The building concept is generally based on the sun-sensitive building automation to save energy and make it green. The facades of the tower incorporate photo-voltaic cells, generating approximately five per cent of the total required energy from renewable energy sources. A solar-responsive dynamic shading screen further decreases solar gain. These screens are adjusted and move according to the required sunlight throughout the day and also reduces energy consumption. These moveable panels mediate daylight and reduce glare. The system is driven by renewable energy derived from the photo-voltaic panels. This makes building automated and green. Building automation is the automatic centralized control of a building's heating, ventilation and air conditioning, lighting and other systems through a building management system or building automation system (BAS). The objectives of building automation are improved occupant comfort, efficient operation of building systems, reduction in energy consumption and operating costs, and improved life cycle of utilities.
Closed Kinetic modules protect the building from direct radiation and contribute to reducing energy consumption. Modules can be manually adjusted for some particular spaces.
A brand is the image and personality of a product or service that a business provides. A product’s features, such as logos or slogans, make it unique and different. In today’s times, brands are more than just a means of differentiating products. Today, brands also convey a promise. The promise is that the product you buy will meet the standards the manufacturer seeks to deliver. Brands are intangible reputational assets. In fact, they are the most valuable asset of many corporations. Intangibles are assets you cannot touch, they have no physical form, but are valuable for the company. Also, in commercial interior design, designing of brand showrooms is the most common and one of the most highly paying projects for an architect.
Wilayat Manzil is one of the oldest buildings located in Aligarh Muslim university, Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, India. Originally spanning an area of 32 biga now stands on a land of 14,125 sq. Meters , this timeless structure constructed by Mr. Habibullah khan in the year 1916. The two storied structure provided residence to the family's many generations until 18th July, 1961 when the building was handed over to the university. This exposed brickwork building has undergone a lot of changes- some due to nature and others due to human intervention.
Wilayat Manzil now accommodates the faculty of theology, which is one of the oldest faculties of AMU established by sir Syed Ahmed khan. The faculty is unique for having both Sunni and Shia theology departments along with graduate, post-graduate and doctorate degrees, which is the only kind among all Indian universities. It had many outstanding and world famous scholars like Maulana Abdul Lateef Rahmani, Maulana Suleiman Ashraf, etc. who have many books and research papers published along with delivered inter-faith lectures overseas. The site has its main entrance on the north east side which, in the early days, has a solid wooden door attached between two massive columns and copper placards each weighing 3kg , announcing the name of the resident structure, stepping withing the site boundaries, the stone pot comes into view that is still present at an age of 110 years.
There are two ways to build a house on a sloped lot: using the “cut and fill” method, or making use of stilts. Cut and fill refers to the process of leveling out the ground for the foundation by adding soil, removing it, or both. Soil may be brought in to “fill” the plot and make it level, or it can be dug (“cut”) from the slope and either trucked out or used to shore up retaining walls for the home.
