Life... BE IN IT I wanted to be able to do everything my brother could do, but I couldn’t physically do it. When I started swimming I just absolutely fell in love with it. I realised that in the water I wasn’t at a disadvantage, and it was much easier for me to move. I was treated like any other child, I wasn’t treated as the ‘disabled kid.’ I wasn’t singled out. I could keep up with children my own age. It helped me clear my mind and get over all the anger and frustration I had with my disability. I didn’t feel disabled.
