Ragbag® is a brand for fair and upcycled bags and accessories, produced in India and designed by talented European designers. The materials are collected by ‘ragpickers’ and the production is done by small fabricators in the slums of New Delhi, Calcutta and in a small village in Tamil Nadu (India). OUR PRINCIPLES:
• FAIR > We are providing pleasant working conditions and a fair income for the workers at our producing partners.
• UPCYCLED > Our products are made from waste materials, such as: used plastic bags, used tea sacks and waste textiles from the fashion industry.
• FASHION > We work with talented European designers, combined with the creative input and handicraft skills from our Indian producers.

Tamil Nadu Our partner in Tamil Nadu (South India) is Green innovations. They work with ragpickers, who collect used tea sacks (big-bags) at tea factories, restaurants and hotels. This strong and water-resistant material is washed, cut into patterns and sewn into new products in a small rooftop factory. The project is creating work and income for approximately 15 women and 5 men in Tamil Nadu. Every bag has its own unique print, depending on the tea plantation where it comes from.

New Delhi Delhi
Our partner in Delhi is Conserve. They work with ‘ragpickers’, who collect plastic waste in the streets and sell it to the collection centre. Plastic rags are washed, dried and separated by colour. The plastic then goes in a machine, which presses them into thicker sheets. These colourful sheets are cut in patterns and sewn into bags. The project is creating work and income for more than 60 ragpickers, people at the collection centres and fabricators in the workshop.
