CURRICULUM VITAE My name is Raquel Amat Parra, I have a Degree in Fine Arts from Polytechnic University of Valencia, Faculty of Fine Art of San Carlos (UPV, Valencia, Spain, 2013). I was born in 1990 in Castellón de la Plana, Spain. Nowadays I am studying my Master’s Degree in Printmaking in English at The Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław, Poland. Faculty of Graphics and Media Art which will be finished on June 2015. My story of how I met Printmaking Art started when I was given a Eramus scholarship to the Fine Arts Academy of Katowice for 2011 and 2012 in Poland. By that time I was more focused on drawing and painting as my main value. However I got surprised of academic facilities, professors and student’s work that I decided to apply and attend to printmaking studios as well. That period founded my beginning on Printmaking Art and made me being in love of It up to now. At the present time I can’t decide a technique to choose; I’m still feeling there’s a lot of knowledge to learn; however each person give me some as a present in academy day life and that makes me feel rewarding. I hope I will be learning all of my life. Because of that I started the Master’s Degree in Printmaking in English, where I learn some Digital and Visual Art as well. During these studies I got in contact with photography, graphic design, creative drawing, web design, animation and art book subjects that I was using as a helping artwork tools. I like to use experimental working as a helping tool of day life art creation. That makes me grow in everyday art approaches and technique methods which are always a hand down of artist creations.

SELF - CONNECTION

SELF - CONNECTION Poem from the book

We have lost the romantic ideal of reality, the human being as a set of people, interconnected to move to a reified world of amputated parts, which lack meaning and connection. Schemes and outlines of broken reality. When we have to understand another, even ourselves, we must change our perspective, the way we look, empathize and stop being yourself to be in the position of another, give up your identity, your borders, to get in tune with other one’s reality, turning around and interpret differently. Change your eyes.

This book consists ın two parts. Am I a dream? And Am I a dream? Part II Nightmare. Poems from the book:

There is no longer breath on my forest… My ideas are my sons, are the nightmare of my world. Nightmares are being feed of fear. But is it fear an illusion? I’m just bringing forth my ideas… However, I’m becoming like one of my children… choosing again the way of being… Closer to reality The darkness grows within the nature of oneself Besides I’m feeling dying, I’m feeling killing and I’m being killed.

Mokulito is basically lithography on wood. This work is part of my MA Diploma.

Plaster: Is very cheap and fragile material. I made a mould from either glass or ceramic recipient and working on the surface as we will do in woodcut technique. We can scratch with almost any kind of tool thanks to the smooth surface we can get with this material. Afterwards will be ready for handprinting process with spoon.
