Schokland, UNESCO World Heritage Site, was a peninsula that became an island in the 15th century as the sea enclosed on it. Since the 1940’s Schokland has been reclaimed from the sea as a part of the draining of the Zuider Zee. It represents the never ending struggle of the Netherlands people against water. This research was conducted to present a 100 year strategy in order to prevent the Noordoostpolder from re-flooding.

HAMWORTHY BOTANICAL GARDEN PLAN
Poole Quay is entered in the town of Poole, Dorset. It is a historical town and the quay itself has a very deep history that goes back to AD43 when Britain used to trade with the Roman Empire. The southern side of the quay is dedicated to trade and it is where the marinas are situated. Hamworthy lies in the inner suburb of Poole just across Poole Bridge. This project aims were to regenerate the quay, build on the green links between Poole and Hamworthy to reconnect the suburb back to the quay and the inner city.

THREE MILLS GREEN Three Mills Green is one of London’s oldest industrial sight, based on the River Lea. A site that is part of the 26 mile long, 10,000 acre Lee Valley Regional Park. Three Mills Green brings together entertainment and arts in its location 3 Mills Studios, the largest film studio in London, UK. This project proposal intends to connect Three Mills Green to the Olympic Park by introducing water to the site, allowing people to get closer to nature and to strengthen the links between the site and Highstreet 2012.

04- PARC DU SPORTIF, LE HAVRE, FRANCE A Shrinking City can be defined as a city that has experienced population loss, employment decline and social problems as symptoms of a structural crisis. (Martinez-Fernandez et al., forthcoming)
Le Parc de Sportif de Port is situated on the Boulevard de Graville and Boulevard Jules Durand close to the Canal Trancaville. The aim of this project is to reconnect the surrounding communities to the water edge. This will be completed by introducing new sport facilities and other leisure and social activities. Having the community help on the project is the key to rejuvenate the area. Local business, communities and societies will be key players in the construction and maintenance of the project, with the objective of strengthening the community as a whole and integrating the port back to the cultural life. The proposed outcome and benefits of the implementation of this project is to stop Le Havre from being a shrinking city and reinforcing sport as a way of life to increase mental and physical health, life expectancy and promote active citizenship. Furthermore, the project will be contributory in combating crime and anti social behaviour. It should however not alienate any communities from each other and create social barriers, especially the more wealthy communities of Le Havre.

AIMS & OBJECTIVES - To improve on the health of the communities and its social environment, using sport facilities and other social activities - Implementing a new cycle route in addicition to the exisiting one in order to connect the prevailing communities as well as improving on the exisiting cycle route with the aim of directing people to the waterfront - Preserving the culture of the port and allowing the community to appreciate their beautiful port surroundings - To introduce a new sports hub to the city of Le Havre, in order to attract people from the surrounding areas

CITY LANDMARKS
A collective research based on Le Havre, a city with UNESCO World Heritage status. Mainly focusing on Cours de la Republique, which has a unique site DNA. The aim of the this project is to build on the connection between the Port and the rural areas by creating a multifunctional Cours through public transport and green infrastructure. This could potentially aid on improving the social, environment and economical conditions of the city. Conceptual approach for DOT’s water entry into the MENA region aimed to raise domestic awareness on the global water crisis in undeveloped communities; including graphical representations of OXO biodegradable plastic and Roundabout charity water solutions, in which were displayed at the Saudi Art Council in Jeddah,KSA and various locations around the city.
