1
The split between urban and interurban rail is based on the split in employee jobs in the ONS Business Register Employment Survey. On that basis it looks as if some parts of TfL Rail are counted in the former sector, and some in the latter. 2 Supplies of a capital nature are only captured in the analysis if they are provided to the rail transport system, or to the rolling stock leasing companies. Otherwise, supplies counted in 'general machinery' will be limited to parts and components, and machinery installation and repair. 'General construction' will be limited to minor repair and maintenance activities. 3 Indirect and induced impacts only capture privately-funded rather than taxpayer-funded activities, although this can include some charged-for public services. In addition, while induced impacts include actual property rental, no imputed owneroccupied rent is counted.
