Body & Mind
Nevada City & Grass Valley Visitation Dream By Kimberly Mascaro
I
am on a train. Several extended family members (all deceased relatives who have died during different periods of my life) enter through the train doors, but not all at once. Some are already seated, while others enter through different doors on the same train car. We quietly acknowledge each other. The train is moving again. Some prepare to exit as the train approaches its next stop. Then, they begin to leave, some together, some solo, getting off at different stops, exiting through different doors. I am not going with them. I do not protest. After all, I know they are dead. I have my own stop, my own door. I have some awareness that I am dreaming. This is an example of what is known as a visitation dream. I have experienced them off and on throughout my life. I’m one of the lucky ones who recall only positive visitation dream experiences, even during periods of sadness and grief. For others, these types of dreams can annoy, frustrate, scare, or haunt. Most psychologists and psychotherapists I know, do not include dreams in their practice. I was never taught to ask about dreams in my training, yet by 2004, my attention turned toward dreaming, especially the extraordinary kind. I use my own dreams to inform my life and work and also ask my clients if they would like to share a dream with me. Some do and some don’t, which is fine. Dreaming is one way of knowing, and for some it is personal.
Dreams can impact our physiology – they are real experiences. Dreams even influence our thoughts, feelings, and actions. For those that report dreams of the deceased, I consider a variety of ways to attend to these experiences. For example, when I am treating someone with PTSD who dreams of a deceased perpetrator, or a scared child, we may approach dreamwork in one way, such as utilizing dream re-entry. When I am working with a grieving client who is dreaming with the deceased loved one and experiencing deep loss, we may use dreamwork in another way. One of my favorite dreamwork offerings is to teach clients how to build and use altars and shrines to empower, protect and support. I began teaching shrine-making to clients by 2005, although I had already been constructing them for years. As for the grief/loss example above, I have worked with clients to construct a shrine to not only honor the deceased loved one, but also to create a sacred space to continue the relationship with that loved one. In my own family shrine, I have roses there because I have been given a rose in a visitation dream. This demonstrates to the deceased that I am listening, paying attention. If there is something important to tell the deceased loved one, a letter can
be placed at the shrine. From there, it is possible that this action is acknowledged by way of a new visitation dream. Some people even incubate a visitation dream with a question for the deceased person. The question can be written down and placed at the shrine or altar, or under the dreamers’ pillow. The next morning, a dream may be recalled to include a response. This is just another possibility for this kind of dreamwork. The options here can go in many directions. Visitation dreams seem to be getting more and more attention lately. From my research, I learned that visitation dreams most often arise in the context of major life transitions and loss (e.g. bereaved

bring comfort to the bereaved as well as confidence to those who are moving toward death. What can one make of a visitation dream outside of bereavement or end-of-life concerns? One commonality among the visitation dreams reported by those grieving, near death, and others (who are not experiencing grief or loss) is the appearance of, along with some form of communication with, the deceased. In such cases, the deceased individual often appears more youthful and in good health. After a neighbor had died, he greeted me in a dream. Effortlessly moving toward me, his body was in better shape than it had been the last time I saw him alive. His essence felt light and jovial. Another commonality among the visitation dreams of those grieving, near death, and others is that the dream structure is organized and clear. This was the case for my neighborly visitation dream, along with other visitation dreams I have experienced. None have been outlandish, disorganized, or outrageous. My 2018 book, Extraordinary Dreams: Visions, Announcements and Premonitions Across Time and Place, includes more on these types of dreams for those interested in further exploration. While these sorts of experiences may imply a broad spiritual perspective and a conviction of after-life realities for many bereaved individuals, they may also offer the same

for those not experiencing any kind of grief or loss. A vivid dream visitation has the potential to impact anyone! As conscious, soulful beings, these visitations can open doors and change lives. What can be done so that meaningful dreams become more than a fading memory? Document the dreams and title them in a journal, notepad, or voice recording app – that’s one way. As an artsy healing professional, I really enjoy getting creative with a dream. Making small altars or shrines (or adding to an already existing one) is a favorite delight. Altar and shrine-making allows for photos of our dream visitors to be displayed and provides a space to hold objects that may have once belonged to the deceased loved one. This space can act as a place to pray, remember, or meditate. By honoring deceased loved ones in this way, it is like we are making the statement that the relationship is important and that we appreciate such dream visits. I consider this kind of dreamwork sacred. Truly, it enhances meaning in life.

individuals as well as those in the dying process). In 2011, Patrick McNamara authored a Psychology Today article titled Visitation Dreams: Can dreams carry messages from loved-ones who have died? McNamara shares his own experiences with visitation dreams of his parents. Each dream occurred about 6 months after each death. Even with his strong Western scientific background, he “could not shake the conviction” that true communication between he and his dead mother and father took place. Like many researchers and scholars of dreams, McNamara is aware of how little research has been carried out on this topic, all the while knowing that these types of dreams can be very helpful. He states that experiencing a visitation dream can carry a bereaved person to “successful resolution of the grieving process.” Visitation dreams have been helpful through the course of my life. Jeanne Van Bronkhorst’s book Dreams At the Threshold: Guidance, Comfort and Healing At the End of Life (2015) is a notable example, providing rich information about visitations reported among these groups. The author, who worked as a hospice social worker and bereavement counselor, describes how visitation dreams

Nevada City & Grass Valley Visitation Dream
There’s a story where after 30 years of discipleship the student realized that something was still missing so he went to his master and asked, “Master, after all this time, what am I missing?” The master replied, “It’s simple, you see yourself in the world and I see the world in myself.” When we start seeing that we play a large part of manifesting our reality we start seeing that every word we use is a creative force, negative or positive. We also stop trying to be “normal” in an “abnormal” world and start taking responsibility and become more active in making the changes we want by first being that change within ourselves and taking control of our personal health.

