I am an explorative, dedicated, and quite organised designer who has acquired knowledge in the field through the study of architecture at degree level and various real world projects. I am fairly confident in my ability in researching and developing architectural designs that are innovative and designed to meet the needs of the user and the environments. Furthermore, I also value designs that is able to tell stories tastefully interweaved from various features and elements that make up the whole.

Lelana Resort Cangkringan

Nominated for Final Project Award

SAA Awards 39

Function: Location: Area:

Resort Cangkringan, Sleman Regency 9.765 m2

The design has a purpose as a means of accommodation and recreation for visitors. The facilities offered at the Cangkringan Adventure Resort and Visitor Center are a reflection of the Cangkringan tourist area which has the potential ftor a variety of tourist attractions in the Mount Merapi Slope Area, especially the Cangkringan District which is related to the theme of ‘adventure’. Visitors who come are aware of the potential for natural disasters that exist in this area, but still make this area an option. One of the dimensions of ‘adventure’ that emerges is the risk that these hazards actually attract certain characteristics of tourists. Adventure is far from being detached from society.

Single-family house Jakarta 120 m2

Brief Participants were asked to design a single-family house that is contextual in the recent pandemic.

Discussions about post-pandemic architecture are often only associated with “green design” or other passive design solutions which actually has been the definition of “good architecture” for a long time. However, what difference did the recent pandemic make?

The pandemic has also made us pay attention to cleanliness, from using masks to disposable cutlery. Unfortunately, we managed to close 2020 by hoarding 1.6 billion masks in the sea. In fact, masks have a decomposition time of 450 years, a very long time compared to plastic (20) or styrofoam (50). Hence, human waste could be the most abundant and contextual material in the future.

Single-family house

Jakarta 48 m2

Brief Participants were asked to design a single family house that can provide selfsustaining feature for the occupants.

This house has a main core in the staircase area where the corridors in front of it are also used as spaces to support the main needs. The energy required by the Aquaponic system is generated directly by solar panels installed on the top of the roof. Besides being economical, the Aquaponic system also does not depend on electricity which is prone to blackouts and can damage crops.

The site is located in the middle of a large paddy field. The client asked to design a healthcare that could be extended to house the client’s living area. Aside from the rooms that is listed on the guidelines and codes, the client also wanted to add an open kitchen. We exhausted the possibilities of the site by exploring and selecting options that is the most viable. From the exploration the design chosen is made of a main hallway that connects and also seperates programs in the health care. The emergency room is given its own entrance while the main entrance is located on the east-side of the building.

Single-family house Kenjeran, Surabaya 278 m2

The site is located on a leftover area of an existing house. For this project, the client specifically ask for an unusual house, so we are given a rather lax requirement for exploration, but he specifically ask to preserve the existing vegetations on the site. Throughout the project we made many iteration based on a set of criteria that we have set for for the designing phase. The resulting design is basically boxes of programs that are meticulously placed in between the existing vegetations sheltered under a big slab of roof extended from the frontmost part of the house to the master bedroom area at the back. The circulation is designed to have sequential experience as the occupants or guest get around the house. A long stretch of fish pond is also placed at the side of the house to help with the cooling and ventilation of the general area under the shelter. The new house is also connected directly to the common area of the exisiting house.

Renthouse Jagir Surabay 120 m2

We were asked to renovated an existing house into several rented house that can be used seperately. Through our exploration we managed to split the house into five smaller houses that still have all the facilities needed for the occupants. During the exploration we also established that every house should have a small garden that could help with the natural lighting, ventilation and also to make the small room doesn’t feel cramped. The five houses also have direct access to the public street making it convenient for the occupants. The house is divided into two main program that is the living area on the first floor and the recess area on the second floor. We wanted to make the house have as small as possible room division to maximise the space that’s usable. On the first floor, the living area is connected to the garden and toilet, while maintaining the visibility from the second floor.
