TRENDS FORECASTING
Spring / Summer 2011
__NOVELTY STRIPES_____________
More than equalized stripes with duo-colors, designers are playing with multiple colors, spacing them out and even adding novelty trims. Mixtures of lace, beads, mohair yarn, and a splash of color screams Spring and Summer this year. Spaced out stripes and bold, dark colors are in for the warmer weathers and are versatile all year ‘round.
__Unbalanced Perfection__________
The mixture of light and heavy weight mohair yarns is what everyone is crazy about. It’s covered where it needs to be and exposed on areas that’s sexy, young, with a cool swag. There are mixtures with cotton jersey and lace and knits with silk, gorgette, tulle, mesh and metallic trims and beads to vamp a simple knitted sweater.
__Hot & Cold_________________ The subtle peach tone, ethnical prints on cool blue silk with a biology print has all the main trends in one shirt. From the prints to the tone of colours, it’s exactly what we’re going after! Whether it be lighter shades or brighter tones, we also believe the hot and cold colors look great together. Adding a neutral tone calms all the wildness from prints and bright hues.
__Open Minded_______________
One of the topics of trend forecasting in 2011 is being freely-minded with clashing colors together and creating a piece with vibrant hues and exciting new silhouettes. It’s all about adding different colors, textures, and prints.
__S/S Color Trends____________
For Spring/Summer 2011, premier designers are clashing neutral tones with bold, vibrant colors that would make any outfit pop. Even though it’s warm and sunny for several months, doesn’t mean we have to sacrifice wearing darker tones like raspberry, midnight blue, dull earth tones, and darker neutrals.
