The project is to design a house for a yoga teacher and his family.
Commercial neighbourhood with busy roads. Thillai nagar, Tiruchirapalli

Swaasa, the breathing house allows the residents to feel connected to the outdoors without the noise or pollutions or the bad views from exteriors. It filters out and opens up selectively without totally shutting down from the natural sources of natural ventilation & lighting. The house is more introverted and opens to the cental tree courtyard.
It gets inspired from the regional vernacular architecture to create this peaceful home for the family.

Kamala, the regional cultural center situated in Tirupati is designed as space to celebrate the local arts, crafts, food, entertainment and vernacular architecture seeking a more balanced sustainable life. While acting as a space for recreation it keeps the local visitors in touch with their roots, for outsiders its a place to explore and inter act with the local culture.
This project is unique as its student specific. It included ideation, exploring local arts & crafts, site selection, justification, design pro gramming & then designing.

The central square is where to find ways or all the spaces lead to. Acts as an interactive social area with this artisan stall front.

The Museum area is a zig-zag pathway where every turn explores an unique art or craft from Rayalaseema. The openings & niches in the walls act as the space for exhibits while allowing for clerestory diffused lighting. To the right the green pockets & seating allow for relaxing.

VANIGAM, is the Trade center with international standards in spired by the regional charecter of the spaces. It gives the com fortable feeling of being in their own place. The design follows the grid where the building blocks are oriented to the north- south axis and forming their own enclosure for the socialising spaces in be tween. The public, semipublic and private spaces thus have their own space enclosed.

The trophy came out with an intresting breif, breaking it down understanding and selecting this site in Vizag was to identify where the need is justifying the site and neighbourhood. Site visit helped us document and analyse the people, their lifestyle & problems. All this together in spired the design to take right decisions.
