As I look down the corridors of time, I remember

National Institute Of Fashion Technology, Patna in its blooming stage experienced many hardships to break its cocoon and emerge into a colourful butterfly. Somehow as time elapsed, these problems were surmounted as the local people began to realise the treasure that had emerged within their arm’s reach. NIFT Patna is a unique platform where students are groomed and moulded into emancipated and empowered citizens. .It has always braced its students to meet the challenges of life with fortitude, confidence and integrity. Equipped with creativity and dynamism the students of Nift Patna have always proved their worth in every sector. Here at NIFT they acquire a dream and a vision to transform society and the world in large.

The magazine unravels the beautiful journey of NIFT Patna. It is the bundle of countless memories of our achievements and the campus life. From writers to photographers, from artists to the illustrators, the magazine is an ocean formed from innumerable tiny droplets. Its not just a souvenir for the graduating batches but an insight for the freshers too. I would like to express my deep heartfelt gratitude towards each and everyone of you for the successful launch of NIFT Patna’s first magazine. First and foremost I would like to thank the magzine team and everyone behind the making of this magazine who turned it into a reality. Sincere thanks to Prof. Sanjay Srivastava without whom the magazine would have been incomplete. I’d also like to acknowledge our faculty members, coordinators and staffs for guiding us through thicks and thins. Regards

EDITOR’S NOTE

WORDS FROM DIRECTOR A thought that has been enduring in mind when it becomes real; is truly an interesting and exciting experience. The first issue of NIFT, Patna’s magazine, Frames is one such cherished work that had its roots in the persuasion. It is a snapshot of the various activities and advancements for all associated with NIFT Patna. Proper communication plays a vital role in institution’s development. Frames will serve to reinforce and allow increased awareness, improved interaction and integration among all of us. Usually we fail to appreciate the good deeds of many people and activities that happen around us as we are engaged in irrelevant talks and assumptions. It could all change if we just pause to think of what is our contribution to the society from which we have been gifted with this blessed life. Our students have consistently been recognized for their outstanding design and intellectual accomplishments. Coming from all over the country, they achieve the highest academic honors and we celebrated one such on May 26th and 26th. The breadth of professional design opportunities that our current alumni engage in is also staggering and we experienced the same during the two days of graduation ceremonies. The progress of the society is mainly depends on many people who are working behind the scenes, overtime round the clock planning things to the smallest. This Magazine will be a medium to provide proper acknowledgement and respect all of these efforts and its results. Frames is intended to come out Once in a year. This inaugural issue is a brief account of the important events held during the last one year. It is expected that wide support for this mission will be provided through the reader’s valuable suggestions and comments. This is only a small step towards a long journey. To achieve progress and to meet objectives we have to cross numerous milestones. Every activity has their Everest, and NIFT Patna students are ready to climb all such heights. I extend my sincere gratitude to all the students and Faculty members who have contributed in making of this maiden issue of Frames which should inspire all of us for a new beginning enlighten with hope, confidence and faith in each other in the road ahead.... Happy Reading !

Through our frames, we see a different world of imagination, inspiration and creativity. Every frame of life is a story in itself which encapsulates some essence of our frame of mind in each and every passing second. The various frames our mind makes is the person we are today. May it be the stencil frame, the camera’s frame, the cloth frame or the framework of some idea under inception, a frame goes deep down into the core of a designer’s work and also forms a part of the idea’s representation. We always frame a perfect picture because it is the balanced concoction of contrast, brightness, hue and emotions; moreover, it reflects us from behind the lens. Similar is the case here, where in this E-magazine all the high moments and memorable events have been framed; also a multitude of articles have been published that speak out our mind and reflect us. Thus,Through our Frames, one seesOur perspective, Our vision, Us. Thank You The Editorial Team