Vibrational Healing with Tuning Forks
By Pia Sates, RN
A
bout 6 years ago, while visiting Wilbur Hot springs in California, a lady presented to me an Ohm 136.1hz tuning fork. I had recently graduated from an Ayurvedic school in the Bay Area and I was very interested in energies and the profound impact they have on humans, flora and fauna. The initial comforting “buzz” or vibration I experienced with this first tuning fork ignited a spark of curiosity within me to learn more about the power of sound and vibration as a healing tool.
I started to study and practice with various frequencies using different tuning forks, seeing and experiencing some remarkable results. As a hospice RN working in a small hospice clinic, I was fortunate to be able to use the tuning forks with some of my patients and families. I found that just by applying a tuning fork on a patient’s chest could help soothe anxiety and pain at end of life in ways I never thought possible. Last year I participated at a Acutonics summer camp in Mt Shasta. I had read about Acutonics but never experienced them myself. This camp became life changing for me, it seemed to resonate with every cell in my body and I immediately decided to pursue their 7 level program. Now I would love to share with you what Acutonics is all about. The Acutonics Healing System is a mix of sound healing and Oriental Medicine. It was developed in 1997 by Donna
Carey and has since spread throughout the world. Today’s Acutonics is not a product of any one individual, but of a group of committed practitioners, teachers, students and clients that have helped this approach play a part in integrative medicine. It is an energy-based non-invasive treatment that is similar to acupuncture. Precision calibrated tuning forks are applied to specific acupuncture and acupressure points to access the body’s meridian and chakra energy systems and gives ac-
cess into these core energy systems within the body. The frequencies of these tuning forks represent the orbital properties of the Earth, Moon, Sun and the planets. Their rich resonance and vibration penetrate deep into the body, harmonizing your whole being and connects us with and supports the body’s natural frequencies. It utilizes not only tuning forks and symphonic gongs tuned to the planets, but also Tibetan bowls, bells, drums, and rattles. This helps to connect body, mind, and soul in the journey toward optimal health and spiritual attunement or at-one-ment with all things in the Universe. This life changing healing work is not only having profound results treating chronic and debilitating conditions, but also helping people to balance the spiritual, emotional and physical. The virtual reality, owned by the Acutonics® Institute of Integrative Medicine, is drawing the connections between East and West and ancient and indigenous wisdom. Practitioners of Acutonics® include physicians, nurses, acupuncturists, massage and bodywork practitioners, chiropractors, psychologists, physical therapists, energy medicine practitioners, and many other health care providers. What to expect during a treatment session? First there will be an intake assessment to find out what needs to be addressed. During the treatment you will be fully clothed
(preferably soft clothes) with no shoes, lying comfortably on a massage table. The session starts out with the sound of crystal singing bowls and different tuning forks letting you into a relaxed state of
mind. Tuning forks will then be applied to acupuncture points on your body like your chest, spine, sacrum, ankles and arms… you will feel a vibrating and comforting sensation which penetrates deep into the area. The treatment lasts for about 1 hour to 1 ½ hours. A session can evoke altered states and people often report feeling different, expansive and very relaxed after their session. I tend to think of a session as a subtle, non-invasive full body massage. Allow yourself to rest after your treatment. Many people are drawn to the work for the clarity, relaxation, and heightened awareness they experience during and after an Acutonics session. I personally believe in a holistic approach to health and with that said I
believe that you have to find what works for you, and what might work today may not always be the only solution for tomorrow or any further ailments. I believe in orchestrating your own healing prescription, adding treatments that help calibrate or balance the energies that are out of balance. I therefor encourage my clients and people I meet to have the courage to try out different healing modalities, and to find the right healer or mentor who you can fully trust. I recently read the book Healers on Healing which is a compilation of 37 essays written by some of the world’s leading healers, exploring the underlying principles on which all healing rests. It is a treasury of profound insights and I would recommend it to any healing professionals, people who seek to develop their own healing capacities or anyone who is interested in the magical properties of human relationships. This book made it very clear to me what healing is really about and inspired me to continue my work, helping my patients and clients to balance their own vibrations and thereby reach healing. What I personally took out of the reading was that the biggest component in healing is TRUST and that any healing is reciprocal. Heavenly Scented CALIRUB
By Xena Gale & George Buck
I
’m often stopped in the supermarket with a common question. “What is that perfume you are wearing? You smell marvelous!” My first thought is, “Well, I’m not wearing perfume!” Then, of course, the brain kicks in and I realize they are talking about heavenly scented CALIRUB! It all began with a dream to create a topical pain relief salve that actually smelled good! Something sweet, yet spicy, with a clean citrus and somewhat earthy fragrance. A designer scent that could be enjoyed by both men and women. Thus began my quest to learn all I could about essential oils, including their healing properties and their scent. The study of perfumery is where I first learned about blending scents. G. W. Piesse, a French perfumer and chemist, was first to publish a popular olfactory guide The Art of Perfumery. He introduced a glossary about smells that correspond to different pitches in western musical notes, just like a musical scale. He assigned specific musical notes to aromas and placed each odor on an octave according to its effects on our senses.
Now, when we talk about fragrance, we speak of notes and accords. Like musical chords we created a combination of complementary notes, composition, and harmony. Our CALIRUB ‘10 Essential Oils Blend’ includes top, middle, and base notes for a perfect harmonic blend that holds each scent together while preventing evaporation. Next came investigating the art and science of aromatherapy, where some believe that a scent can actually heal. I discovered that our olfactory system, with millions of receptors, provides a gateway for scents to travel into our blood stream, through the lungs or the central nervous system by way of signals directed to the limbic system of the brain. It is this system that aromatherapists believe an actual scent can heal and provide a sense of overall well-being, calm the nerves and uplift the spirit! CALIRUB’s organic and wildcrafted essential oils, along with our organic full-spectrum hemp-derived CBD base, are jam-packed with terpenes. Inside these terpenes are the actual healing compounds that are responsible for making this rub an anti-inflammatory, analgesic, pain-fighting machine! Organic olive oil is our carrier oil. We chose organic olive oil based upon numerous scientific studies that suggested it was the best overall carrier oil to be absorbed into the skin. Our organic beeswax adds the perfect component that also acts as a moisture barrier. After many months of research, I was
ready to start blending oils. My good friend, Anne Chaney, and I ordered a zillion different organic and wildcrafted essential oils. 19 formulations later, CALIRUB’s, unique handcrafted complex aroma was born. So, there you have it! When you smell CALIRUB it is truly an entourage of all the different parts. Perfumery, aromatherapy, and healing oils, all combined into a heavenly scented dream come true topical that truly works. Try It! It works! And, as lovers of CALIRUB say, “Rub it! Love it! Smell it!” And who knows? Someone may come to you and say, “Oh my. You smell marvelous! What is that perfume you are wearing?”
A Heavenly Scented Dream
[A personal update by Xena’s nephew George about the Paradise Camp Fire and how they have risen to the challenge of reestablishing themselves and re-launching their business.] The smoke, which lingered like an uninvited, toxic guest is long gone. The media has moved on to a new disaster far from the melted and tangled remnants of the Ridge. Still, our hope, dreams, and determination spring eternal. Here in the Magalia CA, Camp Fire burn scar, all kinds of undergrowth can be seen from the main roadways, reaching for light from beneath the blackened incense cedar and ponderosa pines. Along with the resilient blackberry bushes, manzanita, and wild bay laurel, the CALIRUB
Body & Mind team and many who remain on the Ridge are reaching for light too. On November 8th, 2018 my aunt Xena, her partner, and their two dogs fled their farm in upper Magalia on foot, down middle creek canyon, and up the other side to seek refuge at a friend’s home on Nimshew Ridge. Once there, and out of immediate danger, they stood and watched as their farm was engulfed by an unrelenting wall of fire. It was then, during those heart-breakingly horrific moments, seeds of a plan began to germinate inXena’s mind. It would be weeks until they returned to see what remained. Miraculously, although looted, two cabins were spared by the firestorm. Some have left this area out of necessity, while others remain. Either out of necessity themselves, or a desire to stand together and see this rebuilding process through. For many, it’s a combination of the two. Xena decided to stay.
From the beginning Xena envisioned CALIRUB as a healing product. Not only for aches and pains, but also as a tool which could potentially create jobs for her friends, family, and neighbors. My aunt has always been a “look at the bigger picture” type of person, who believes in the law of attraction, and so she set forth with that mindset. Known around Magalia as “the CALIRUB lady”, Xena has been giving our product away to her neighbors in Magalia for over three years. After losing nearly everything in the fire, including
the entirety of her inventory, she began putting a plan in motion. Finding her home in lower Magalia destroyed, she decided in March of this year to convert one of the remaining cabins on her farm, aptly named ‘Dashavatara Farms’, into a temporary production facility. It is with great pleasure, appreciation, and optimism that we proudly announce the official re-launch of CALIRUB, our heavenly scented topical salve! We’ve learned a lot on this post-fire path. It has taught us about the power of love, teamwork, and the human capacity for perseverance, generosity, empathy, and healing while the cards feel so hopelessly stacked against us. CALIRUB would not be in a position to re-launch at all without the love and support of many wonderful people in this community and beyond. Thank you! Many blessings. Women’s Health: Hormone Imbalance tiple factors and many women struggle to talk about it or to seek out help. I’m here to tell you that you’re not alone, and there are more options than you realize.
Child Bearing Years
By Dr. Ashley Olberg
E
very woman has female sex hormones, and they can get out of balance at any time in our life cycle. Many women think this is only an issue during menopause, but actually finding hormonal balance can be difficult at any time. High amounts of stress, inflammation, chemicals and GMOs in our food, and big changes to our environment all contribute to hormone issues. I hypothesize that this is just the beginning of our hormones becoming more and more out of balance. It’s a complicated issue, with mul-
I am seeing more hormonal imbalance due to the amount of stress that everyone is under. Hormones getting out of balance is usually due to other disturbances throughout the body. When we experience stress we can have an increase in inflammation, which affects production of all hormones in the body. Child birth also causes huge shifts in hormones. Proper estrogen levels are required for healing. Symptoms of imbalanced sex hormone levels are: Weight changes, fatigue, mood irregularity, irregular periods and cycles, changes in the amount of bleeding during a period, fatigue, insomnia, headaches, osteoporosis,
vaginal dryness, acne, memory fog, and poor healing.
Perimenopause
This transition time is from the first period irregularities until the last period as your hormone levels decrease. Symptoms can include irregular period, changes in lubrication, fatigue, hot flashes, breast tenderness and difficulty sleeping. Adrenal fatigue can worsen your perimenopausal symptoms. It is important to take care of the rest of your body, check in with your doctor to make sure all of your systems are healthy and supported.
Menopause
Hormonal imbalance is very common during menopause. Studies show that the more a woman is supported once moving into menopause, creating more hormonal balance for her, the better the quality of life is. We can have better cardiovascular
health, prevent osteoporosis, increase mood, decrease fatigue, increase focus and cognition, decrease sexual dysfunction, and increase quality of sleep.
Testing Hormone Levels
There is no perfect test for hormone levels. Neither blood, urine, or saliva gives us an exact hormone level. However, it still provides us with a good baseline for where your hormones are. Matching lab results with symptoms is imperative for getting the full picture, resulting in better outcomes. The normal range of hormones for women and men is broad, that is because different bodies feel best at different hormone levels. It’s important to find a provider that understands hormones and is willing to create a custom hormone treatment plan for you.
Treatment
There are many different treatments for hormone balance and these should be tailored to you. Some of these options include detox, lifestyle management, herbs, eating only organic and non-GMO foods, stress management, immune support, acupuncture, emotional support and therapy, and bioidentical hormone therapy.
