Letter from the editor Color plays a major role in our day-to-day lives. A color could evoke a mood, a memory, an illusion and even a dream. Colors are everywhere, for each season there is a selection of colors that are going to play important roles in our wardrobes. We get inspiration from our surroundings, events that are happening around us and we even look at color from other parts of the world. Understanding color is essential because each color evokes a feeling and as mentioned before they have a major role in our day-to-day lives. Each season comes with a variety of colors that we are going to implement in our lives and use them according to our current situations, aesthetic or need. Colors can help determine what is happening around as and be a way of expression as well as transmit a message to others. Now we see that colors are being used for winter or for summer without questioning. Geek Squad, the first color trend is based on retro inspired colors that are found in common appliances and interior decoration from past years. The Geek Squad trend being our jewel tones for the season. Against Traffic is a trend inspired by the constant change and movement in our hectic lives, rich, vivid colors are found in this trend, being the bright colors. The third trend is the Mute trend, this are the neutral colors that are found in nature and that give a sense of luxuriousness to the season’s garments. The final trend is the Softies trend; this trend carries all the pastels from the season. The dusty pastels have been seen as flexible colors throughout seasons. Each color story provokes certain emotions and carry deeper meanings of what is happening in our days and how we are constantly changing. Enjoy, Rafaella De Guzman F.

Mute
Neutral tones 13
Neutral Tones “Mute,” a trend that involves neutral dusty colors has been seen globally in runways as well as for street styles. The brushed, boiled wools and the draped silk have become part of everyone’s closet in chalk tones. This trend could be seen as minimalistic which evokes a sense of luxury to each garment and for each combination. The neutral colors allow for easy color combinations as well as fabric combinations, making each garment exclusive and eye-catching.
Dusted creams and grey-infused colors add depth to winter and autumn garments; provide light to the grey skies, while adding a feminine touch when combined with the right accessories. Also by adding more natural colors to garments and adding layers to make intresting combinations.
The reason behind the name is because now society has adapted to become more neutral in everything and having little changes from season to season has also made their closets more neutral and quite.
As previously mentioned this trend uses more heavyweight fabrics such as wool, cotton, cashmere and silk.
