The Guest, for his opening tee shot, will receive a mulligan if he desires. However, should he choose to play a second ball, that will be the ball in play. The member will tee off on the second hole, the partners will alternate until the ball is holed. “The Horse Race” will take place over four holes. Teams will be informed, depending upon the number of teams entered, as to how many teams will be eliminated on the first hole. Teams that score a Par or better will automatically advance to the next hole.

The continuous putting rule is in effect. The team closest to the hole on every green putts first, they continue to putt until they have holed out. Entry fee for this event will be $50.00 per team. The cash payout for the pot will be split: 1st - 60%, 2nd - 40%.

THE BRAVADO TOURNAMENT

FLIGHTS

Flights for The Bravado have been determined by combined team course handicap. The team handicaps are used to determine flights. In the event that two teams have the same team handicap and it falls on a flight break, ties will be broken by taking the lowest index of the Member for the flight in question.

SCORING SYSTEM

Bravado handicaps will take the lowest index over the past 12 months, and convert to playing handicaps. Playing handicaps are then adjusted at 80%. For all matches, play will be wheeled from the lowest handicap contestant in the four-ball. The lowest handicap contestant will play at scratch, with the other three players receiving a stroke or half strokes based on the difference between their handicaps and the lowest handicap Member on the four-ball.

Each 9-hole match represents 9 possible points.

One (1) point for winning a hole One-Half (1/2) point for halving a hole Zero (0) points for losing a hole

All matches shall complete the designated 9 holes.

Strokes will be figured by reducing the teams combined handicap by 50%, then wheeling off the low team after each elimination. Net par or better automatically advances to the next hole. In the result of a tie on #18 teams will go back to #18 and repeat this process until a winner is decided.

LATE TEE ARRIVAL / ABSENT PARTNER / BYE

Matches will be run on time. No substitutions allowed. If a flight has only 5 teams, each team will play against par. SLOW PLAY

The success of “The Bravado” will depend in large part on timing of our play. Each cart will have a time card specific to their tee time displaying the required time par for that match. If your group is one hole behind the group in front, you will be warned of your position. If the gap is not closed, your group may be asked to skip a hole. Any holes skipped will be halved for the match.

PROVISIONAL SHOTS

If there is any possibility of a ball being lost or out of bounds, the player must immediately play a provisional ball. If a ball cannot be found, the player MAY NOT go back to the previous spot and hit. If the ball is not found, and a provisional is not played, the player will be ruled out of the hole.

HANDICAPS

All competitors must have an established handicap authorized by their state’s Golf Association. All handicaps are based off of the low index for the last twelve (12) months. Maximum handicap to be used by a competitor is 36.

The Tournament handicap is calculated at 80%. The Tournament handicap differential between partners must not exceed 8 strokes. If it does exceed 8 strokes then the higher handicapped player will be reduced to

an 8 stroke differential of his partner. For all 9-hole matches, the lowest handicap contestant in the four-ball will play at scratch. The other players in the four-ball will receive strokes based on the difference of their handicaps. Should this difference result in an odd-number handicap, the player will receive their strokes on the appropriate holes.

Players with odd-numbered handicaps taken off the low ball will receive one-half (1/2) stroke on the applicable stroke hole.

TEES

The Bravado and Final Shootout will be played from the Forest tee markers. The Nicklaus Flight will play the Gold tees during the match portion of the event.

Rule 90

If the competitors age and handicap add up to 90 or greater, the option is available to play from a senior set of tees (Umber). This option has to be declared by the practice round. Any senior utilizing this option will have their handicap calculated from the before mentioned tees.

RULES

U.S.G.A. Rules will govern all play. The 14-club rule will be in effect and no illegal clubs will be allowed. This must be enforced before play begins on each nine hole match. It is each teams responsibility to check the type of clubs and number of clubs in their opponents bags. After play begins there will be no penalty. Exceptions to the rules will be posted on a daily basis as conditions require.

The Committee will only consider a claim if it has been made in a timely manner and if the player making the claim has notified their opponent. A claim is to considered to have been made in at timely matter if, upon discovery of circumstances giving rise to the claim, the player makes their claim before any player in the match plays from the next teeing ground or in the case of the first hole of the match, before all players have left the putting green or when circumstances giving rise to the claim are discovered after all the players in the match have left the putting green of the final hole, before the result of the match has been officially announced.
