COUPLES - 9 & DINE EVENT RULES SHEET
2016 RULES OF PLAY: Rules: The USGA Rules of Golf shall govern all play. The fourteen-club rule is in effect. The format is 9 holes, team scramble. After one drive is selected, players may place the ball with in one club length no closer to the hole. The ball must stay in the same condition. (ie. if in rough must stay in the rough) all players will hit the second shot, repeat the process until the ball is holed out. Add up the gross score and subtract the 9 hole handicap at the end. Tees: All Men play will be from the Forest tee markers. All Ladies play will be from the Sage Tee's. Out of Bounds - Defined by white stakes, perimeter fences and/or the inside edge (course side) any public road. A ball that crosses a public road defined as out of bounds and comes to rest beyond that road is out of bounds, even though it may lie on another part of the course. Double stakes turn a boundary line and provide a sight line of the unmarked boundary from that point to infinity. Ball Drop Area-. Drop areas on all par 3’s are the most forward tee on the same side of the hazard as the tee shot. Ground Under Repair - Areas defined by white lines. * If your ball comes to rest on new sod, sod seams or any other construction related area you may take relief. (The nearest point of relief, one club length, no closer to the hole) Embedded Ball App. I-3a: through the green, a ball that is embedded in its own pitch mark in the ground, other than sand, may be lifted without penalty, cleaned and dropped as near as possible to where it lay but not nearer the hole. The ball when dropped must first strike a part of the course through the green. Range Finders are permitted but any functions other than straight distance must be disabled. Staked Trees are considered immovable obstructions. Nearest point of relief, one club length, no closer to the hole. Immovable Obstructions Close to Putting Green – If your ball lies through the green and an immovable obstruction within two club-lengths of the putting green and within two club-lengths of the ball intervenes on the line of play between the ball and the hole, the player may take relief as follows: The ball must be lifted and dropped at the nearest point to where the ball lay that is not nearer the hole, avoids intervention and is not in a hazed or on a putting green. The ball may be cleaned. Deer Tracks in Bunkers, play as ground under repair, the player may lift clean and place the ball as close to the original spot, no closer to the hole. Stones in Bunkers are movable obstructions (Rule 24-1 applies)
