PUBLIC LIBRARY
Inception of the project In today’s time with the emergence of the Internet and digitalization of the books and information, this has enormously influenced the manner in which we consume information. With the developments of new methods and types of media, the traditional role of a public library is to question. The significance of the physical collection within a certain environment versus a quick Internet search at any given point of time within any environment, questions the sustainability of a public library and the resources it offers.

Doubly Curved Roof Structure - Detail The roof of the structure is made up of a spatial steel truss structure with exterior GFRC panel cladding to reflect the incident light as possible and also requiring lower maintenance over time. The roof is made up of a structural steel truss of depth 1000 mm that also houses the Glass openings and the Atrium cutouts with the help up of Tree columns to support its weight. It provides not only a fluidic, grandeur, guiding experience to the user but also spans over the whole structure, engulfing it in a feeling of integration

The Central Vista or the Rajpath is a 3.2-km stretch in Delhi featuring some of India’s most iconic landmarks which also has among the biggest public spaces in a city of more than 20 million. The 35-hectare area, includes Parliament House, Rashtrapati Bhawan, and the India Gate war memorial. The area lacks basic facilities, amenities and parking, which leads to congestion and gives a poor public perception”, the proposal said. “Therefore, there is a need for upgradation.” This INDIE CENTRAL project aims to investigate and be able to provide a holistic and sustainable solution to the National capital jewel.

The Central Vista is significant for historical, lived and architectural heritage. Equally importantly, it is a public-use area for tourists and residents, and a green area. In India, as in many countries, rapid urbanization is putting greater pressure on governments to build office blocks and rail networks, which has led to the razing of old buildings and traditional markets.

Context and Views INDIA
Visual connectivity of the site is a very important aspect of this project for appropriate functioning and imagibility.
DELHI ZONE-F
Location of the Site
The major landmarks around the site are1) Crowne Plaza Hotel 2) Indraprastha Apollo Hospital 3) Jasola Flyover 4) Jasola Metro Station 5) Sarita Vihar Housing
The project will have a major visual impact becausea) Nearby buildings are industrial of maximum G+4 height and small residential plots of maximum G+2 height are exactly opposite to the site. c) The character of the area is of a very old and rugged area and a modern building will totally change it’s character. d) Great imagibility will be there due to the tremendous height and major visual connection from Jasola flyover and metro station.
Pedestrianising all public spaces
Strategic ground floor activation
Concept The concept for the form developed was inspired from the “Heavenly Land” of the Persian Ziggurat subdued in an urban backdrop of Okhla. The users enter from a purely modern street with a linear yet curiously laid out landscaped street and then entering into the realm of the nature achieved by stepped landscaping reaching the pinnacle of mass at the highest habitable part of the site engulfed by stepped terraces The facade and the finishes of the exterior will reflect a Persian visual imprint on the user adding a scale of ‘Grandeur’ to the society. The finishes of Terracota will also compliment the Historic monuments in vicinity.

Inuits as Circumpolar People
Floor Plans
Eskimos, officially known as the Inuit; are ‘the people’ of the arctic. Famed for their extreme survival conditions. Traveling on the sea ice for their hunting expeditions. Knowing the weather pattern has allowed them to travel safely; due to climate change the weather has become increasingly unpredictable, the once familiar territory has now become an unstable habitat. Pushing the community on the brink of their traditional lifestyle. One of the proposed solutions for climate change is to refreeze the arctic by creating white cloud cover over the polar summer.
Scale 1:250 All dimensions are in mm
The design doubles as a dwelling for the Inuits & a tool to stop climate change. Comprising of a elliptical shell volume in the rear, which would help in propelling pellets into the Stratosphere made of sulfate aerosols. Essentially acting as cloud forming canon. Sitting on top of an iceberg; not allowing it to melt with close proximity to sea for hunting & generation of tidal energy with turbines. The design aims to be an sustainable & offgrid solution in its true sense.

