Some are multi utility vehicle, some armored utility vehicle, or sport utility vehicle, crossover utility vehicle, etc. Ertiga happens to be one of the most sought after utility vehicle in India, the model being of light weight. Maruti Suzuki Ertiga has gone through some major facelift in October 2015. Here is a quick view to the new Maruti Suzuki Ertiga features that will enable you to understand the transition of this particular model from the school of Maruti Suzuki. Transition of Ertiga Ertiga happens to be an eight seater vehicle. The cabin seems almost exactly like that the Swift Dzire’s. A compact MPV, Ertiga is also categorized under Light Utility Vehicle (LUV) being of light. One nice touch is that there are ample cubbyholes for all passengers and the top two variants get second row AC. Due to the facelift, the rear seats are now 50:50 split folding, thus improving the versatility of the MPV.
With the new facelift Maruti Suzuki Ertiga specifications include chrome grille add-on dual airbags ABS with EBD, and seatbelts with pre-tensioners and force limiters. Overall look of the car has become wider and bigger than before with the name Ertiga being embossed on the rear door.

Ertiga comes in all three fuel options (petrol, diesel and CNG) and two engine options (KSeries petrol VVT and DDiS diesel). It is the most urban-friendly MPV in the Indian market right now. The all new facelift version of Ertiga happens to be the second car to get the SHVS hybrid diesel engine after the Ciaz Hybrid.
The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga specifications under the facelift version include many advantageous points from a customer’s perspective. The facelift has enabled the 1.3-litre DDiS 200 SHVS diesel engine of Ertiga to churn out a fuel efficiency of 24.52kmpl. Now this is about 18% boost in comparison to the previously 1.3-litre DDiS Ertiga. The SHVS powered Ertiga is being enabled with a start/stop button for the engine, torque assist, brake energy regeneration and gear shift indicators.
Apart from the SHVS diesel, there’s parallel option of a 1.4-litre K14B VVT petrol engine that is responsible to churn out a fuel efficiency of 17.5kmpl, which is again about 9% boost in comparison to the previous version. Interestingly in both cases, the engine is attributed with 5speed manual transmissions along with an optional automatic transmission that is exclusive only to the VXi trim.
With the facelift comes Maruti Suzuki Ertiga features like SmartPlay infotainment system with features like TFT touch screen display, integrated reverse parking camera, bluetooth, voice command and navigation system. Compatible smartphones can be connected via the MirrorLink software making the smartphone features accessible on the infotainment display. Two more colours like beige and new blue have been added for the model.
