2016 RULES OF PLAY:
9
Rules: The USGA Rules of Golf shall govern all play. The fourteen-club rule is in effect. In match play, if a doubt or dispute arises between players, a player may make a claim. If no duly authorized representative of the Golf Professional staff is available, the players must continue the match without delay. The Professionals will only consider a claim if it has been made in a timely manner and if the player making the claim has notified their opponent. A claim is to considered to have been made in at timely matter if, upon discovery of circumstances giving rise to the claim, the player makes their claim before any player in the match plays from the next teeing ground or in the case of the first hole of the match, before all players have left the putting green or when circumstances giving rise to the claim are discovered after all the players in the match have left the putting green of the final hole, before the result of the match has been officially announced. Rule #2-4 Concession of Next Stroke, Hole or Match - A Player may concede his opponent’s next stroke at any time, provided the opponent’s ball is at rest. A player may concede a hole at any time prior to the start or conclusion of that hole. A concession may not be declined or withdrawn. Out of Bounds - Defined by white stakes, perimeter fences and/or the inside edge (course side) any public road. A ball that crosses a public road defined as out of bounds and comes to rest beyond that road is out of bounds, even though it may lie on another part of the course. Double stakes turn a boundary line and provide a sight line of the unmarked boundary from that point to infinity. Ball Drop Area-. Drop areas on all par 3’s are the most forward tee on the same side of the hazard as the tee shot. Ground Under Repair - Areas defined by white lines. * If your ball comes to rest on new sod, sod seams or any other construction related area you may take relief. (The nearest point of relief, one club length, no closer to the hole) Embedded Ball App. I-3a: through the green, a ball that is embedded in its own pitch mark in the ground, other than sand, may be lifted without penalty, cleaned and dropped as near as possible to where it lay but not nearer the hole. The ball when dropped must first strike a part of the course through the green. Range Finders are permitted but any functions other than straight distance must be disabled. Staked Trees are considered immovable obstructions. Nearest point of relief, one club length, no closer to the hole. Immovable Obstructions Close to Putting Green – If your ball lies through the green and an immovable obstruction within two club-lengths of the putting green and within two club-lengths of the ball intervenes on the line of play between the ball and the hole, the player may take relief as follows: The ball must be lifted and dropped at the nearest point to where the ball lay that is not nearer the hole, avoids intervention and is not in a hazed or on a putting green. Deer Tracks in Bunkers, play as ground under repair, the player may lift clean and place the ball as close to the original spot, no closer to the hole. Stones in Bunkers are movable obstructions (Rule 24-1 applies) Developmental Tee Boxes: If a player’s ball comes to rest on the closely mown developmental tee, the player has an option of taking the nearest point of relief, one club length, no closer to the hole.