Herbs
ColdCreekInn.com
There are different herbal options to help restore hormones. Maca is a South American herb that helps to support the adrenals, thyroid, and sex hormones. I believe that it works well due to the way it supports multiple systems. Vitex is another wonderful herb that can help balance estrogen and progesterone levels, as well as regulate prolactin levels. This herb is often used for decreasing PMS symptoms. Skullcap is another herb I like to use. I use
this herb to help calm the nervous system and help increase the quality of sleep, as we cannot have hormonal balance without having good quality sleep. Ask a health care provider before beginning any therapy and assistance with safety and dosing. Many ask me if I can help hormone levels with herbs alone, and yes, I have many success stories exclusively using herbs to alleviate symptoms. So why offer bioidentical hormone options as well?
Bioidentical Hormones
Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy, or BHRT, is a wonderful option for those suffering symptoms of imbalance. BHRT is a safe and effective therapy when used appropriately by a professional. BHRT is not a fit for every person and there are risk factors that can make this therapy not suited for you. BHRT is different than traditional hormone therapy as it is identical
to the hormones that our bodies produce naturally. They can be made into creams, injections, pills, patches, and gels. There are times when I recommend BHRT over herbs due to needing to heal tissue quickly, such as with atrophy that is occurring vaginally due to a lack of estrogen. In this case, an estrogen or DHEA cream can help to stop or in some cases reverse any tissue change that has occurred and can restore health and function to the tissue. BHRT is used to decrease symptoms quickly while we do all of the ground work to balance the rest of the body. I can also use BHRT to increase bone density in those that have osteoporosis (weak and brittle bones). Other women have found BHRT gave them significantly more energy, tone of muscle, libido, and overall significant increase in quality of life. Every woman’s body is different and you may prefer to use herbs instead of BHRT, or even a combination of both to find the right balance and best results. Make sure to clearly communicate your goals and preferences with your healthcare providers so that together you can safely and effectively manage your hormones. Cutting Edge Therapy for
Chronic Pain and Dysfunctional Movement
By Miranda McGovern
I
f you follow the latest in the health and wellness industry, you’ll hear a lot these days about identifying and correcting the “source” of pain. That will mean something different to various practitioners, depending on their background. For nutritionists it might mean, “you are what you eat.” Their philosophy is that health is built from the inside out, start-
ing with the very building blocks of your physical body. To a chiropractor it might mean skeletal alignment. To a yogi, it could be something more metaphysical, like spiritual alignment. None of them are wrong. However, if we want to be literal, there really is an actual physiological source of pain: it is what we refer to as a “pain receptor.” Logical, right? These receptors are tasked with sensing “damage” to the body. If they are stimulated enough, their signal reaches the brain, and the brain responds by telling you, “Ouch!” The key here is that when functioning normally, there is a threshold. Again, they have to be not just stimulated, but stimulated to an extent that the signal reaches the brain. For example: these receptors cover your entire body. because even though you are stimulating the pain receptors, the stimulation isn’t enough for the signal to reach the brain. Now poke yourself with a needle. (Ok, don’t really.) That is a lot more stimulation. Enough to reach the brain, and for the brain to respond by telling you, “Hey, that hurts!” So what happens when you have dysfunctional pain receptors? They become hyperactive, sending far too much signal to the brain than they should. In a case like that, maybe you do simply touch yourself on the arm and get a pain response in return. Does that make you a wimp? No. Now, you might be a wimp anyway, but not because of that. In this case, your dysfunctional pain receptors are sending bad information to the brain, and the brain can only respond to what it’s being told. This can be correct and the pain can be eliminated!
One aspect of functional neurology and P-DTR® that makes it so powerful is its ability to specifically target not just muscular dysfunction, but dysfunction in specific types of receptors, including those that send information up the pain pathways to the brain. Here at Studio M we use a variety of methods to help asses and find the root cause of pain, limited mobility and dysfunction; for example, a woman suffering from pain in the anterior hip. She could not take a full-length stride and felt pain with every step. A few quick tests revealed dysfunctional pain receptors in the front and side of the hip. After clearing just one dysfunctional pair of pain receptors, she was able to take a full-length stride and felt very little pain. After clearing a second set of receptors, her pain was completely gone. Now that is truly addressing pain at its source. Here at Studio M we work to find and recognize these receptors that are signaling the brain that there is pain when there is no longer a need for a pain signal to go to the brain. The feedback
loop needs to be broken and reset. The proprioception (sensation of touch, pressure, hot, cold, pain, etc.), and the way the body processes the information from these receptors, is paramount in determining neuromuscular responses throughout the entire body. Motor function is not just determined by the motor system, but rather is modified by the inputs of these receptors. Using a comprehensive system of muscle testing and neural challenges, involved receptors can be located and normal function can be quickly restored. Most therapeutic modalities address only the “hardware” of the body, neglecting the fact that most of the pain and dysfunction we experience is often actually a problem with our “software.” We use therapies Holistic Speech Therapist to provide access Utilizing effective, holistic modalities to the software coding of the to get excellent results. human nervous Specializing in developmental issues, system, allowing us to quickly identify Parkinson’s, stroke recovery, memory,
and resolve the root causes of pain and dysfunction throughout the entire body. The evaluation and treatment process is fast, non-invasive, and permanent. Most physical therapy and other therapeutic modalities deal with the “hardware” of the body, neglecting the fact that much of the pain and dysfunction we experience is often actually a problem with our “software”. Studio M deals with the various sensory receptors (proprioceptors) of the body and the way they affect and modify our movement patterns. These receptors (those for pain, stretch, pressure, hot, cold, vibration, etc.) all send information to the brain for processing and the brain takes this feedback into account when making decisions regarding our movement. Who can benefit from this type of therapy? Almost everyone! This type of therapy most importantly finds and corrects problems, not just the symptoms. It accelerates recovery from an acute injury, eliminates lingering pain from chronic illnesses, debilitating stress of repetitive exercises or stress and optimizes athletic performance and restores muscle function quickly. Most importantly it resolves problems you thought you would “just have to live with.” This is the future of healing! Massage:
A Key to Caring for Yourself By Wendy Brunson
C
an we agree on one thing? No matter who we are, what we do, or how enlightened we think ourselves to be, we all have days that rattle us, or maybe even shake us to our core. If you’re like me, perhaps you wake each morning with intentions to feel grateful, peaceful and calm. We hope these intentions will guide us throughout our day as we strive to gently and compassionately connect with all whom cross our paths, until…the morning traffic clogs our path, someone’s horn blares and their middle finger meets our gaze, hot and beloved coffee ends up on our clean, pressed lap...
illness, work troubles, money fears, miscommunications, arguments...you know the list. These common daily stressors build up in our nervous systems and work their way into our physical bodies. They show up as headaches, kinked necks, stiff lower backs, aggravating hip and knee discomfort, or possibly debilitating plantar fasciitis. If neglected, these stressors can turn into incessant anxiety, depression, auto-immune disorders, chronic pain, and that list continues on also. As the stimulation of everyday life grows more overwhelming by the day, people are becoming increasingly curious about, and open to, alternative forms of healing. The list of holistic practices as preventative medicine, or what is now known as complementary medicine, is growing. We are learning the importance of caring for our body, mind, and spirit as a whole. Massage therapy is a very common,
popular, diverse and exquisite tool to add to your holistic self care arsenal. Here is a short list of why massage therapy can be a helpful part of your health-care regimen. Increases Mind/Body Awareness: When you allow yourself time on the massage table, it enables you to slow down and tune into your body. You become more conscious of the layers of muscles, fascia, joints and tendons that work harmoniously and/or dysfunctionally together. As you enter into the present moment, you begin to understand how the scattered mind, and all of its memories and worries play a part in your body’s current reality. Improves Flexibility: Regular massage loosens and relaxes muscles. This helps your body achieve its full range of motion and increases movement potential. Improves Circulation: Whether you’re receiving a gentle, relaxing massage, or intense deep tissue bodywork, loosening
Body & Mind tight muscles and tendons allow increased blood flow that can help with pain management and eliminating toxins. Pain Management: Regular massage therapy can help alleviate problems like lower back pain and chronic headaches. A professional massage therapist can locate the root of the problem and create a helpful regime. Helps Eliminate Toxins: Massage therapy As I began working as a massage activates your lymphatic system which and Reiki therapist in 2004, I noticed how helps remove and eliminate toxins that the aches, pains and emotional were afbuild up in our bodies. There is a wide range of massage modalities and styles to choose from. Finding one that serves your current situation may take a little research, or it may be as simple as asking a few friends if they have anyone they work with or recommend. Deep tissue massage may be exactly what some people need, but may feel too aggressive for others. Facilitated stretching, myofascial release or Thai massage may be the answer for people looking to increase their body’s range of motion while becoming more flexible. Most practitioners you meet with will have their own style of working with people that includes a combination of the many classes and techniques they’ve learned over the years, this may help guide you . Life will always serve us a healthy dose of just what we need to grow as we participate in this human experience. Sometimes, it’s crucially important to create an occasion for ourselves to slow down, enter the present moment, and reconnect with our minds and bodies. Creating The New World IN TIMES OF PARADIGM SHIFT
By Jack Allis
W
e are living in times of monumental paradigm shift, which were prophesized by ancient indigenous traditions spanning the globe, including the Maya and the Hopi. The old paradigm civilized world has reached the end of its 6000-year cycle and is on the brink of its final collapse. This is a world that must die because it is so hideously out of balance with nature and her laws. But this is not bad news. From the ashes of this dead world there comes a magnificent opportunity to create a totally new world. And I emphasize the word ‘opportunity’ because this is something that will not happen by itself. We, humanity, must make it happen. If we fail, humanity most certainly faces extinction. In order for humanity to survive as a species and create the new world, there are three things that must happen. #1: Sufficient numbers of humanity must break the spell that has been cast upon them by the dark powers who secretly rule the world. #2: The old paradigm civilized world must get out of the way by collapsing once and for all. As long as this world is in place, it is the single greatest impediment to meaningful change. #3: We must use the model shown to us by indigenous people spanning the globe, including virtually all
the Native American traditions, of living sustainably and in harmony with nature, and doing this in the only way possible, in small communities. #1: Breaking the spell. This one comes first because everything else depends upon it. This begins by learning the truth about how our world really works, sinister and dark as it is. The truth is there is a conspiracy in our world that holds the vast bulk of humanity under its sway. Our world is owned and controlled by a tiny group of people, or beings, who operate entirely behind the scenes and who use their incredible wealth and power to create a vast world of illusion that tricks humanity into giving up its freedom and its spirit. Once we become aware of the evil nature of the old paradigm civilized world, it becomes morally and spiritually necessary for us to let go of it as much as possible and disengage from it. It is the enemy of freedom and meaningful change, and we must stop feeding this beast our energy. We must take back ownership and control of our lives, reassuming complete responsibility for ourselves, instead of allowing the system to run our lives for us. When the spell is broken, we are able to reconnect with our higher supernatural power as free multi-dimensional spiritual beings. If we are to persevere in the challenges ahead, we will need to rely upon these kinds of powers. When enough of us break

