Sirloin Steak and Radish Salad Ingredients • • • • • • • • • • • • • • •
1 3/4 pounds beef sirloin steak 1/3 cup olive oil 3 tablespoons red wine vinegar 2 tablespoons lemon juice 1 clove garlic 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper 1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce 3/4 cup blue cheese 8 cups romaine lettuce 2 tomatoes 1 green bell pepper 1 carrot 1/4 cup red onion 1/2 cup radish
Directions 1. Scrub the bell pepper, tomatoes, and radishes with an abrasive plastic pad reserved for vegetables, followed by rinsing. Remove tops and leaves. 2. Place the lettuce in a large bowl, and run warm water into it filling the bowl. Stir briskly with a utensil, then pour the water out and repeat. Allow to dry in a collender if possible. 3. Tear the lettuce into small pieces. Finely slice the tomatoes, green bell pepper, carrot, and red onion. Crumble the blue cheese. Mince the garlic. 4. Preheat grill for high heat. 5. Lightly oil grate. Place steak on grill and cook for 7 minutes per side or until desired doneness is reached. Remove from heat and let sit until cool enough to handle. Slice steak into bite size pieces. 6. In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, vinegar, lemon juice, garlic, salt, pepper and Worcestershire sauce. Mix in the cheese. Cover and place dressing in refrigerator. 7. Onto chilled plates arrange the lettuce, tomato, pepper, onion and olives.