I could talk about NIFT and my memories but i think it deserves much more than that. It began as a family. This huge campus with all these classrooms and the library and elevators, all began in a small building we called home. NIFT Patna, when we joined in, was not what any of you would expect, but it was so much more! The second floor of the Udhyog Bhavan housed an army of 150 who were all one big happy family.

from not only classes but life lessons; in talking, behaving, communicating, team building, working out our problems, and building families with memories to last a lifetime. When asked, I always say I wouldn’t trade my NIFT Patna experience for any other centre because here, we learnt so much more than just fashion. We learnt life. We learnt how to build our lives into what they are today. I am a writer by profession and people often ask me why, I am a NIFTian after all. I studied fashion so that I could write about fashion. But I ended up getting a backpack full of not only education but experiences to backup all my writing. My college made who I am today.

From working on the floors to trying to come up with ways to revamp the display, it was like our own tiny home. We were unlike any other NIFT centers. We knew everyone who walked into the campus, every new student was a new addition to our family and Sanjay sir, was the head of the family, keeping a bird’s eye on each and If there was one thing I had to advise, every one of us. it would be to NOT take NIFT Patna for granted. It’s more than just a college, its It was a whole new world. Living in a hos- a lifestyle, an experience only few get to tel, meeting all these amazing people have. who each were more talented than the other and learning something new every day. From walking around campus meeting everyone wearing a Gothic costume to staying calm in juries when teachers left no inch of our work unsupervised. We learnt hard work. We learnt the value of research, we learnt how to value each other, and how inspiration can come from Warm Regards, every word you hear. Education came Darshita Jain

“Are you ready to sacrifice yourself to c r e a t e something” said a wise man

Two years ago, I came to know about 12th South Asian Games logo competition. I came with the idea of eight petals(symbolising eight countries) moving in a clockwise direction showing the positive spirit of games. The logo was designed to capture the essence of games which is Peace, Prosperity and Progress. Peace is symbolized with the similarity given to all petals in terms of shape and size. Prosperity is continuation amongst petals representing the various countries and the unity within. It was a whole new experience to participate and win in such competitions. It was exciting and a new feeling for me and for whole Nift Patna.Dedication and hard work are the complimentary things to achieve success. I am very thankful to the people who motivated me and made me who I am today. I’m also very thankful to Prof. Sanjay Srivastava Sir, Director NIFT Patna for his motivation and guidance throughout the whole process from an idea scribbled on a paper to the official logo of SAG. For the Readers, I have one advice - Participate in every single competition with full of dedication, who knows you are the next - Abhijeet Krishna name on this page. Dept. of Fashion Communication

and that was the turning point , I found my love calling it Denim, initially begin with cutting edges and trimming from own pair of jeans. Early 2016, I responded to an open challenge National Denim Competition held by Archroma. Few days later I was shortlisted among the top 10 in all india level. Finally steering my ideas into reality, and creating a recycled denim Traveller bag pack with an inbuilt jacket, with respect to the current trend analysis of technology & fashion and giving me the opportunity to Exhibit my design and I was awarded first prize and a national denim award for my innovation. Giving me a direction to work for the international competition and offering internships with denim heads . One advice for all of you is to participate in competitions to know who are you and where you stand moreover it is an opportunity to meet creative people around the globe and collaborating creative ideas for future .

- Robin Roy Dept. of Fashion Design

Don’t limit your challenges, accept it and always work for it. It is always a g r e a t opportunity to participate in international competitions. One of them was the Pensole World Sneaker Championship 2017 powered by Foot Locker, New York. Foot Locker is a leading global athletic footwear and apparel retailer, which caters the sneaker enthusiasts. From the beginning, when I joined NIFT I always looked forward to such competitions and challenges. Taking new challenges inspired me to participate in this sneaker

championship and I got selected in top 64 across the world. It was amazing to be in the top six in my country. So always participate because these platform gives you the global knowledge and provides you a way to achieve innovation in your respective fields.