the spell and free ourselves from the illusion that bind us, we will have the power to change the world. The old paradigm will wither and die. And yes, this would be a revolution, a Gandhi-like revolution, without firing a shot. In the alternative culture, many people believe this is already happening. I don’t quite see it that way. But they say there is a great awakening in our world today, particularly with Internet talk radio and all the online video streaming, where people are waking up to the truth about their spirituality, about the conspiracy, and about the ET presence, past and present. There may be some truth here, but it also appears that those who are awakening aren’t doing what they need to do to correct the despicable situation they find themselves in. Not enough of them are resisting the old paradigm by letting go of it and reassuming complete responsibility for their own lives. Besides, I question whether enough people are waking up at all. If they are, they certainly aren’t acting like it. People have had almost 20 years to wake up to the horrific lie about what happened on 9/11, when the truth is right before their eyes. And it’s been over 20 years now since they started spraying us with chemtrails. This atrocity is enough all by itself to start the revolution, and it’s
right in broad daylight. And what about mainstream politics, both left and right, a centerpiece of the old paradigm illusion? As of this writing (September 2019), the Trump factor actually seems to be drawing more people into mainstream politics. Love him or hate him, he’s not boring and passions are insanely high on both sides. What a waste of energy. Bottom line: he’s no different than any of the rest. He’s powerless because real power in the world rests with the global elite who create our money and with the multi-national corporations that create the grid that enslaves us. My advice here is always the same. Don’t get tricked into playing the game of
mainstream politics. It’s a mirage. Spend this precious energy elsewhere, like spending time in nature. #2: The death of the old paradigm civilized world. I know that sounds harsh, but Einstein once said you cannot solve a problem with the same thinking that created it. This certainly is the case here. This world cannot be reformed from within because it is too deeply corrupted and contaminated, built as if it is on the foundation of plundering the Earth and the dark conspiracy to enslave her people. We must start over, on fresh turf, with a new foundation of living sustainably and in harmony with Mother Earth and with the laws of nature. Yes, the collapse of our civilization will be catastrophic for billions around the world who depend on it to survive. My hope is that sufficient numbers of us break the spell and begin to prepare ourselves practically and spiritually. The

