MAM’s First carbon neutral soother!

We know parents want the best for their babies and the planet they grow up on, and here at MAM, we do too. That’s why, after years of research, we’ve developed the MAM Original Pure, our first carbon neutral soother. Launching at The Baby Show, Excel London, the MAM Original Pure Soother is made from bio-renewable materials. The soother button, shield, and steriliser box of the MAM Original Pure are all made from ISCC PLUS certified Circular PP, a more sustainable alternative to current fossil-based soother plastics. Circular PP guarantees the safety and superior product quality you would expect from a MAM product, whilst being kinder to the environment.

The MAM Original Pure Soother has all the same great features as the much-loved MAM Original Soother - including the SkinSoft™ Silicone teat which is easily accepted by 94%* of babies, and the flat, symmetrical shape developed with dentists to support healthy dental development. Available in a range of nature inspired matt colours and designs, the MAM Original Pure Soothers help to provide parents with an easy sustainable switch.

We have taken steps to reduce the CO emissions of the MAM Original Pure. With the help of sustainability consultants Denkstatt GmbH, we calculated the CO₂ emissions from cradle-to-customer and all the way to the end-of-life of the product. Next, we reduced as much CO₂ as possible by taking actions to cut carbon emissions across the whole supply chain from switching to a new bio-renewable material, to implementing numerous energyefficiency measures during production, and coming up with clever ways to help parents cut down on their own CO during usage. Finally, we have compensated for the unavoidable CO emissions, by supporting gold standard climate protection projects.

At MAM we have also pledged to reduce our carbon footprint for all consumer packaging by 40% by 2025, with almost all packaging being recyclable, and the cardboard and paper contents being FSC certified. To further cut down on wasteful packaging, MAM soothers come packed in a handy self-sterilising box. Allowing the soothers to be sterilised in as little as 3 minutes in the microwave, without the need of a separate steriliser. Just add 25mls of water, and heat in the microwave for 3 minutes – it’s that easy! Using this selfsterilising method can reduce CO₂ emissions by up to 77%** compared to other sterilising methods.

Our MAM Original Pure Soothers are also available as a night version. The button on these soothers’ glows in the dark, helping parents to locate them at night time, without disturbing their little one.
