FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
NEAL HILL RESIGNS AS PRESIDENT OF RSGH AMID MICROSOFT SCANDAL BOSTON, December 11, 1987 – Neal Hill, president of Rossin Greenberg Seronick & Hill (RGS&H) to resign from position, effective January 1st 1988. Ernie Capobianco, agency’s financial officer, will serve as interim president while the agency conducts a search for a new agency president. Hill’s bid for the Microsoft Corp. account included a submission of a flier – referring to the knowledge of a competitor’s plans. Insider information regarding the account of Lotus Development Corp. was obtained by hiring two new creative people who had worked on the account at Leonard Monahan Saaybe in Providence, R.I. “RSGH will continue its strategic focus on maintaining profitability and innovative marketing strategies,” said RGSH chairman, Jack Rossin. The agency said that Hill’s resignation was not connected to the Microsoft Corp. scandal but was for personal reasons. Neal Hill said, “we did not offer any “trade secrets” as we weren’t even aware any existed.” Regarding the letter in question he mentioned, “It was a third in a series which was taken out of context. The only information I alerted to, was the employment of people who had previously worked on Lotus. There is nothing uncommon about agency people working for a competitor of a former client.” RSGH has engaged the executive search firm Boston Group to assist in the search for Mr. Hill’s replacement.