less we depend on a doomed and decadent system, and the more we are capable of taking care of ourselves, then the less catastrophic it will be when that system is no longer there. #3: Creating the new world on the foundation of small sustainable communities, living in harmony with the Earth, in remote places, as far from big cities as possible. This is where we can learn from our indigenous relations spanning the globe, including virtually all the Native American traditions. These were people who were successfully living this way for hundreds, even thousands of years, until Western imperialism wiped them out. This is the model we must use to create the new world. Some of us are already doing this, showing that it can be done. Over the last 12 years I have written four books and three DVDs on this, and for the last seven I have lived in the remote mountains, off the grid, with spring water and solar power. In order for all this to work, more people need to step up and help to lay this foundation, enough to make a difference. And time is running out. JackAllis.com

Our Erratic Weather
& Geoengineering’s Role in it by Marla Crites, Betty Credit & Ted Holmes
G
lobal warming is undeniable. Massive glacial melt, sea level rise, and the hottest July on record confirm it. Is this warming a natural, cyclical event, or is it human caused? There is also no doubt that global weather has become highly erratic. The media tell us that carbon-driven global warming is causing these weird weather extremes. We also are told that the numerous white streaks we see daily in the sky will reduce global temperatures. However, both NOAA and NASA have admitted that artificially overcast skies actually increase the temperature of the Earth’s surface. Elana Freeland writes that Americans are uninformed about this “national security” technology “… transforming our atmosphere and bodies as it manipulates macro-weather systems.” The official purpose for aerosol spraying is global cooling via solar radiation management (SRM). Ironically, SRM’s worsening of our polluted skies is also a major contributor to global warming.
As confirmed by lab tests, aerosols containing aluminum, barium and strontium are being dispersed from tanks on jets. These spray programs release metals in the sky in order to create an atmosphere that is more conductive of electromagnetic pulses, so that ionospheric heaters like HAARP (High-frequency Active Auroral Research Project) can function. The high-level, artificial cirrus cloud layer, ostensibly put there to reflect solar radiation, actually traps heat. As scientist Clifford Carnicom puts it: "Given that the (atmosphere) has a specific heat value…aluminum, barium, magnesium, titanium and calcium… will have the net effect of increasing the temperature…a consequence of their specific heat values."
HAARP: what is its history and purpose? The foundation for the HAARP microwave transmission installation rests in a 1987 patent by Bernard Eastlund. In 2012, Clifford Carnicom and Elana Freeland deconstructed Eastlund’s U.S. Patent #4,686,605, “Method and Apparatus for Altering a Region in the Earth’s Atmosphere, Ionosphere, and/ or Magnetosphere.” Carnicom guided Freeland through the dense language of the Eastlund patent, and she explains it in alarming detail. The first section of the patent “…lays out the vast scope of HAARP to alter regions of the Earth’s atmosphere…” through various methods of heating “…aiming for a fully ionized plasma.” Following is a brief description of its purpose and capabilities. Inspired by Nicola Tesla’s theories and based in Gakona, Alaska, HAARP is an ionospheric heater consisting of a 33-acre-wide array of 180 high frequency crossed-dipole antennas. Seventy feet in height, together they can direct 3.6 billion watts of microwave energy (that’s a lotta heat!) in a matter of seconds to the top of the ionosphere, the outer layer of our atmosphere. As the pulse pushes up through the atmosphere, it creates a corresponding vacuum below,
BECOME A TALK SHOW HOST
causing winds to rush in. These microwave beams can be directed over the curvature of the earth, thereby affecting weather systems around the world. There are also HAARP installations in Norway, Puerto Rico and other locations around the world. Some are small enough to be placed on ships or trucks. They all work in concert with the Alaskan installation via satellite. The One-Two Punch Through Ionospheric heating experiments, scientists have found they can
cause or intensify hurricanes, droughts, floods, tornados, and even earthquakes. Here’s an example of how droughts and floods are created and related. The aluminum, barium and strontium nanoparticles are dessicants and pull moisture from the soil, plants, animals (and us), creating artificial cirrus clouds. These clouds are manipulated by ionospheric heaters to alter weather cycles. For example, California’s scant humidity is carried by the jet stream over the Rocky Mountains, where it mixes with Arctic air. The cold air causes the moisture laden nanoparticles to collect, forming raindrops heavy enough to fall in such quantities that the Midwest gets flooded, while the West Coast endures years of drought. Elana Freeland uses the phrase “dump and pump” to describe the dependence that storm-steering mechanisms such as HAARP have on aerosol trails loaded with conductive metal particulates. Will Thomas prefers to characterize the same process as “spray and zap.” Chemtrails are the medium—directed microwave energy is the method. Weather Warfare In 1998 the U.S. Air Force released its seminal document, “Weather as
a Force Multiplier: Owning the Weather by 2025.” This document publicly revealed that the military-industrial complex considers weather a weapon in its pursuit of “full-spectrum dominance.” Who Benefits? Crop failure drives farmers to sell cheap to big agribusiness. Devastating hurricanes mean profits when big contractors rebuild. Freeland writes, “Whole nations can be brought to heel with economic privation or the threat thereof.” Naomi Klein describes “…the advent of a new kind of slippery capitalism willing to orchestrate destructive events in order…” to extract material gain from the targeted. Peter Kirby states that the military carries out the spraying, but orders come from Wall Street energy companies, insurance companies, and weather-derivatives investors. Of course we taxpayers foot the bill and ingest the many toxic components of the aerosols, while global warming accelerates. Our next two articles will discuss geoengineering’s damage to the biosphere and ways you can protect your health. ~ Resources ~ Carnicom, Clifford, Carnicom.com Freeland, Elana, Chemtrails, HAARP, and the Full Spectrum Dominance of Planet Earth Kirby, Peter A.. Desert or Paradise: Restoring Endangered Landscapes Using Water Management, Including Lake and Pond Construction by Sepp Holzer ISBN-13: 978-1603584647 (Chelsea Green Publishing-2012)
My friend, Michael DiMartino, made me aware of the impending water problems we face and at the same time, the solutions if we simply have the will to do so. This book really nails what is going on that we, as a society, need to change. For instance, we should eliminate factory livestock farming, regulate water usage, restore or construct lakes and ponds for water storage, etc. You can listen to my interview with Michael on this subject on BBSradio/ SpiritualActivist or on the Lotus Guide You Tube Channel. It goes without saying that a child under the age of five having a Near Death Experience would have profound effects on them in later years, but what I found even more curious were the births of babies maintaining a conscious recall of the process. This is surely telling us that something amazing is on the horizon for human beings on this planet. Lot’s of research that demands attention.
Sometimes we need a good reminder as to what is important and helpful; for instance, when you read these words “take a deep breath”, what did you just do? Most of us breath just enough to stay alive and this book is a great reminder that “breath” is the connecting link between spirit, mind and body, the one thing that operates on an unconscious level that can be linked to consciously by our intent. Possibly the only common denominator to all religions who are so conflicted.

I particularly enjoyed Chapter 17 where the author addresses the unrealized potential of ADHD in our world. I wrote an article 10 years ago about the reality and dangers of ‘chemtrails” and received a lot of feedback on social media that it was a hoax and a conspiracy theory. Why? Because the corporate media said so, and now, the very same media is telling us that it’s not only true but good for us. They changed the name to Solar Radiation Management programs but a chemtrail by any other name is still a chemtrail. When does a theory become fact? When the evidence is so overwhelming that the guilty parties start admitting to it…we’re there. READ THIS BOOK!

I recently spoke with Michael Salla in Ventura, CA and I have to say that after reading all his books on this subject I am convinced that there is a secret space program. To talk about everything from Operation Paperclip to the present day would sound so far out there to most people that you can see why it is incomprehensible at best and unbelievable at worst. But what is believable is the fact that trillions of dollars are unaccounted for, over 22 trillion at the Pentagon alone. Where did it go? Rahasya Poe, Lotus Guide

Are You Getting Burned by Heartburn Drugs?
re you one of the millions of people who are taking proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) for acid reflux? If so, did you know they should only be taken for 2 - 8 weeks? Why? Because the FDA only approved them for short-term use. Are you aware that if you use them long term you are at greater risk for a host of complications? More and more studies indicate that taking PPIs beyond the short-term recommendations create serious side-effects that are detrimental to your body. If you have been taking PPIs for a while, you may already be feeling some of those side-effects from your own experience. Side effects may include diarrhea, constipation, a rash, headaches, excessive gas, or you may even still have heartburn. Fundamentally, PPIs are designed for short-term use only; yet they are frequently overprescribed and rarely “un-prescribed”. (See a list of common PPIs to the right). So despite the shortterm usage recommendations, the longer people take PPIs the more harmful the negative effects become.
2. Stomach acid is necessary to absorb our minerals and some of our vitamins. 3. Stomach acid acts as a natural antiseptic to prevent bacterial and viral infections in our gut. So when we create a disruption to the body’s stomach acid production, we are creating a disruption to several other bodily functions. What was one condition - heartburn - now has potentially grown into a systemic condition. Here’s how the side-effects of PPIs become systemic with long term use.
How PPIs Work PPIs work to block stomach acid, (the acidic nature is where the heartburn gets its name). However, PPIs don’t work because our bodies need stomach acid for the following reasons: 1. Stomach acid activates the body’s own enzymes to digest our food.
The Impact of PPIs on Your Digestive System The digestive system is impacted in several very negative ways, creating the potential for a cascade of additional problems. Since we loose the protective effect of acid in our stomach, we loose an important layer of prevention against bacterial and viral infections. For example, there is an increase in people who have been

taking PPIs long-term contracting C. diff (Clostridium difficle), which is difficult to treat, causes chronic diarrhea, and is a major cause of death in hospitalized patients. Since loosing the protective barrier also alters the micro biome, PPIs users have a higher risk of liver damage as well. Bacteria of the Enterococcus genus flourish and migrate to the liver where they cause inflammation and damage the liver’s ability to detoxify. Since stomach acid is necessary to absorb our minerals and some of our vitamins - but PPIs block their production - deficiencies result. For example: • Vitamin B-12 deficiency affects the brain and may result in balance issues, dementia, and nerve damage. • Iron deficiency may result in anemia. • Zinc deficiency reduces immune function, and thyroid hormone absorption. • Magnesium deficiency may result in heart-beat arrhythmias. • Calcium deficiency may contribute to osteoporosis, hip fractures or other fractures due to brittle bones. Finally allergy risk goes up – especially with age. In fact, those over 60 have 5x the increase in allergies for long term PPIs users. This is because inflammation of the gut/ mircrobiome (from the loss of stomach acid) may trigger increased allergies due to a leaky gut. Stomach acid activates the body’s own enzymes to digest our food, but when it is blocked by PPIs then undigested food sits in your gut, eventually eroding the lining of the stomach enough that particles of undigested food escape or “leak” into the blood stream. The Impact of PPIs on Your Circulatory System PPIs lower nitric oxide, which relaxes blood vessels. This may lead to higher blood pressure and hardening of the arteries. Cardio vascular effects include increase risk for heart attacks, and stroke (21% higher risk with PPI use). Other side effects include kidney disease, IBS, stomach cancer and even death! Those on PPIs have a 25% higher mortality rate, according to a study published in the British Medical Journal involving 350,000 United States veterans.
What Causes of Acid Reflux? 1. Weakening or inhibition of the mucous producing cells of the upper stomach from: • Medications such as Aspirin • Non-steroidal anti-inflammatories such as ibuprofen and naproxen. • Steroids (inhalers) • High levels of stress hormones 2. Poor digestion: Fermentation of foods by bacteria or yeast produce excess gas and force the lower esophageal sphincter to open up allowing the contents of stomach to ‘reflux’ or leak back. 3. Motility problems: Delayed transit of food through the digestive system (a.k.a. gastroparesis) can result in the system backing up. 4. Increased food sensitivities that promote gut inflammation.

