Pirilo Pizza Rustica

Some restaurants were born to be the stuff of legends and Pirilo is undeniably just that. This story begins with its own concocted mythology of a bold little boy that won the heart of his beloved and ends with a boldly flavored pizza that won the hearts of the people. An ode to the Italian immigrants of Latin America, Pirilo uses the spirit of innovation and adaptation to combine Italian, Argentinian and Puerto Rican flavors into its unique pizza and a full menu that serves you sausages, octopus and empanadillas. It is quite possibly the Island’s best pie and worth the trip on that distinction alone, but Pirilo is a moxie boy with big ambitions and has set out to also be one of the most talked about restaurants in town. With a retro decor of mementos and baubles, Pirilo is a faux museum to its own urban legend, using whimsical pop decoration in both of its locations to evoke a timeless feel. With a large artisanal beer menu and a killer house sangria, Pirilo is a guaranteed good time! The legend has now grown into a third location in Dorado, opening in October of 2016.

Rosa Mexicano Contemporary Mexican Cuisine

Dazzling vistas, posh ambiance, tangy margaritas and plate licking Mexican food is a pretty solid combination, we think. Rosa Mexicano features award winning dishes that have redefined the concept of elevated Mexican cuisine. Now in 20 cities world wide, no location beats San Juan’s breathtaking lagoon meets ocean view. Rooted in authentic flavors and utilizing socially responsible ingredients, featured menu items like the Pomegranate Margaritas or Guacamole en Molcajete (made in a traditional lava-rock mortar and prepared table side) have become legends in their own right. Rosa Mexicano actually refers to its signature color palette, festive atmospheres using vibrant purples, pinks, reds and oranges in strikingly modern interior designs. Rosa Mexicano’s “locals menu” is a mexirican delight with burritos and tacos stuffed with local meat recipes designed by chef Hedwill Martinez.

Arborio Bori-Italian Cuisine

Few restaurateurs take as much pride in micromanaging the entire guest experience like Arborio’s Chef/owner Víctor Rodríguez. His dedication to creating dishes and selecting wines to pair with them comes from years of running the floor and building a healthy fan club of aficionados who follow his suggestions blindly. The result is a culinary fortress built with Italian mandates, layered with local tastes and polished with the whims of Dorado’s foodie elite. Caribe Hilton Hotel & Casino Group Services, Inc. Tour: Culebra Island Boat Tour Restaurant: Rare 125, great wine list! Anecdote: Once, I attended a family that had lost a child and came to Puerto Rico to get away from the stress and sadness they were going through. I booked some tours for them and made restaurant reservations that catered to their needs. They were so happy at by end of their stay that the entire family passed by to thank me for all of the assistance I had provided. It surprised me that something so seemingly insignificant in the big picture had made such a large impact on such a difficult time for this family. The mother was so appreciative of her experience with our service and our Island that she came back the next year; this time with her entire Corporation!

La Concha Hotel, A Renaissance Resort Group Services, Inc. Tour: Exploration One by Explora, Tobias Culebra Island Snorkeling, Caja de Muerto Island Snorkeling Restaurant: Perla, Roasted Double Lamb chops. Anecdote: Sometimes parents come to my desk with their kids and ask me what can I offer them as a family activity. They are looking for something that will be safe for everyone, but also fun for their kids. Of course, I love to spoil them with souvenirs, candy or a paper origami and then see how the kids get all excited about their upcoming adventures. The looks on the kids’ faces when they return from a visit to the Rainforest Waterfalls, the Camuy Caverns, The Old San Juan Spanish forts or a snorkeling trip in our gorgeous Caribbean waters, brings a smile to my face.

Sheliemar Pacheco

Anecdote: A gentleman came in from another hotel asking me for assistance since he wanted to go on a boat tour (anything on a boat) but he was in a wheelchair. I did my research until I found a company that was willing to assist him. The next day he came back with tears of happiness because out of 9 hotel concierges he visited, I was the only one that went above and beyond to make it happen. Meeting and exceeding people needs and expectations is one of my passions and it is very gratifying when someone tells you, “it was all possible because of you. You made this happen.”
