Freestyle Rap Competition Tips - Be the Winner of the Competition http://www.FreestyleMethod.com
When you enter a freestyle rap competition, you have to be on point for every aspect of your freestyling. This includes not just your rhyming and flowing and beats, but it is important to be at the top of your game with your presentation and stage presence. Today we will look at the proper way to hold your microphone. Tip #1 - Your mic while freestyling While you are in a freestyle rap competition and performing you want to hold the microphone in your hand and have your arm in a V shape. The reason that you want to hold it in a V shape is because that is the best way for you to speak directly into the diaphragm of the microphone. This is the best way for you to project your voice and message out to the audience. Tip #2 - Your mic while you are resting When you are resting your microphone, you want to hold it in your hand and then have your arm in an L shape just above your waist. When you rest, you don't want to hold your arm all the way so that your hand is hanging down below your waist. If you do you will often hear a whoosh sound through the mic as you bring your hand back up toward your mouth. Another issue that you may run into if you hold your mic so that it is hanging all the way down is that you might experience a lot of feedback from the monitors. Your mic will be much closer to the monitors, hence the problem with the feedback. This is why it is best to hold the mic in the L shape when you are resting. If you follow these two freestyle rap competition tips you will look good and look as if you also know what you are doing. This is the professional way to perform and that is how you want to look.