The artwork has taken its inspiration from Kalamkari which has been given the form of Madhubani which is the painted textile of Bihar region. The artwork which is named “Sanskritimaya” shows the beauty of craft and culture of Indian heritage. It has been showed in the artwork with different flora and fauna including lotus, swan, peacock, deer, parrot, elephant, and fish and so on. The concept of the artwork rest upon “Tree of life” which means a connection in life. The tree has been portrayed very differently with flora and fauna and their mesmerizing beautiful connection and relationship .Everything is relatively dependent on each other, which has unique bonding. In this artwork the flora and fauna are in mutual relationship which completes each other. The depiction of fauna along with flora shows their immense connection who share the same ambience and live peacefully. The design shows how delightfully they come together to increase the beauty of life. The density of lotus petals shows that there is no place , no moment left where they get disconnected with each other . The peacock has been elaborately painted which adds beauty to the tree. The language of these cannot be understood by each other but they communicate with the art of expressions. This is the ultimate and unique beauty of them. The circles made out of appliqued brocades are depicted as fruits, which fulfils the desires of the fauna in spite of knowing the fact they will be consumed. This shows the deep understanding for each otherand love for them. The fruits are attractive and always serves them. Rachna Sharma Textile Design

ESSE CLUB (Ethics, Social Service & Environment) This is the quote that defines the motto of Ethics, Social Service & Environment (ESSE) Club. The ESSE Club promotes NIFT values of integrity, patriotism, tolerance, secularism, compassion, social responsibility, and ethical leadership. It also nurtures skills to take leadership roles in environmental and

creates culture; culture shapes values; values determine the future and we the students, the young learners are the future of this nation.“A nation’s culture resides in the hearts and in the soul of its people.” said Gandhiji. He rightly mentioned the fact as, till a nation’s residents have their culture in their soul, their identity is completely preserved. Thus, to promote the same, Cultural Club strives to keep us connected to our culture, our peculiarity through its aims. It promotes awareness of art, culture, heritage and traditions of India and various parts of the world. It provides a favourable environment to the students to cultivate and improve their talents. It also encourages participation of the students to showcase and nurture their talents by organising a number of events.

Literature

is that tool which enables us to express our thoughts with clarity and eloquence. It is the medium of communication, expression and the impetus to our imagination. “The purpose of literature is to turn blood into ink.” said T. S. Eliot. It is rightly remarked so as what we sense in and around ourselves when put in words is literature. Thus, to enhance our communicative and writing skills, we have the Literary Club. It promotes various literary activities by organising activities such as debates, declamation contest, book reviews, poetry festivals etc. It encourages the students to develop writing, reading and communication skills. Also it publishes a literary magazine every semester.

celebration

Patna celebrated India’s 70th Independence Day with fervour, zest and gaiety to commemorate the sacrifices of all the brave heroes of Independence movement. All students dressed in varied shades of white, saffron, green and blue created the perfect atmosphere of harmony and unity. The programme started with the National anthem followed by a wide range of patriotic songs during which the exuberance and rapture was almost palpable. The students of each department were provided with a large 10/10 inch canvas and tricolour paints. Their artistic hands did a great job in painting the canvas with the colours of freedom. Tricolour batches were distributed to everyone present there and the media captured the event with full zeal. Soon the place was crowded by children, their face painted in tricolour and the localities, their hands dipped in the colours of freedom.

A

day like no other, a day which was the fruitful result of the continuous struggle and indomitable courage of our freedom fighters. It definitely was a day of big celebration and NIFT Patna left no stone unturned to make this day grand.

