Why would I choose

A SPRAY PAINT CAN instead of traditional paint?

A professional finish, without extra tools. Spray painting makes it very easy to get an even finish on any surface without ugly brush stripes. You won’t need any special rollers or other additional tools to apply the paint.

It’s simply super easy. A spray can is easier to use and reuse than a traditional can of paint you need a screwdriver to pry open. Also, special objects and surfaces are not a problem as the spray mist can easily reach any and all cracks and corners.

More options, more inspiration. Spray paint dries very fast and comes in a variety of colours not available right off the shelf in traditional paints. Additionally, spray paints are suitable for most common surfaces and materials.

How to

SUCCEED

with spray paint. Don’t take shortcuts or rush through. Spray the paint from top to bottom and left to right in thin layers. Don’t try to take shortcuts by applying thicker layers, this will only result in paint runoff.

What do I need? Not much. Just make sure you have enough paint for your project, sanding paper, suitable tools and/or product for pre-cleaning the paintable surface and protective paper.

Remember to remove the safety ring. All PAINT.GUIDE spray paints come with a red safety ring under the spray nozzle to prevent accidental spraying. Lift off the nozzle to remove the ring. You can replace the ring when storing the paint.

What makes

Hey,

PLEASE PAY ATTENTION!

You can judge these cans by their cover.

Paint Base Pay attention to whether the paint is acrylic, alkyd or hybrid. That will affect your choice of primer & lacquer.

My true colour Regardless of any colour maps and other instructional or reference information you can always see the true colour of each paint from it’s cap.

RAL Colour This is where you find the specific RAL colour the paint is aligned with. Use this information to match the paint with other paints or items.

Matt, Gloss, Ultra Matt... Each paint also comes in a specific gloss. Some paints like Black and White are available in a variety of Gloss levels but some paints like the Vintage range are only available in one level, in this case the Ultra Matt.

Easy to read instructions and symbols. Remember to read these through carefully but use also your own common sense. Conditions like temperature, the paintable surface and the amount of paint will affect e.g. the drying time.

Material guidelines We give you a list of materials and surfaces that can be painted with each spray paint. Some other materials might still be paintable as well but you always should test first.

Get the vintage look Vintage spray paints are Ultra Matt so you will get a result that is very close to a chalk paint. However, unlike chalk paint, a spray paint will give you a very even surface, it’s more durable and more flexible than traditional chalk paint. Finally, if you would like a vintage finish, you can get it easily by sanding the finished surface.

Extra extra

FUNCTIONAL SPECIALTIES window & radiator

Windows, lists & radiators These surfaces see a lot of wear you might not notice at first glance but over time they may yellow, stain or simply get damaged. The Radiator White spray paint is specifically designed for radiators. It can sustain changes in temperature and there’s no reason you couldn’t use it for other projects as well, such as the lamp next to the radiator that is also affected by the warmth. Heat resistance +110°C degrees. Use the hybrid Window/List White similarly for the window panes and door frames. The colour NCS 0502-Y is the universal Window/List colour, unless you opted to spray paint them pink.

Extra extra

OTHER STUFF YOU NEED primer & lacquers

Primer & Lacquers The most important job for a primer is to ensure that the paint itself sticks to the paintable surface. When painting with bright or specialty colours it also neutralises the surface so that you won’t need to spray as many layers. Additionally, a primer will help by evening out the surface. Ultimately, it’s not absolutely necessary to use a primer, but it will help you succeed. A lacquer will protect the final painted surface from wear and tear. It can be used for other projects as well, the surface doesn’t need to be spray painted.
