DEEP CREEk FaRmER’S maRkET REaDy FOR SECOnD SEaSOn

Newly added last year, the Deep Creek Farmer’s Market is open Memorial Day through Labor Day in the parking lot at Garrett College. The outdoor market features dozens of local farmers, vendors, and artisans. Market goers can enjoy food prepared on site, drinks prepared by Liberated Libations, local produce shopping, and more. Governor Wes Moore has recommended local attorney Liz George to the Maryland Senate for appointment to the Maryland Economic Development Commission. The process began in the spring of 2023, where Liz testified in front of the Senate Nominations Committee who then voted and approved. After approval, her name was sent to the Senate for a full vote, which was approved there, as well.

WiSP RESORT makES uPgRaDES

Prior to the winter season, Wisp Resort General Manager Ron Hawkes released an update detailing several upgrades to the resort. While most of the upgrades were consumer facing, there were several ‘behind the scenes’ upgrades to help the resort run smoothly. For the slopes and winter season, upgrades were made to the lifts, the lodge, and the snowmaking equipment.