The 21st century, an era of materialism which breeds the insensate- the cactus of the society while there bloom a few flowers- the benevolent, the ones who serve humanity, the humane who care for the poor and the deprived. These generous people are those who have sustained the Earth, defeated wars through their compassion and have spread kindness in this cruel world. Kindness originates from love, the mother of service. We serve humanity whenever we love, care or forgive. Humanity is above religion, traditions, rituals and dogmatic beliefs. It is universal and one of the purest and beautiful virtue a human soul can possess. Many such people like Mahatma Gandhi and Mother Teresa who loved and cared for the poor and abandoned; Dr Bhakti Yadav and Kailash Satyarthi, who have worked for the welfare of women and child are all the quintessence of humanity. We can also be one of those compassionate souls just by living and helping others to live as to serve humanity is the solitary meaning of life. Our institute NIFT Patna is working in this direction by organising various events like Blood Donation camp, Cloth Donation camp and Nukkad.

BLOOD DONATION CAMP

Blood donaton is the noblest and greatest donation a man can make. To contribute to this cause , a blood donation camp was organized. The Lions Club in Nift Patna along with the ESSE club conducted a one day camp. The camp saw an outstanding participation of students as well as the staffs. Everyone was eager to be a part and contribute their bit and event proved to be a grand success. This camp is organised every year in the campus because we at Nift Patna believe in serving the society and the nation.

CLOTHES DONATION CAMP Where there is charity and wisdom, there is niether fear nor ignorance. A small contribution holds the capacity to make someone happy. To be the agent of change, NIFT Patna along wit Patna beats organised Clothes donation camp for the flood victims of Bihar. The students wholeheartedly supported the cause through their contributions. Youth is the backbone of any society. It holds the power to be the agent of change. On the verge of being called a developed nation, there are several hindrances which are pulling us back from our goals. Depression, stress, anxiety and pearpressure are few from many of them. To eliminate such menaces, ‘Happy Streets’ was introduced. It is a collaborate effort of NIFT Patna and The Times Of India for spreading awareness among the youth on various social issues.

Tantree Samrat Pt Salil Bhatt :

Intraction with India’s Next Top Model

PRANATI RAI PRAKASH NIFT Patna keeps inspiring its students by visits of NIFT alumini every now and then. It was one of those visits, the only difference being the students’ excitement and enthusiasm unlike other seemingly boring interactions - it was Pranati Rai Prakash’s visit. She is a fashion model best known as the winner of India’s Next Top Model 2016 edition. She was also a semi-finalist at Miss India 2015. From Patna itself, she has done her schooling from Notre Dame and has completed her graduation in Fashion Communication from NIFT Mumbai. Currently, she is a contestant in India’s Next Superstars which airs on Star Plus.

Pt Salil Bhatt created the musical instrument ‘Satvik Veena’ . Having received a PreGrammy Award nomination which speaks volumes of his highly successful international collaborations, He is the son of the Pt. Vishwa Mohan Bhatt and is the only Indian to be nominated for a Canadian Juno Award and recently awarded as “Tantree Samrat”. Salil Bhatt is one of those very rare artist who has virtuosity in three Veena’s i.e. Satvik Veena, Mohan Veena, and Vishwa Veena.

Her visit was worth the wait for the students as well as the faculties and staff. She not only shared her story from Patna to the fashion world but also discussed the success formula she applies in her life. Also, students had an open discussion session with her. It ended with happy faces and selfies.

“Satvik Veena”, for which he is receiving innumerable accolades and rave reviews all over the world. This Veena is made of a 100-year-old oak wood block, its top made of pinewood to let the sound filter and resonate. Two f-shaped sound holes to provide the easy emergence of sound. The Fret board is made of rosewood. The instrument has twenty strings in all.

The world is but a canvas to our imagination. So why not paint what we dream? After all a painting is a poem without words; a piece of art, and art has the power to transform, to elucidate, to educate, inspire and motivate. This very idea compelled film-maker Dr Manish Tiwari towards the inception of the movement – ‘Walk for Bihar’. Walk for Bihar was inaugurated on 28th October 2016 by the Bihar Art and Culture Minister Shri Shiv Chandra Ram at NIFT Patna. It aspires to bring Patna on the Art Map of important world cities, with the help of innovative, creative and radical Street Art and Video Installations. It aims at making the city an Art Capital, as it was ages back when Patna Qalaam was practised, and disseminating ideas that include social justice and human liberty. To Walk for Bihar, artist Artez from the Republic of Serbia arrived in the NIFT campus. He painted the mural “World is in your hands to make it” on one of the front walls. It is a big captivating mural easily visible to any passer-by.

