TECH-TILE is a project located at the Swinburne University of Technology. This project focuses on the use of technology in Swinburne, where through the use of robots and screens and projections, education is enhanced and provides an experience for users where they would not receive anywhere else in Swinburne. Technology plays an important not just in the education of students but also in the shaping of the architecture. Visual connectivity also plays an important part in this project to emphasise the role of technology in the campus building. Programs Used:

2. CHIMERIC DWELLING

View of the entire building structure.

CHIMERIC DWELLING is a group project that tries to integrate human living with nature, especially in forms of vegetation and animals. This project focuses more on human living with birds and cats. The idea of urbanisation tends to push biodiversity away, while a relationship between humans and nature are highly recommended as it helps in having people happier. The design, then, is to create a small apartment for 3 households with public functions; including a veterinary; shop; and a cafe. My focus is to design the aviary which has an open courtyard is placed to the back of the apartment where a wooden grid structure is placed to create dwellings for the birds. I also took the opportunity to design the facade and the form of the building. Programs Used:

3. VENTUS In this project, my focus is to document the plans and section of one of the buildings that consists of two towers. Each tower has a different function, one being a residential apartment and the other leased as office spaces. VENTUS is done in collaboration with other students to create and design a precinct in a suburban area of Melbourne. The aims are to maximise sunlight in winter and ventilate air to prevent strong winds at pedestrian level. Some students focus on designing the urban precinct area, while others focus on the architectural form and building facade that help maximise building performance. This was also one of 17 projects selected from Swinburne University of Technology’s School of Design to feature in DeZeen. Programs Used:

View of kitchen and living area

ANGLED HOUSE is a work-in-progress residential project located in Jakarta, Indonesia. The client is a middle-aged couple with two daugthers in their 20s where one still stay with them and the other occassionally coming back to Jakarta from overseas. The house is a 3-story modern home that consists of 3 bedrooms, with one master bedroom, one normal bedroom, and the last bedroom being an adaptable home office. It also has 4 bathrooms, with two of them being an ensuite. My task was to document the working drawings, including architectural, structural, and MEP drawings, while also occassionally modifying and editing the SketchUp model of the house along with my colleague.
