CULTURE & WILDLIFE

10 DAYS

KENYA

Experience the REAL Kenya

Nothing is as truly wild and RAW as northern Kenya, home to the Maasai and some of the most unique wildlife in East Africa. RAW Africa Eco-tours is proud to be working in partnership with the Il Ngwesi Maasai community in an often forgotten and untouched part of Kenya. Il Ngwesi means “people of wildlife”. See yourself lying in your star bed, listening to the sounds of an African night, the call of the hyena or zebra or possibly elephants browsing close by. Be captivated by an African sunset over beautiful landscapes with not another soul in sight. Meet the community of Il Ngwesi and learn about traditional Maasai life while seated around a campfire under an African night sky. Conclude your journey at Il Ngwesi Conservancy’s five star lodge set into the cliffs of one of Laikipia District’s most stunning valleys at the only Maasai owned and operated lodge in Africa.

How you can help support people & wildlife -Buy Beads! In northern Kenya, wildlife competes with livestock for grazing and water. Il Ngwesi Conservancy supports Maasai women to earn a sustainable income through selling their beautiful beaded products. Purchase a piece of beadwork and you’ll help decrease reliance on livestock for income, and support people and wildlife at the same time.
