Competitions
The children’s museum lobby redesign Story The children’s museum held a competition of redesigning the interior lobby and reception that had such a problems and risks. This design used the primary and secondary colors as a way to attract children to the right paths, in addition to using the lighting path to attract the kid sight to the small auditorium as a waiting space to pay the tickets and another security issues. Concept Starting from the museum’s vision of providing the love of learning in children through the unsystematic education, using shapes, colors, lighting, toys ..., we started this design taking into considiration this successful childish style! In this proposal, colors had the master priority! Researches and studies proved that the bright rainbow colors have a bigger effect on children. It help kids to distinguish form and categorize objects. children tend to be attracted to the bright colors rather than darker blended colors, for this reason the food, beverage industries and toy industries use bright colors to market children products.
Black coffee shop mural design Story Black coffee – Shafa Badran, held a competition for designing an exterior mural faces the outdoor seating area. Concept The main constraint which controlled this design is the industrial style which was used in the interior design of the cafe. Water is a main object which gives life to the spaces, A fountain inspired by the coffee machine, each hand can control it’s own opening to drop water or stop it. Using the red and green colors to show the status of each fountain was inspired also by the interior lighting colors of the cafe.