Q: I’m afraid I’ll never find Mr. Perfect. Is he out there? The dating game is scary to me. A: No one is perfect. In the movie Good Will Hunting the counselor played by Robin Williams says the imperfections are the good part of a relationship. Working through conflicts in a positive way is expansive, gratifying, and trust building. Maintaining an unrealistic criterion can be a defense mechanism against getting involved. As you play the dating game, keep a journal where you note fears and insecurities as they come up from the unconscious. Ask yourself what’s the trigger for your reaction and try to identify similar past experiences. A positive statement such as “I don’t expect perfection but commitment to growth.” Let your goal be to have fun and learn more about men and yourself in relationship rather than finding a husband. The author of The Tao of Dating says the key to being ‘irresistible’ is to elevate the people around you. Men I’ve interviewed for several books concur that they gravitate to women who make them feel valued.
Q: You’re interviewing scientists for a book about the new non-materialist science. What are you finding? A: The dominant materialist philosophy about reality is wrong. The pretense of scientific objectivity is an illusion because human consciousness and intention even impacts machines (as in the Princeton Global Conscious Study using random number generators.) Quantum physics reveals that on the sub-atomic level everything exists in potentiality; it’s not matter until it’s observed or measured and all is connected. We only understand 5% of our universe, as the rest is dark energy and dark matter, about which very little is known. Yet academic resistance to change prevents young scientists from doing research on the effect of consciousness, labeled ‘pseudoscience’, despite thousands of double-blind replicated studies as described by author Dean Radin. If you’re interested in learning about reality, look at interviews with visionary scientists on my YouTube channel or email to read transcripts.
Q: How can progressives win in elections and convince some of the 40% who approve of a racist, sexist, climate change denier, and mentally disordered president? A: Cassandra Vieten teaches how to be effective in changing minds (as does my book Resist! Goals and Tactics for Changemakers). She points out that information and logic are only 10% of why we change our minds. Preaching too much data and tales of woe cause people to withdraw to flight or fight. The change message should be 1/3 information, 1/3 how to make change, and 1/3 a vision for the future. Vieten is involved with a consulting group called Campaign Science.

Q: Since I was having trouble quitting smoking, I turned to vaping, but I’m reading that it has caused hundreds of injuries and over eight deaths. How can I quit? A: Join a smoking cessation group to get support and learn how other people quit. It helps to quit with a buddy. “Popcorn lung” is not something you want. https:// www.health.com/smoking/vaping-what-ispopcorn-lung Q: My kid is addicted to video games. How do I deal with it? A: It’s an acknowledged addiction in places like South Korea that have camps to help these young people. Ask your child, “What do you think about people
who are addicted to drugs or cigarettes? Do you think you might be addicted to video games?” Pediatricians advise limited time in front of screens because they harm your brain. Let’s make a list of healthy fun activities to do instead of sitting crunched over. You as the parent must set firm limits on screen time and provide alternatives, including unstructured free play so they can learn independence. Q: My ex-boyfriend is a narcissist and unfaithful, but I keep being attracted to him. What’s up? A: We attract familiar relationships until we become conscious of the patterns we learned from our family of origin and release them. Cognitive talk therapy can help in this clearing, but we often need to remove the energetic blocks by using energy psychology therapies that work with the meridians, chakras, brain hemisphere balance and eye movement. Acknowledge your attraction to your ex, call a buddy to help you stay strong when you’re tempted to call him, or take a walk to interrupt your old habit. It helps to understand your personality types: check out www. bodygraph.com to see your connections, and other personality tests described in my Essential Energy Tools: How to Develop Your Clairvoyant and Healing Abilities. Q: I’m going to have surgery. What can I do to prepare? A: Imagine having a talk with your body and explaining the procedure, including sending mental pictures. Set the intention to put any negative patterns in the area that will be removed so they too can be released. Ask the anesthesiologist or other person present at the procedure to read instructions to your unconscious mind about healing quickly and well, without pain. A person who comes to our Wednesday energy balancings did this before her hip replacement and reported not having to take pain medications after the surgery.

Body & Mind
Say Goodbye to Illness By Vickie Van Scyoc, RN & Mark Light, MD
A
re you one of those people who are plagued by allergies? Does the advent of spring send you running indoors? Do you tense up when certain foods are near you? Do you avoid specific clothes or fabrics or cleaning products? If so, you probably have been dealing with allergies for years. If not, you may not realize the full extent of the impact that allergies can have on any of us.
Allergies as a Cause of Illness An allergy is a condition of unusual sensitivity of a person to one or more substances which may be harmless to the majority of other individuals. When contact is made with an allergen, it
causes blockages in the energy pathways in the body called meridians, disrupting the normal flow of energy through the body’s electrical circuits. This energy blockage causes interference in communication between the brain and body via the nervous system. This begins a chain of events that can develop into an allergic reaction. The result of energy imbalances in the body leads to a diminished state of health in one or more organ systems. Undiagnosed allergies are often the cause of common or chronic illnesses, which when left untreated can become serious or critical. Traditional Allergy Treatments The standard treatment for allergies is drug therapy using either antihistamines or steroids to control allergic symptoms. Unfortunately, this does not correct the underlying problem and often the allergy sufferer experiences serious long-term side effects. The most effective treatment option until now has been complete avoidance of the offending allergen or allergens,
which can be difficult and in some cases impossible. A New Technique to Eliminate Allergies (NAET) NAET is an innovative treatment for allergies that is completely natural, painless and non-invasive. This method can be safely used on anyone, even newborn infants, the elderly, patients in a coma, and pets. NAET can also be used to treat seemingly healthy individuals with hidden allergies that could cause illness in the future. By reprogramming the brain, NAET (Nambudripad’s Allergy Elimination Technique) allows the body to regain perfect balance and function normally again to achieve optimum health. How Does NAET Work? NAET is a synthesis of various medical disciplines such as allopathy, acupuncture, chiropractic, kinesiology and nutrition. During a NAET treatment, the practitioner stimulates pressure points along the spine from the neck to the sacrum while
the patient is holding an allergen. Next, specific acupressure points are massaged to stabilize the treatment. In most cases, one session is all that is required to eliminate an allergy. Individuals who are highly sensitive may sometimes require additional treatments. What Conditions Does NAET Treat? NAET has been successfully used to treat a wide variety of conditions in people from birth to old age. Typical allergies such as hay fever and food allergies can be completely eliminated so that the person has no reaction when exposed to the same allergens such as pollens, dust, mold, grass or specific foods. It is particularly effective with ADD, addictions, anxiety, migraines, insomnia, ear infections, hormone imbalances, and many other conditions. The creator of NAET, Dr. Devi Nambudripad says, “There is hardly any human disease or condition where allergic factors are not involved.” The wide variety of complaints that have been eliminated by NAET is testament to this observation. Who is the Creator of NAET? Dr. Devi Nambudripad is trained as a medical doctor (MD), chiropractic doctor
(DC), and is a licensed Acupuncturist (Lac). She also holds a PhD degree! Plagued by countless allergies from a very early age, Dr. Devi was on a mission to heal herself and live a ‘normal’ life.
Her knowledge of Eastern and Western medicine gave her the insight and guidance to discover a treatment for allergies discovered as she experimented on herself to remedy her lifelong debilitating food allergies. Once she successfully treated herself, she undertook years of research and experimentation to refine her techniques to help other allergy sufferers around the world. NAET is now a complete system of allergy diagnosis and treatment practiced only by trained medical professionals who are certified by Dr. Nambudripad and her staff.
What Do Doctors Say about NAET? Robert Prince, MD, is a certified NAET practitioner who says his medical practice was completely changed once he added NAET to his work with patients. “NAET has truly revolutionized the practice of medicine! I have no doubt this is going to be the ‘Medicine of the Future.’” And three-time United States Olympic physician Mike Greenberg, DC, says, “Dr. Devi’s technique helped to give my worldclass athletes a winning edge!” Acupuncturist and Osteopath Dr. Jan K Steele, says “I have seen NAET put extremely sick patients back in control of their lives once again! After completion of the NAET treatment program, they are free of symptoms, free of excessive medications, and free to enjoy good health. You can try NAET today, too, and discover what life can be like when you are allergy-free. For more info, please visit ChicoIntegrativeHealth.com

