BUYER: This was marked $19.99 CLERK: Yeah? BUYER: Well, I’ve only got seven dollars set aside for this. STYLIST: So what are we going to do today? CLIENT: Well, I’d like the highlights, but for now, I can only pay for a trim. STYLIST: Okay, so today we’re only going to do the trim? CLIENT: No, the highlights, but I can only pay for the trim. MALE: I mean, we went to the taco stand, it was what? FEMALE: About twelve dollars. MALE: Right, right, right... about twelve dollars. SERVER: Sir, we’re not the taco stand. MALE: No, it was beef, same thing as I had here. SERVER: You had the filet. MALE: yeah... cow. BUYER: Okay, let me make a phone call, see what I can do. Maybe I can get you eight-fifty. Can you do eight-fifty? CLIENT: I’ll pay for the highlights next time, but for now I need you to just go ahead and throw them in. STYLIST: So, basically you want me to work for free? CLIENT: No, I don’t want you to work for free. It’s just a test. That way I can see if my husband likes it, and then you can roll the cost over into the next time I need color... if he likes it. MALE: I went through and line-itemed some of the stuff we could just remove. BUYER: I’m not making any money on this either. You gotta help me out. CLERK: We’ve got a discount bin. BUYER: I know. I’ve checked the discount bin, but I want this one. We can do this. This is not a challenge, this is an opportunity. MALE: We tried, what? Three entrees. SERVER: You ordered three entrees sir. MALE: Yeah, we ordered, but does order mean eating? BUYER: What’s your name? CLERK: Todd. BUYER: Todd, you’ve gotta work with me. CLERK: That one’s $19.99 BUYER: Mike, Com’ on... Let’s do this, let’s do this! CLERK: It’s Todd, dude. CLIENT: I can cover your hard costs, but that’s really as far as I’m willing to go. BUYER: I’ll give you $8.50 today. I’ll come back next Tuesday. We’re going to make it up on the next one. What d’ya say? CLERK: What? MALE: Ah, excellent. Um... we’ll go ahead and pay this this time. But what we’re going to need you to do is show us how you made it so we can do it on our own in-house... from now on. Dude, It was a great dinner.
