ホテル白井屋 Shiroiya, Maebashi, Japan. Sou Fujimoto Architects Role : Staff Candidate
Hotel Shiroiya, Located in the town of Maebashi, Gunma Prefecture. This project is a renovation of an existing hotel to a luxury hotel and building of a new building adjascent to the existing building. MY ROLE Since the project is already unedr construction, my tasks included preparing detial drawing for the construction and also design study renders/models in Rhino 3D and V-ray for interior detail designs. Also one of the major task I undertook in this project was to optimise the existing 3D model to reduce its file size and remodelling certain aspects like the staircases and handrails with Grasshopper.
House of Hungarian Music, Budapest, Hungary. Sou Fujimoto Architects Role : Architectural Intern
Liget Budapest, House of Hungarian Music. Envisioned as a vibrant social venue, the House of Hungarian Music will be a signature meeting place of the Hungarian music scene with its concert halls, instruction rooms, open-air stage, music education workshops, concerts, exhibitions and a broad range of opportunities for learning by playing. MY ROLE I was working as an architectural intern involved in detail design post competition stage (Schematic Stage), responsibilities included making physical models for study, detailing 3D models on Rhino 3D, rendering on V-ray for material comparison.
Beach Cinema, Cyprus. Kotaro Horiuchi Architects Role : Digital Nomad (Work From Home) This beach cinema design utilises the context to form an interactive experience unique to the site. Focusing on the notion of sand and waves, users are no longer limited to just watching the movie. Audiences seated in the circular openings will be immersed into another world via cymatic systems moving the sand in relation to the sound of the film. The final structure being 3D Sand printed thus bringing the whole beach feel into the cinema watching experience. MY ROLE I developed the concept and modelled in 3D producing various options for the architect to choose from, and made the final presentation for the competition. The entire communication for this particular competition was done over mails while I was working from home.
One Paramount, RMZ Infinity Chennai. L and W Construction Pvt. Ltd. (Woh Hup India) Role : Architectural Coordinator (Management Trainee) One Paramount, RMZ Infinity Chennai. A 2.5 million sqft IT building. L&W Construction Pvt. Ltd. was awarded D&B (Design & Build) contract to construct this building in 22 months. Located in Chennai, is set to be built on a 15 acre plot of land. MY ROLE Working as an architectural coordinator amd technical head on-site, I had to oversee the production of construction drawings to be released on site for execution. Since the contract was Design and Build, C&S and M&E proposed many value engineering for the project and hence the drawings had to be produced practically from scratch. My responsibilities included liaising with the client, vendors, technical team and site team. I was part of the project till the end of design and production of drawings and sourcing sample materials for approvals all of which were documented in company’s formats such as CVI, IMIR, RFA, RFAM, RFI etc.

Being one of the early professional project I worked on, this helped me understand the process of designing with regulatory norms by the local development authority.
Abbul Kassim Residence, Chennai. DesignQube Associates Role : Architectural Intern (Professional Training Practice -II) Mr. Abbul Kassim, A renowned hotelier in chennai had an existing structure of G+2 for which he wanted us to design a facade. A challenging task, considering the clients expectation, already underway construction adding to the design constrain. MY ROLE Working as an architectural intern/visualiser, I had to model on sketchup based on sketches produced by the designer for prrliminary approvals from the client, then further render on 3DS Max with V-Ray. Prior to the design, I was also given the task of understanding the clients need based on his questionnaire response and to prepare a mood board based on which the project moved forward.

V.O. Chidambaram Pillai Pier, Port of Chennai. Final Year Thesis Design Aim : To design a world class passenger teminal for Chennai to compliment the flow of traffic through the ports and also to help India become a destination for Luxury Cruises from around the world. It also serve as a multi hall or a convention center when not in use as a terminal.
India has one of the world’s largest shipping Industries. Being one of the first countries to set sail on water to establish its presence in the South East Asian countries, India has the world’s oldest sea ports. Travelling on a ship to places like Andaman and Nicobar Islands and neighboring countries like Singapore and Srilanka was really common till the air travel was affordable. but now with the increase in modern cruise and ferries, India is in a dire need to modernize the sea port infrastructure. Although there are cruise operating from Chennai to other Coastal Destinations in the Indian Ocean, it is almost non-existent compared to the rest of the world. This is due to the lack in infrastructure to attract people to come to the ports. The existing ports are mainly focusing on cargo shipping and naval operations. The fishermen have their own jetty/dock further north to the port. It’s time for an upgrade in the infrastructure of these ports.
Conceptual approach to the terminal. The roof mimicing the waters of the ocean.
Multipurpose Terminal Hall which shall host Gala Dinners, Music Concert, Product Launch etc.
CHENNAI
Site
“The design incorporates thermoflask like structure to reduce Aircon consumption by reducing the number of air exchange that happens. Also the multipurpose space shall be flexible to host wedding gala. rock concert, classical music concert, conference etc when not in use as a cruise center. thus providing a source of revenue to run the terminal.
The Terminal shall be equipped with all the aminities required for cruise operations and features public spaces for people to spend time during the weekend or so. With a fullfledged sea view restaurant, shopping center, food court and casino this shall be a go to place to spend leisure time.
