Chamber of Commerce Switzerland – Romania The Chamber of Commerce Switzerland – Romania (Camera de Comerţ Elveţia – România, CCE-R) was legally set up as a Romanian non-profit Association in December 2000 and has been active since then. The Chamber of Commerce Switzerland – Romania is the partner in Romania of the Chamber of Commerce Switzerland – Central Europe (SEC), a member of SwissCham (the Association of Swiss Foreign Trade Chambers), and a collaborator of Switzerland Global Enterprise (S-GE) - all based in Zürich, Switzerland. The Embassy of Switzerland in Romania supports the Chamber’s activity. The goals of the Chamber of Commerce Switzerland – Romania are to promote its members in Romania and Switzerland, to facilitate the business relations between Swiss and Romanian companies, and to provide economic information and business consultancy services to its members and other potential partners.

The Chamber organizes several types of events: •

Networking Events to provide networking opportunities between its members and between its members and the members of counterpart chambers of commerce,

Training Seminars to enable the sharing of knowledge and experience between its members,

It is part of Advocacy and Lobbying Actions organized by the business environment. CCE-R is a member of the “Coaliţia pentru Dezvoltarea României”.

CCE-R – SEC partnership in developing Romanian – Swiss business relations was a project

conducted jointly by the Chamber of Commerce Switzerland – Romania and the Chamber of Commerce Switzerland – Central Europe. It was co-financed by a grant from Switzerland through the Swiss Contribution to the enlarged European Union.

The project developed during April 2015 – November 2016 gave new momentum to the Swiss – Romanian business relations both bilaterally and on third markets. All the elements of the projects were created to ensure first hand business connections and experience sharing between Swiss and Romanian companies, under the umbrella of the CCE-R and SEC, two organisms dedicated to extend the business cooperation between Switzerland and Romania.

Activities developed during the project: • •

Reconstruction of the CCE-R website, Construction of an internet-based platform for facilitating Swiss – Romanian business contacts, match-making and partnerships (SRBP), Organisation of a forum in Switzerland, Organisation of a forum in Romania, Publication of informative and promotional materials.


Sustainable results beneficial both for Romanian and Swiss business partners Besides the short term activities that the project included, one of its great advantages is given by the sustainable results that will serve the Romanian-Swiss business partnership many years from now.

Swiss – Romanian Business Partnership (SRBP) is the main sustainable result of this project - www.ccer.ro/srbp/. It is a database with Swiss and Romanian companies ready to work together. Other companies fulfilling the requested criteria may join it.

Swiss and Romanian companies may join SRBP. Swiss success stories in Romania are also present in the platform. Each registered company provided its contact data, description of activities and future interests.

The bilateral project developed by CCE-R and SEC attracted new members to CCE-R. Membership with CCE-R is open to any legal entity interested in the economic relationships between Switzerland and Romania and sharing the objectives of the Chamber.

Our current members include important Swiss investors as well as major Swiss companies with commercial activities in Romania. As a result, the activities of our members cover a wide range of production and trade & services areas, namely

construction materials industry, food and beverages, medicine and pharmaceutical industry, mass-media, air transportation, heating technology, agriculture, power technology, financial and legal consultancy, training and luxury products.