The Re-Memberment of The Phoenix
By Annie Fuller
C
amp Fire survivors have been likened to the phoenix, the mystical bird that dies by fire, becomes ash, and then at some point rises up and flies again. This is a classic template of rebirth. In the last issue of The Lotus Guide I wrote about what happens to the phoenix when it’s in the ashes and how this affects us. I called the process ‘dismemberment’. Dismemberment takes place on a deep soul level. All that was known is broken apart, and we must come back together for rebirth to occur. Re-memberment is the process that makes us whole enough to rise. After the fire I thought, “If I can just
get back to the emotional state I was in before...” I was feeling great. Seeing clients. Doing chi gong every day in my healing studio. Excited for winter to come when I planned on nesting and finally finishing my book. But one day I realized there was no going back. Only forward. I had changed. As a phoenix is still covered with ash, we’re each in the midst of mysterious transformation and metamorphosis. Every survivor went through massive trauma, individually as well as collectively. From a shamanic perspective, trauma creates soul loss. Here’s the good news: one of the functions of the human soul is to serve as a nurturing mother. When we experience trauma, part or parts detach and go to a place in the spiritual realm. This allows us to survive in this earthly realm. We fled burning houses. Drove down fiery streets. Saved frightened children. Lost loved ones. Endured. Persevered. Soul loss occurs in all traumatic events. (Think about your life as a whole.) Soul, as nurturing mother, keeps us from going insane.
THE MOUNTAIN ASTROLOGER
The bad news is: Do we ever really recover from trauma? Our soul parts are part of us. We’re affected by their state of being. No matter how much time elapses, we end up living in two realities. The reality of the ‘now’, as we try moving forward in our lives, and the reality of the ‘past’, where our soul part(s) still exist. They’re living in the trauma and dissociation of the relentless and ferocious Camp Fire. It’s one year later. Intellectually we know the fire is out, yet we’re still struggling to feel safe and present. Are you afraid? Angry? Spaced out? Ungrounded? Overcome with emotion? Are you unable to sleep? Having nightmares? Has your confidence waned? Do you feel like something is missing? Are you easily triggered? Unable to find yourself? This is soul loss, or what is psychologically called ‘post-traumatic stress disorder’. Our task is to heal. Come into present time. It’s our only way out of the ashes. How does one accomplish what feels like such a daunting undertaking? I’ve
chosen soul retrieval, an ancient shamanic tradition that involves finding, healing, and then restoring lost soul parts. Many find success with EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). Traditional talk therapy can be helpful, yet does not necessarily heal and bring back the suffering parts. They need to know the trauma is over, and it’s safe to come home to the soul where they belong. Many years ago a teacher told me, “The past is over, throw it away.” I got so angry. But over time I’ve been able to see the wisdom within what I initially experienced as a rude statement. We cannot go back. Maybe that’s actually the first step of healing; accepting that the fire happened. Everything is different now. Nothing will be the same. Still in the ashes myself, I’ve been noticing that the filters/lenses I viewed life through (we all have them), are gone. Burned away. I’m seeing everything from completely different perspectives. This
is empowering, yet has not been without difficulties. I had become accustomed to my self-created lenses born of childhood wounds and life experiences. Now I get to see what has always been there, things I formerly hid from myself. Take responsibility for my part. Make new choices. While this has been both awakening and humbling, I’ve also experienced an expansion of my compassion and heart. I like that. I suppose these are pearls from the fire.
We are all still being ‘re-membered’. Slowly coming back together and adjusting to our new lives. I don’t think one day we’ll wake up and magically rise and fly out of the ashes like the phoenix. It seems to be a more gradual process for us mere mortals. Little by little, day by day, we find ourselves. Laugh louder. Feel more whole. Perhaps notice the manifestation of a pearl or two. (I am voraciously writing my book!) I imagine some time, perhaps in a mystical moment, or more likely while I’m washing dishes, I’ll realize I’ve risen. Here I am! Not the same as before, because we know the past is over, yet hopefully a more refined, loving, and present version of myself. These and limitless more opportunities are awaiting every survivor. After all, we are Phoenix. Annie Fuller is an international spiritual healer/teacher. She lost her home in the Camp Fire and recently relocated to Chico. Should We Be Normal in an Abnormal World?
usually look around in the larger world for things to write about, whether it’s 5G, vaccinations, are we are alone in the universe, 911, geoengineering, the eminent financial collapse, well, there are a lot of things to write about in today’s world. But lately coming into contact with local people coming through the Lotus Guide Center here in Paradise I can see that there’s plenty to think about right here at home at this moment. But let me go back in time and share my own experience with you regarding the subject of being normal. There was a time in my life when I wanted to start giving back to society and I realized one of the best ways was to help young adolescents who were going through drug recovery so I became a counselor in San Diego. Little did I know at the time that there were rules and regulations that were going to challenged me; I’ve never really responded all that well to authority so it was interesting to say the least. I was getting in trouble because I was taking the kids to the beach and showing them how to do the “active meditations” that were instrumental in helping me deal with addiction. After parents’ complaints to the institute I was working at kept piling up I was told that I needed to quit teaching them active
meditations because of the religious implications. But my first and only concern were the kids so I changed the term to “stress relief exercises” and continued on. This also led to the writing of a book called The 12 Spiritual Laws of Recovery & Meditations for the 12 Step Program. I might add that I was the only counselor there that the parents asked if I could do individual counseling with their kids, why, because the kids that I counseled did better when returning home. But I can’t take credit for this because what I was teaching them had its roots in ancient esoteric Sufism, bioenergetics, somatic therapies, Werner Earhart (EST), Gurdjieff & Ouspensky and OSHO. Unless you go to India you would have a difficult time finding the unadulterated forms that I came into contact with while in Pune, India. Even further back in time I studied bioenergetics by Alexander Lowen
and followed the movement at that time which focused on using physical movement to release stress held in the body. Looking back, it seems that I had a lifetime of preparation that prepared me to meet my life partner, Dhara Lemos, who by a strange coincidence has been teaching these meditations for over 30 years. So exactly what is this about? The easy and best way to explain this process is to explain it in terms that we can all relate to. Remember back when you were a young child and were frustrated, usually because you didn’t get your way! What did you do? If you were fortunate enough to have parents that would let you express yourself, you would throw a temper tantrum, kick, scream and jump up and down. Why did you do this? It wasn’t because you gave it thought and had some kind of strategy. The truth be told, you were out of control and out of your mind in that moment. What
was in control was your body that was releasing that frustrated energy because your body intrinsically knew how to run that energy out and release it. So what happened? Well, we grew up and became “normal”, that’s what happened. Our parents, teachers, professors, priests, and preachers told us to obey the social norms by going to our rooms and be quiet, stop fidgeting and of course men’s favorite thing to say to a female, “calm down” which by the way, you should never say to an adult woman…ever. And we do, we stop moving, we go to our rooms, both inner and outer, and stuff it down deep so we can walk around in society and not cause a disturbance and look normal. What comes to mind right now is in the old movie, Network, where everyone goes to their windows and scream at the top of their lungs, “I’m mad as hell and I’m not going to take it anymore!” As I look around at our communities that have gone through so much I can see that many of us are there…we’re mad as hell and we “can’t” take much more. We have stuffed our emotions down and stopped fidgeting to the point that we are getting sick emotionally and physi-
cally…and maybe to some degree, spiritually. Aldous Huxley once said, “The real hopeless victims of mental illness are to be found among those who appear to be most normal.” So don’t look around in your world for meaning when it comes to what is normal. It’s no great accomplishment to be called normal in an abnormal world. So you may be asking, “What can I do?” Once again I will only speak in reference to my own direct experience. 1st: Don’t be all that concerned about what people think about you, the truth be told, they probably don’t think about you as often as you imagine anyway. 2nd: Turn off the TV and if you have kids, sit down at the dinner table together, without the smart phones and hear what they have to say. 3rd: Eat organic non-GMO foods that haven’t been sprayed with toxic chemicals. 4th: At the very minimum, go for a halfhour walk twice a week. 5th: Find some kind of therapy/exercise that requires movement on your part, yoga, Pilates, the gym, hiking, active meditation, etc. But now for you brave souls who are not normal by today’s standards; if you

