Description RIA’s Innovation Conference is one of RIA’s major flagship events, focused on bringing rail innovators, clients and stakeholders together to solve some of the industry’s most pressing challenges. For two days in Nottingham, over 26 and 27 April, the rail industry comes together to explore how we deliver a more effective railway. The conferences have built an impressive track record over the last decade; they have become key diary dates for innovators in the UK

railway industry, in both the supply chain and in client and government organisations, offering a mix of information, networking and interaction to make innovation happen. Network Rail R&D This workshop will showcase different innovations undertaken by supply chain companies, exploring how collaboration across industry is key to overcome certain barriers. Come an learn how supply chain is transforming the industry.

UKRRIN Virtual Reality Showcase UKRRIN – The UK Rail Research and Innovation Network – is an academic and industrial partnership built around three centres of excellence – in Infrastructure, Rollings Stock and Digital Systems. The UKRRIN Centres have recently completed extensive new physical facilities, including investments of tens of millions of pounds in research and development rigs and equipment. Come along to the UKRRIN area to take part in high fidelity virtual reality tours of these facilities all over the country, and to speak to their owners about the potential for collaboration.

Overcoming barriers to Innovation Hosted by Connected Places Catapult, this workshop will look at how innovators can overcome barrier to roll out their innovations into an operational railway.

TOC Innovation in passenger experience This workshop will invite Train Operator Company (TOC) representatives, from South West Rail and LNER, to discuss innovation in passenger experience. The session will allow a forum of discussion between TOCs and supply chain, around the main challenges and innovative solutions to improve passenger experience.

Rail Technical Strategy: the role of cross-cutting and evolving technologies Batteries, sensors and digital twinning technologies are still progressing fast and offer cross-cutting opportunities to the rail industry. To support the development of the long term routemaps of the RTS, we have gathered some early insight on current practice and future trends of these technologies. Attendees will have the opportunity to complement, challenge, comment the insights gather to date, and discuss the implications and opportunities for rail that they present.

Evening Entertainment Beer Tasting For this year’ RIA innovation conference we our hosting are first in person beer tasting! We’ve partnered up with a local independent brewery called Braybrooke Beer Company. They will be producing 3 different lagers and on the day they will help us uncover the tastes and smells that are distinct with each of their beers, along with the preferred food pairings along with having the chance to take part in tasting our own limited edition Pale Lager called Innovation Inspiration Beer.
