Neighborhood Planning Councils (NPCs) are resident-based groups that serve an important and specific purpose in our community. The purpose of Neighborhood Planning Councils is to provide a forum to inform and discuss with neighborhood residents and representatives of the City staff and City Commissioners, issues and concerns of that neighborhood. Generally, the City informs the NPC of facts and potential results of pending decisions, opportunities or other changes. The NPC discusses and decides what, if any, recommendations it would like to make or strategies they would like to develop.

Technique is still stressed, along with training suited to each swimmer's needs. Dry-and core work is done at various times during the year. Swimmers will also be expected to participate in scheduled meets. JUNIOR: Swimmers will move into this group after their 4th grade year or with the coach's permission. Swimmers will train for a minimum of 1.5 hours a day, five days a week. These swimmers have the vision of competing at the District championships, Junior Olympics, and State level of swimming. The training is a mixture of quality and quantity type of training with the main focus on proper stroke drills, stroke mechanics, dryland training and stretching. This program prepares 5-8 graders to transition into High School and Senior level swimming. Swimmers are expected to attend 85% of the practices. They are also expected to participate in one swim meet per month. DEVELOPMENTAL: This program is for beginner swimmers who have completed the basic swim lesson program. Swimmers are expected to be able to complete 25 yards of freestyle and backstroke. It is desired that swimmers are able to swim safely and independently for 1 hour. Practices will be two to four days a week for one hour each. Swimmers may choose to sign up for four days a week or two days a week. All swimmers are expected to participate in one meet a month. PRACTICES FOR THE FALL COMPETITIVE SWIM SEASON START MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 17TH!
