While renting a property certainly has positive aspects, other aspects of renting are slightly more burdensome. Local craft beers on tap. Tastings available for $6 and include a souvenir glass. Distillery tours are available each day we are open. This is a fun walk through of a working distillery and winery. On the tour you can learn about the processes that go into making the great wines and craft spirits at Fair Game. Chatham Cider Works 192 Lorax Ln, Pittsboro, NC 27312 A family-run business making small-batch hard cider using local and mountain apples. The cider is on tap and on shelf locally, and they’re open for tours by request. They are featured in the Fair Game Beverage tasting room, open Friday-Sunday. Starrlight Mead 130 Lorax Ln, Pittsboro, NC 27312 Starrlight Mead, a honey winery (mead is honey wine). Owners Becky Starr (Sales/Tasting Room Manager) and Ben Starr (Meadmaker) have made this a family affair. Most of the honey is from North Carolina beekeepers. Meads range in sweetness from off-dry (lightly sweet) to sweet and include unique ingredients like fruits, spices, peppers and herbs. Taste the award-winning meads.

House of Hops 112 Russet Run, Ste 110, Pittsboro, NC 27312 House of Hops is a family-owned craft beer retail store. They have over 400 bottled and canned beers, and feature 24 rotating draft beers. We fill clean 32oz and 64oz growlers. Purchase one of ours, or bring your own. Bynum Front Porch Music Storytelling series Second Saturdays, Sep – May. Folk tales, true stories, family friendly, and most enjoyed by ages eight and above. Refreshments. N.C.’s top storytellers with a comedian emcee. Friday Front Porch series (held indoors) Live music, weekly, May – Aug, 7pm – 9pm. Arrive early for delicious eats from the food trucks. Games and toys, dancing with the fireflies, and all of summer’s best memories await. Bluegrass Pickin’ Second and fourth Saturdays, 10am – 12pm, year-round. Acoustic instruments. Jordan Lake State Recreation Area Events Sun, Apr 7, 11am – 3pm Family Fishing Fiesta Ever wanted to learn how to fish or freshen up old skills? Families will be introduced to fishing, aquatic education and water safety. Activities and education will include knot-tying, casting, fishing, cleaning fish, fish management, aquatic stewardship, boating and water safety, and fishing regulations. All activities will be bilingual. Fishing poles available to use and if you have one, bring it! (limited supply on hand). Free admission. Food Trucks will be on-site or bring a picnic lunch. The diverse trips offered for kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding, and canoeing are definitely fun for a nature getaway at any skill level.