With cursory knowledge of supply & demand the idea was to design a visitors center welcoming people from Earth. The center will double as a docking station for the spaceships/ landers & temporary lodging facility until they wander off to explore the planet.

The Bioware-bubble gives the space for a large habitable space on whole surface of the mars so that multiple entry units can be connected together
BIOWARE-BUBBLE
With fervent belief that need is one of the dominant factors in determining & exploring new typologies in architecture; we propose a visitors center (Penultima) on our red neighbor. With humanities recent attempts to venture into the dark abyss of outer space, the red planet has always beckoned us as a civilization; a starting point in becoming a multi planet species.

Importance of Bus Stops Bus stops are an integral part of cultures and reflect one’s cultural identities. Reminiscent of how London was defined as a city due to its existing “Red Telephone Booths’’, a similar approach was adopted for this proposal. The Indian roadways and highways have a very distinct fleet of buses that are a token of identification for the whole world, also commonly known as the Blue Line Bus.
Up-cycling of the existing fleet of Transportation buses into a new Bus Shelter
Keeping the essence of the native Indian bus and incorporating the concept of recycling to foster sustainability, the proposal involves the up-cycling of old, retired bus fleets into new and upgraded busstop shelters. Instead of dismantling in the bone yard, re-use of such buses with not only cut off on the cost of recycling but also reflect the original image of nostalgic identity of the buses of the country, keeping an imaginary tie of trust and amiable with the new refresh of the design and making it instantly relatable with the masses.
75%

The frontage of the bus stop features a broad header with all the Digital panels, to provide glance to all the necessary information about the current bus schedules, AQI, Routes and Digital Maps on the fly along with Public Address Systems in-built. There is provision of universally abled washrooms, recyclable bins and sanitary vending provisions in all the bus shelters. Solar panels make the shelter sustainable enough to harness power by itself to power all the electronic and lighting fixtures installed. They are also backed with backlit LED Panels which will allow space for 3rd Party advertisement areas to generate additional revenue for the maintenance of the new shelters.
Digital-Info Panel with integrated PAS System
Seamless Integration of UPI services along with universal access
All-inclusive design for various cities and highways to cater to the masses
24x7 connected Online Surveillance of the Shelter

PROJECT TYPE: Competition
Some might have the map of the world and marked the countries they had the fortune to visit. But this will serve as a reminder , to plan, save and prepare for the next trip, by expanding our mental horizon of what is possible in life and design on the map. Its not a complete rationale and definitely doesn’t over all of the reasons architects love, or fell and inherent need, to travel- but its enough for an architect- already itching for the next trip.

We experience something new than bring back and potentially inform a detail on the next project. Archaeologist looks for clue underfoot; an architect can look at a building and determine a handful of things. Even if the architect of record is not on hand (or even still alive), we have this time capsule of knowledge and culture in the shape of the architecture he or she created and left for us, did they care about sustainability ? what was the common material of the time? Is these symbolism in the design.

The workshop aimed at exploration of the typology of fluidic architecture, made popular by famous architects like Zaha Hadid, Ma-Yongsong, UNS etc, int he first place, The explorations had a common goal to create a structure that befits the environment it is in and blends through, embracing the beauty of this typology or structures. It involved the modeling of such structures and understanding the intricacies involved along with them. Learning them first hand from Mariana Ma’am was the best experience

A luxury interior design venture for an Apartment Residence in a high rise in Ranchi. It consisted of two flats- A and B which makes it a 9 BHK residence with one flat with 4 and other with 5 Bedrooms, for a family of 4. The project embraced the use of minimal elements of design in the purest of their forms like curves, arches, straight cut lines. The lift lobby was the incident point of entrance, acting as a common hallway to both the flats, embracing tranquility and royalty in the ambiance of the area.

The roof , primarily needed to be self-shaded and lightweight as possible. The choice of material was finalized as Bamboo logs (75 mm Dia.). They were to be used in conjunction of Steel tree Columns to give the roof a floating effect and the iconic image to the structure as well. The shape was developed parametrically using the Site contours and elevations
