1.ARAS PARAS- IMAGINE, THINK AND MAKE Semester: III Site location : Mandu, Madhya Pradesh Structure: Load bearing Material: Brick Design: Architecture studio Faculty: Neelkanth Chaaya. Sujan Umariya, Darshan Ajudia The aim of the studio was to understand the tangible and intangible aspect of architecture design and also develop the understanding of the order of structure and the order of space. Using 12 regular geometric units of 16-25 sq.mtrs each, the challenge was to design and unobstructed space of 256 sq.mtrs. using brick as the only building material. The larger unobstructed space would function as an architecture studio while the supporting 12 units would house functions like library, workshop, resting spaces.

2. INTRODUCTION TO HOUSING Semester IV Site Location: Ahmedabad,Gujarat Site Area 6400 Sq.mtrs. Structure: Frame Structure Faculty: Parag Mistry, Imran Mansuri The aim of the studio was to design affordable housing for economically weaker and middle income section in the development of housing in high density low rise urban environment in a site in eastern ahmedabad setting to examine ways in which modular compositions can be arranged to create public and private spaces and connections with thier existing urban surroundings.

SITE LOCATION The site is located in Patel Mills, Gomtipur, Ahmedabad having a direct access from the Sarangpur bridge with a total area of 6400 sq.mtrs. Although the mill stopped in 2005, but the informal settlement increased around the mill. Housing Studio Aimed To Design Units And Cluster Assemblies Considering Strategies Of Linking And Stacking Of Units Such That There Is Optimal Space For Housing Unit, Allows Incrementality And Have Shared Walls. The Programme Included Designing Three Types Of Units; A,B,C To Accomodate Two, Four And Six People Respectively Which Could Be Modified On The Basis Of Circulation, Services And Structural Grid. The Housing Project Was Required To Have Fifty Percent Of Unit A And Fifty Percent Of Unit B And Unit C. 10

SITE LOCATION The site is located in shahpur , ahmedabad near to civil hopital. the site has direct access from main road (17.5m wide) on the eastern side, jetabhai parmar garden which is public garden on north while the west and the south of the site has residential edges. the site has an area of 1800 sq.mtrs. with an exisitng urban development centre.

MURUD, MAHARASTRA Location: Tamim house, Murud Group members: Gresha, Dhwani, Kamil, Pratik, Prutha The Tamin house, house of a respected family in the village of Murud was documented to understand the typology of the Islamic house, and the lifestyle of the people residing in the village. The documentation included hand inked plan and elevations which were meausred on site and then drawn on gateway sheets.
