Wouldn’t we all love a blue water lure casting rod for pelagic fishes that was strong, compact and easy to travel with? The dream has materialised, introducing the all new and exciting Rapala TrailBlazer Saltwater Plugging Special 4 piece travel rod.

The TrailBlazer Saltwater Plugging Special was designed in mind for the avid angler plying the vast blue waters from a boat in search for surface feeding pelagic fishes or deep cranking high speed sinking minnows for Spanish mackerel. Not only is the Saltwater Plugging Special great in the ocean but also shines in freshwater for those travelling to remote destinations to chase big exotic freshwater predators.

Highly responsive carbon materials were blended to achieve maximum casting performance with an array of saltwater lures. With these special blended materials, quick hook set has been maximised for saltwater speedsters. Having the ability to cushion shocks from a raging fish trying to dash under the boat was also vital in designing this rod. Fear not, we have experienced all these scenarios and input all our fishing knowledge into the design of the TrailBlazer Saltwater Plugging Special.

Not only did we maintain the Rapala TrailBlazer aggressive look, the handle grip length was designed purposefully for those wanting to crank lures gripping under arm or from resting on the waist position, you will find the handle cool looking and very comfortable.

For the harsh saltwater environment we have fitted the rod entirely with heavy duty Fuji components from guides to the reel seat. An additional Fuji lock nut has been added to secure your reel to the reel seat as we know that high speed cranking may cause the reel seat to come loose.

At 7’3” this spinning rod is the ideal length for casting off a boat which is not too long and cumbersome but just long enough to get distance to reach that surface feeding frenzy. With a power rating of Heavy and line rating of PE 1–3, this rod will handle most medium sized Tuna, Giant Trevalley, big Spanish Mackerel and other salt or fresh water predators.

Travelling to your next destination has been made easier with the all new compact Rapala TrailBlazer Saltwater Plugging Special 4 piece travel rod. A thick neoprene rod bag with carrying straps is provided for that extra protection.