WALK FOR BIHAR

So, let us all spread the awareness of this campaign and hence Walk for Bihar!

F

rom the runway of various fashion hubs to that of NIFT the common notion is creativity and the zeal of transforming concepts into stunning testaments from the designer’s vision. A designer collection creates a certain mood which is central to fashion, glamour and photography. The mood is reflected by each outfit of the collection. The hall is dark; the ramp is illuminated; the show begins‌ On the ramp, models walk tall with grace to portray each concept, mood and style confidently. For that few minute walk on the runway, designers work laboriously on their designs, be it the handcrafting of the fabrics and draperies, working on the fluid silhouettes or putting embellishments for luxury and at the same time keeping it elegant within its concept and philosophy. Some garments are made simple while some are sculpted into architectural forms or swishy versions. Some are constructed as symmetrical and asymmetrical ensembles and costumes. Though all that glitters is not gold, shimmery outfits also come as a brainchild of the designer. Flak or appreciation both are welcomed by the designers who promise to come up again with new fresh ideas the next time.

HANDS OF GRACE K.G. SUBRAMANYAN

By - Moumita Nandi

Dept. of Fashion Communication

Evolution is like a shooting star detaching from the whole trail of constellation to make a remark of new hope. Undoubtedly as Indian Art has evolved with various kinds of painting styles, textures, shapes, silhouettes and sculptures; our motherland has given a lot of proficient Indian artists over the years. Art is like an unfathomable ocean of notions, creativity, expressions, speech and experiences which are inordinate and noteworthy for every artist in his own way. From the time period of Abanindranath Tagore to that of Manjit Bawa, India has been a fantabulous land of different art forms. Amrita Sher-Gil, Jamini Roy, Kalipada Ghoshal, Rabindranath Tagore, Nandalal Bose, Mukul Chandra Dey, Raja Ravi Verma, Benode Behari Mukherjee, Gaganendranath Tagore, Vivan Sundaram, Balan Nambiar, Badri Narayan, Anjolie Ela Menon, Gieve Patel,

- K.G. SUBRAMANYAN

Jogen Chowdhury, M.F.Husain, Ramkinkar Baij, Ratnadeep Adivrekar are all such highlights of the panorama of the art culture that have make an incredible notice in the Indian Art History internationally.

Familiar with the Tagorean dictum that the individuality of a person is shaped by his interactions with the world and not by his isolation from it, the forces that helped shape one of the greatest Indian artist in the late 1940s and early 50s included Western modernism, the older traditions of art across the world and his own physical environment. He is none other than the master of sketches, scribbles and drawings, K.G.SUBRAMANYAN. Born on 15th February, 1924 in Kuthuparamba, Kerala, India; this man was a prodigious active art enthusiast on the Indian art scene for over 65 years. His last art exhibition at Nrityakala Mandir in collaboration with Lalit Kala Academy was a stellar collection of all his artworks and cacography done over the years. His versatility as a muralist, painter, printmaker, illustrator, relief sculptor, designer and draughtsman ranges from fine and intricate work to the monumental murals that go round whole buildings. A splendiferous product of Shantiniketan, Subramanyan had enquired into the syntactic framework of visual language that can be broadly described as post – cubist, a convenient position, as Picasso had demonstrated, from which a wide spectrum of non – realist representational conventions could be explored and amalgamated into an idiom flexible enough to be variously stretched in order to accommodate different representational and expressive needs. His doodles narrate a story of connectivity between nature and humanity. He was a polyglot of non – literary visual expression determined by the possibilities of medium. His hands of grace with the proliferation of still lifes and interiors, in which an ambivalent rostrum of forms and gestures unfolded, became more circumscribed by the modernist idea by the 60s. Despite his modernist aesthetic, becoming a multi-professional made him learn that expression and visual design were two sides of visual thinking. Visual communication could also be guided by the values of image-making. India was unfortunate to lose him on 29th June, 2016 when he took his last breath at Vadodara, Gujarat. He had been awarded with Padma Shree, Kalidas Samman, Padma Bhushan and Padma Vibhushan for his true contributions. This artist definitely deserves a grand salute for his tremendous contributions in the domain of Indian art and culture. We wish to have many such hands of grace that can create such wonders enhancing the traditional artworks and the Indian artistry all around the globe. 34