The Brain, the ECS & Cannabinoids in brain research because almost every cell can be mapped to the human brain. One most interesting similarity that has been found is that the brains of mammals (including humans) and fruit flies communicate in the same way and use one key system to maintain brain homeostasis: the endocannabinoid system (ECS). First discovered in the early ‘90s, the ECS is the reason endocannabinoids evolved so early within the history of life and why they are a key field of study in brain health today. The first clue to the widespread nature of the endocannabinoid system By Amabelle Dela Cruz began when Dr. Allyn Howlett first discovered the CB1 receptor in 1989. It was he brain is known to be the most a technical triumph that answered a quescomplex of human organs—said tion neurochemists had been working on to contain 100 billion neurons, for a decade: How did the THC molecule which is nearly as many stars as said to be of cannabis affect everyone in such differin the Milky Way galaxy. biggest breakthroughs for brain health. The CB1 receptors found on the basal ganglia and the globus pallidus regulate movement, while the ones in the hippocampus are key for learning, memory, and stress. There are CB1 receptors in the hypothalamus that control appetite, some in the medulla where nausea and vomiting are triggered, in the spinal cord, and in the cerebral cortex where higher-level thinking occurs. Not long after the discovery of the CB1 receptor, the CB2 receptor was identified. It was found to be present on the immune cells in almost every organ of the body. When a brain experiences an insult or damage, CB2 receptors activate as part of one’s protection system. There are two key sources of cannabinoids in our brain: the endocannabinoids that we create ourselves and phytocannabinoids from the cannabis plant (CBD and THC are the most studied) that we can ingest. The first endogenous neurotransmitters found are called anandamide and 2-arachidonoyl glycerol (2-AG). Now, six of them have been identified along with a host of cellular machinery to help regulate the endocannabinoid system. While the body has its own supply of cannabinoids, supplementing with phytocannabinoids, like CBD, can optimize this balancing act when needed. But how exactly do these cannabinoids work in the body? The CB1 receptor is activated by THC and is the main pathway responsible for the ‘high’ effect of cannabis. Anandamide also activates the CB1 receptor and gained its reputation as our ‘neurotransmitter of bliss’. Curiously, CBD does not directly activate the CB1 receptors. Instead, it does something called negative allosteric modulation. When CBD is present, it binds to a side pocket of the CB1 receptor and slightly changes the receptor’s shape, preventing other molecules (such as THC) from creating strong connections to the CB1 receptor and protects the brain from an overwhelming psychoactive experience. CBD can also prevent or reduce the intoxicating effects of THC.
The CB1 and CB2 receptors have also both been found to be important for maintaining the blood brain barrier. More recently, activation of the CB2 receptor has been shown to promote neurogenesis – the creation of new brain cells. This is especially intriguing because brain scientists weren’t even sure that neurogenesis was real until an experiment in 1998. Before that, it was thought that by the age of 2 or so, all the cells in the brain would be complete and developed and the only thing that changed would be the strength of synaptic connections between
them. However, it was discovered that the creation of new brain cells is a vital process in a healthy brain – especially in the hippocampus, a key part of memory storage. In his review, The Endocannabinoid System and the Brain, Dr. Mechoulam lays out the many ways the endocannabinoid system is involved in the creation of new brain cells. CB1 is expressed in many developing areas of the brain, the activation of CB1 is necessary for the growth of new axons between neurons, the endocannabinoid system drives the creation of brain stem cells, and the endocannabinoids promote neurogenesis. However, neurogenesis is a complicated process still undergoing intense study and is not solely regulated by the cannabinoids. While the discovery of the ECS has taken us far in research, science has discovered that cannabinoids from the plant may interact with more parts of the brain than the cannabinoid receptors and their associated endocannabinoid machinery. One rather unique property of THC and CBD is that they effect many molecular targets. Most drugs only interact with one or two receptors or enzymes – but THC and CBD cause a huge range of
changes in addition to the ones caused in the cannabinoid receptors. They interact with serotonin receptors, dopamine receptors, opioid receptors, as well as the two key neurotransmitters for excitation and inhibition: glutamate and GABA. While phytocannabinoids like CBD have shown great potential, there is still much we cannot say about the benefits of hemp CBD supplements. More clinical trial research is needed to find out exactly how these phytocannabinoids can be harnessed for human health. We may not truly solve the complexity of the human brain, just as we cannot accurately count the vast number of skies in our galaxy. But we can posit certain activities that help us – like making health and nutritious food choices, getting an appropriate amount of exercise, and taking our CBD. As research continues on the involvement of the endocannabinoid system and the brain, it’s an exciting time to learn how we can live longer, richer, more fulfilled lives. id you know that your mind and body are manifesting your outer reality, which is a reflection of our individual and collective consciousness? You could say that the body is your tuning fork that determines what vibrations are taking form in your personal reality. Everything we see, taste, touch, smell, or hear has a name and definition in the dictionary and also has a corresponding frequency. These vibrations are either natural and healing or unnatural and hostile to the body. Each word we hear or speak has the vibration of any emotions we have attached to it, every sentence and concept. Virtual reality works through sound/words, which produces light, electricity, colors, and forms.
Edward Bernays, the pioneer of public relations, proved that the masses could be manipulated by convincing them to agree with their own demise through word and mind control. Bernays stated: “If we understand the mechanism and motives of the group mind, it is now possible to control and regiment the masses according to our will without them knowing it.” Whoever or whatever controls the meanings of words and the narratives being broadcast through the various educational systems, media outlets, and religious teachings controls the people who trust others rather than their own divine wisdom. The negative repercussions of this are glaringly obvious in today’s world.
Vibrational healing is now recognized as a valid approach to good health given that everything, including the body has a signature vibration, and when these vibrations are harmonious, the body and one's reality are harmonious. Disease is the lack of ease because of disharmony. Royal Rife and his soundhealing machine cured dis-ease using healthy and harmonious vibrations. The virtual reality, that we are very much a part of, is generated through sound that we produce. Our body can be seen as a musical instrument beginning with the bones as the crystal network, and our breath that produces sounds through the manipulation of vocal chords and resonated through the sinus cavity. As we infuse our words with emotion we manifest the reality around us.

What are all the rules, laws, books, stories, education, media, etc. made from? Words! Pick up the Oxford Dictionary and there you will find the blueprints for our reality and the world we live in. But there are no words in this system that have anything to do with us, given that who we are cannot be defined by words. The thinker is never the thoughts just as the artist is never the painting. Spiritual teachings give us clues, keys that we use to unlock, experience and actualize our eternal divine spirit/soul nature, powers and abilities. Artificial intelligence (AI) is already controlling humanity through the intellectual, entertainment, sports, and religious systems, not too mention the Internet. Melodies and lyrics of songs also carry beliefs and realities and if a person listens to or sings with emotions it makes an impact on the person and influences, or should we say, manifests through that person as their reality. Repetition of words with music, such as slogans, popular songs and dramatic gut-wrenching stories evoke
emotional reactions that become stronger and become our beliefs. This is how a lie told long enough becomes what people believe is true. Only you are real and eternal. All else is transitory and temporary like a movie projection. This is a sound basedvibrational electromagnetic reality. Notice how you are reacting to words and concepts, especially the ones that generate an emotional reaction of fear, guilt, failure, loss, and scarcity, or threatens your belief system. Besides the sound of words, our emotional reactions to words, spoken by us or by others, have a frequency that will and must manifest through the biological crystal prism technology of the liquid crystal brain, which is a whole subject in itself. “Everything you see is formed by thought/word, vibration/light and is fueled by this continuous flow of energy, continuous overthinking. A light beam, neuron (neither positive or negative) connection of a word/thought-form sends an electric message that, like a seed, complete with all the information it needs to manifest vibration, color, and form into this virtual reality.” Bryan Kemila Music is sound and the basic sound of musical instruments has to do with the frequency the instruments are tuned to. The standard now is 440 hertz that was set in the 1930's and is disharmonious, whereas, 432 hertz is the vibration of the pituitary gland and harmonious with the body. I have my piano tuned to 432 and it feels good!
Your own voice when tuned to your most natural healing and inspiring vibration is even greater and more glorious in every way than any other musical instrument. I do not mean that you need to become a professional singer, because words are sounds and sounds are vibrations and vibrations are energy and energy gives off light/electricity. Our own voice is our tuning fork. Attitudes are vibrations, and harmonious attitudes manifest themselves as health, prosperity and loving relationships; but downer- attitudes such as worry, fear, envy, and anger produce disharmonious vibrations and realities. To clear any stoppages, obstacles, or disharmonious programs from running and controlling any aspect of your life, career, relationships, prosperity and eternal good fortune, I invite you to email me with your phone number or arrange an in person counseling session or spiritual healing session by love offering.
