Graphics/Wraps For Vehicles Thinking of wrapping or applying graphics to your vehicle? The follow our ten step by step process carefully and in no time you will be making vehicle look great. Make sure you don’t overstretch the graphics or wrapping because it won’t apply and will start to come loose after a short amount of time. 1.You must make sure every surface is as clean as possible. Warm soapy water should be used to clean over each of the surfaces to free them from dirt and grit. 2. Make sure you use lots and lots of primer. Remember you will squeeze this out at a later date so liberal amounts at this stage won’t hurt. 3. Brackets, spoilers, window wipers, trims and all other exterior accessories should be removed as it will be much easier than working around them. 4. Tape up all the panels and have a trial run with the backing still on the graphic, you need to make sure you have the right size before you commit. 5. Use a proper squeegee. Don’t use anything other than a purpose designed squeegee, using anything else will drive you mad and put you off doing the job. There are no shortcuts with this one. 6. Make sure you spare enough time to finish the vehicle with perfect cuts along each edge. If you don’t the whole thing will look tacky. 7. If you are filming the windows make sure you do this after your wrapping has stuck and use a good Edge Sealer to finish the job. 8. Replace the vehicle body elements you had removed before the vinyl installation. Wipe the vehicle wrap clean of any marks and remove any masking tape that may have been left during application. 9. Leave the vehicle to settle for at least 24 hours. You should not drive, move or clean the car for at least 24 hours but most would recommend 48 hours to make sure the wraps/graphics have stuck properly. 10. Lastly the first time you clean it be gentle and do not use any chemicals that may damage your film. Again warm soapy water with a soft sponge is the best option. Follow the above step by step and you will soon find you can apply vehicle graphics, but remember that only practice will make perfect and don’t worry too much as everyone will make a few mistakes first time around.