MY

Closed eyes have got the most open visions, for me every dream is there for a reason.

TRAVELLING

DREAMS BY - TANYA ROHATGI Foundation Programme

The road not taken by ROBERT FROST, the wanderer in me wanted it at any cost. Paragliding, mountain trekkings, feast of life and joy of refreshing, so happy,so wonderful I am enjoying my day full. Ohh no! its 10 0’clock i screamed, ohh god ! again i had a travelling dream. The images are so constant the world looks so real i have a dream of samething and again i was here, The mountains,The hills and sunlight treepassing skills amazes me everytime and left me craving for more of it. I miss myself in daylight as i was much happy in my closed eyes, The sky,the moon and the shining stars, add a poem to my introvert thoughts.

37

Before hitting the bed i keep on wondering, what place shall i visit today a rocky hill or someplace visited by BEAR GRYLLS. What’s better than to convert recycled waste to an antique piece? It is the creative reuse of the valuable waste material and moulding it into a useful design which is equipped to solve multiple problems. Rather than throwing it into our bins, we can put in several of innovative ideas and create a masterpiece!

It will broaden their perspective towards nature and society and make them aware of the harmful effects of waste on our environment. It will generate a sense of awareness and build an attitude to take up activities in the real world. The most attractive corner of the college is the stairway beside the administration hall. It’s the combination of vibrant deluge of hues doodled with our favourite cartoons. It is indeed a treat to the eyes for every passerby and a common selfie point for the photoholics. The captivating wall speaks the story of student’s life. Each and every doodled comic strip has been dedicated to niftians. Doodled with perfection, the wall was painted by a group of creative students of the foundation batch during the gala celebration of Spectrum-2017. It took around 3-4 days for the students to complete the work.

WALKING THROUGH THE

SPECTRUM Every day is a fashion show and the world is your runway so live life like you are on a ramp, walking tall and gracefully, because life is not a dress rehearsal, it’s your final and best performance. The evening of the Gala event was the one like no other as the much awaited fashion show began and all the vacant seats were filled by the excited audience. The stage looked glamorous and sorted but the real hard-work was going on behind the stage. From Makeup to Styling, the backstage was laboriously engaged. It was not just a fashion walk but also the display of our student’s hard work.

26th Dec ’16, our team of fifty selected students bid goodbye to Patna and left for Jodhpur with heavy luggage and great expectations. The weather was freezing cold but our hearts were warm and full of joy as we reached Jodhpur. Draped in the aura of merriment and frenzy, the campus of NIFT Jodhpur welcomed us. Determined to win and give our best performance, we got ready to compete with the other campuses. Our motto was to be well focused. Team spirit and coordination was our priority against all odds. 28th Dec began with the Inauguration ceremony at 9 a.m. sharp. A grand parade of all the participants from the 16 NIFT campuses marked its beginning. Dr. Vijaya Deshmukh, Director NIFT Jodhpur welcomed the reverent guests and the teams. Then commenced and unfolded a sequence of sports, cultural and literary events. There was exhilaration, elation and enthusiasm among the team members. Participants of different events ran towards their prescribed venues simultaneously. Other members accompanied to cheer them up. Our SDAC Rashmi Maa’m and Jayant Sir encouraged and coordinated with us while we fought for victory. We constantly had Director Sir’s support and guidance from Patna through Whatsapp. As it is rightly remarked that hardwork never goes futile, the day ended well as we qualified in the first rounds of 100m, 200m, 400m boys’ heats (athletic events), 200m girls’ heats, badminton and chess; we bagged two silver medals in Quiz and junk music. 52

