oday ITH meet Luca Fioramonti, an amazing fabric shop owner in the middle of Rome, Italy, where many fashion designers find everything they need to create their own trend. Here you can find any kind of fabric, which often can be turned in marvellous outfits. Let’s discover Luca’s tricks of the trade. ITH - Hi Luca, so here we are in your fantastic store! When did you become the owner? LUCA – Actually 5 years ago, but I’ve been working in the fabric sector since always. ITH – What can you tell us about customer’s needs? Have the demand been changing during these years? LUCA – Of course. People always change their lifestyle and so their sense of taste, their way to dress. ITH – As the customer’s needs, do you think the trend changes too?

LUCA – Absolutely! There’s always need to make something new. I mean every year, the discovery of new techniques involves different and, often unusual, materials which were used in other areas. This sector will never stop progressing! ITH – What kind of fashion designers come to buy in your shop? And what do they look for? LUCA – Mostly young stylists. They look for particular things: they usually ask for a bunch of different textiles or specific kinds of fabric to use in their “experiments”. ITH – What’s the most unusual request you’ve got? LUCA – I have so many kinds of fabric now, some very uncommon and when my customers ask even for the strangest thing, I don’t get so impressed anymore as I used to at the beginning. ITH – What do your common “not fashion designers” customers look for? LUCA – They often buy fabrics to make copies of signed garments or main clothes, actually asking for basic textiles. ITH – Do you think handmade passion is back or it’s just a way to get through the crisis? #trendith #ithmag

LUCA – Because of the crisis, I think! And yes, I guess people prefer to make things by hand saving much money as possible or maybe just to get busy and stop thinking at their problems for a while. ITH – What’s your favourite type of customer? LUCA – I really love working on fashion dresses and in the modern art sector in general. Not only in the fashion world but also theatre and eventually scenic design . Absolute creativity! ITH – What’s your favourite article in your store? LUCA – Fluid fabrics and knitwear. ITH – Do your customers come to show you their creations made using your goods? LUCA – Definitely yes! They often bring me their own creations and, I have to say, I am really pleased about it.

re you ready for the new frontier of space travel? This month we will consider a hypothetical interstellar travel, as the owner of Virgin Richard Branson proposes to us. For years we hear of possible journeys thanks to his company, and ITH Staff place the pet peeve of every traveler, “What should I pack?” To this question, our team has worked to find possible solutions ranging from a lipstick in zero gravity, at an atomic clock until you come to a pair of shoes with high

heels for walking on Mars “Earthlight!” or for a rendezvous with a Martian. What would you put in your suitcase? What indossereste in zero gravity? Our dreams lead us to imagine tight-fitting space suits and sexy as those of Japanese manga, but for now let your imagination run wilds. Maybe one day we will have to deal with the problems of the interstellar travels.

Jeans is made from Denim, a cotton fabric which gets its name from the French “de Nimes”, a little France town from where Denim originated. Denim was exported in the Genova’s port where was used for covering goods and making bags for sails. Due to its color it was named Blue de Genes from which Blue-Jeans. The turning point of the history of Blue-Jeans came in 1853. It was the age of gold rush in California when Levi Strauss and Jacob Davis produced the first clothes in blue canvas. FEATURING PEOPLE

FRANELLEE

de sire for the u n u s u a l

H

RAISSA DEFILA TO

ere Franelle the desire for the unusual blogger. She reply to our interview. - WHO ARE YOU? Hi, I’m Francesca from the fashionblog “Franellee - desire for the unusual”. - WHAT DO YOU DO IN YOUR LIFE? I’m studying Business Management at the moment and blogging is my big hobby. I love travelling and exploring new things, always under the influence of music. - WHEN DID YOU START THIS HOBBY? Well, the blogging just started last year when I used to live in London for a couple of months. I always was such a fashion and beauty lover, but I really never had the chance to work on it. Actually London gave me all the opportunities and a lot of inspirations to build up my own blog. - ARE YOU SATISFIED OF YOUR LIFE? I really am at the moment. Blogging about fashion and studying Business Management really fits into each other pretty well. Moreover, having the best family and friends by your site is always a big plus and makes me feel incredibly grateful. Of course I’m totally looking forward to spring and summer, which makes me even more satisfied!

26

- PROGRAMS FOR THE FUTURE? Well, I definitely want my blog to grow more and more, and I’m really hopeful that after my studies I’ll be able to connect my job with the fashion industry in some way, perhaps creating my own style to share on my blog. Moreover, I’d really like to travel much more in the future! - WHAT’S TRENDITH FOR YOU? Trendith for me is that you are who you are, through your own specific style, also in regard to all trends. I mean you don’t have to follow every trend that’s on the market, but creating your own style just by picking up a few trends which fit into your style and enhance it. - HOW DOES TREND(ITH) MATTER IN YOUR WORK? It plays a big role in my work, because I do not care as much as others about trends. Over the years I’ve been creating my own style, therefore I know what suits me fine and what I like, which makes shopping a lot more easier for me, haha! This is also a reason why I love vintage shops so much: it’s not the new line from a specific designer, but old treasuries where you never know what you’re going to find! - YOUR FAVORITE OUTFIT? At the moment, my favourite is this one, (picture called”my favourite outfit” attached in the email) It repwww.ithmag.com

resents all aspects of what I love. Firstly, this gorgeous t-shirt from Zara men section paired with this camel toned long blazer from H&M; black jeans and badass boots from Zara with chains so you’re ready to go, either for daytime or nightime! - THE OUTFIT THAT YOU HATE? I would never say that I particularly “hate” an outfit. Of course I would never wear anything that doesn’t satisfy me, but other people can really dress however they like. Some of them probably have total different fashion tastes or others could be not even interested in fashion at all. So, of course there are outfits I do not really like, but I’d never say I “hate” them. - WHO IS THE PERSON THAT INSPIRED YOU? I got a huge inspiration during the last years from the polish blogger “Maffashion”. I also love Kristina Bazan from “Kayture”, Chiara Ferragni from “The Blond Salad” (probably the most famous one in the blogger world) or “Kenzas” from Sweden. Such cool girls. - WHICH EVENT WOULD YOU LIKE TO JOIN? I never have been at the Fashion Week but I’d love to go there, maybe in Berlin, London or New York. I think this is a very special event for people who love fashion to death :)

- WHICH OUTFIT WOULD YOU LIKE TO HAVE IN THAT EVENT? It depends in which city I would be. At the London Fashion Week, I’d probably go for a layered look which is between being elegant and cool to be able to go to posh shows, while also feeling comfortable in my skin. I love the London Style anyway! - A TIP-OFF FOR YOUR FOLLOWERS? I can only tell that you should always do what you really want to do. Speaking of which, I’ve been spending to much time thinking about starting this blog. I was unsure about what other people could have thought of it or either me. If you want to achieve something which is your dream you have to risk it, because if you never try you’ll never know. - A TIP FOR YOUR HATERS? (if exists!) Hmm, I really never invest my time in thinking about people who don’t like what I do, neither if they would talk about me in a negative way. If I had the chance to talk to them I’d probably tell ‘em to build up their own effortless lifestyle, in that way they won’t judge other people for any reasons anymore!