“I was quite nervous before my solo singing performance. It was my first Converge and also the first ever solo singing competition I was participating in. Therefore everyone expected so much from me that I had to give my best despite having a sore throat. I was continuously taking herbal concoction to sooth it. Though I had cough on the stage too, I was somehow able to manage it and things ended so well that I had never expected; I procured gold in both solo and duet singing.”

29th Dec was much more eventful as the day started and we acquired the second position in 100m boys, the first position in 200m boys and the third position in 200m girls. The Kho-kho team qualified for the final match. Badminton semi-finals were won against Bhopal. The Cricket team procured victory by 45 runs in the semi-finals. Two silver medals were elicited in Discus throw and Debate. The day went on to yield two more gold medals won in Solo Singing and Duet Singing.

– Aditi Shruti Foundation Programe “All participants from different campuses looked so tall and muscular that I felt like a nobody before them. Some participants even laughed at me when I went to throw the disc in the initial round. In the second round they openly challenged me and I threw the disc so far that I bagged the silver medal and started dancing before them showing my tiny biceps.” It was fun to see them walking away.

30th Dec was the Day, the decisive factor, the conclusive element and thus the most important. It was not yet time to celebrate previous victories. The final match was yet to be played. ‘Kho-kho finals 9:45 a.m.’ was the message received on the Whatsapp group and the Kho-kho girls hurried to the ground. So many times the participants had to take first aid but this did not stop them from giving their best. Finally, we were able to win silver in Kho-kho, silver in Badminton Singles, gold in Javelin, gold in Antakshari and a silver in the Battle of Bands which compelled even other campuses to dance to its beats. The prize distribution began as the events came to an end after the beautiful performance by a Rajasthani troop. Kannur won the Converge Cup and our team was positioned 4th. In the end there were no winners, no losers, there were Niftians, dancing to the tunes of latest Bollywood songs in the DJ night. In that moment, there was an aura of unity, love and also a little bit of sorrow as the annual meet was over; another year would now await the next Converge with more hopes and dreams.

– Swabhiman Dwibedi Dept. of Textile Design “In my first Converge, seniors made me sing during the journey. They liked it so much that they told me to participate in the singing events of Converge and Spectrum. This inspired me and I practiced to the perfection and by the end of the first year we started our own band‘‘Amplification’’. Further ahead I also participated in singing events and got the best results.” – Anuj Dhariwal Dept. of Fashion Techonology “At Converge16, the ground was brimming with super talented people which eventually gave me positive energy. The whole journey was fun and entertaining. The best part was when hard work paid off and I won two silver medals in my events. I found myself lucky to be a part of it.” – Aakansha Pandey Dept. of Fashion Techonology

Since it was my first converge. I was very nervous for the race. Therefore when the instructor said ‘ go’ I ended up starting late. Even while running also I was too engrossed with the thought of losing that I got imbalanced, at the finishing line. And for a moment it felt like I am disgusting lifted but when i looked back i was the winner securing first position. - Vikash Kumar Dept. of Fashion Techonology

The painting showcases the tale of developing Bihar. The painting, an illustration of Buddha in the centre, with a book in front of him resembled Bihar as an education hub. Behind Buddha was the tree of life with seven branches. Each of the branches showcased Bihar government’s scheme “Saath Nischay”. Every branch was extraordinarily painted in various styles of traditional art forms of India. The tree of life along with the animals and birds depicted the peaceful coexistence of all life form.
