Coconut Kefir Recipe Like the different kefir water concoctions, coconut kefir is a very good method to implant valuable flora (good bacteria) into the digestive system. First of all, it is advised that we need to purposely take in pro-biotics in one sort or another in an effort to balance our gut flora. It is said that with all the antibiotic use (or misuse) we are destroying bacteria bad and good. In addition, supporters of good bacteria and kefir have stated to see benefits in the following areas when ingesting them steadily: liver cleansing, endocrine system cleansing, increased energy, calming benefits, fighting of food cravings, body nourishing and balancing, assistance with ADHD, combating sleep disorders, reduced depression, plus antifungal properties. Kefir is also regarded as a natural antibiotic against the "bad" bacteria. Numerous health leaders are even introducing kefir into the medicinal steps towards autistic behavior! I figured that when making coconut water kefir, one would simply use water from coconuts rather than mineral, spring, or raw water in whatever kefir concoctions, although that way definitely should work, the usual preparation procedure for preparing this nutritious bacteria drink is a bit different. Making coconut kefir water requires, obviously, several coconuts (usually roughly eight to ten to make a gallon), as well as some kefir starter. The approach is actually hassle-free... open your coconuts and then pour the contents into a gallon-sized jar, put the jar in a pot of water then warm it up until the water reaches a temp slightly below 100°F (which is general body temperature therefore you are likely to not feel the water... which indicates it's at the correct warmth). Pull off from the stove and pour in a packet of starter, cover and let stand for 12-48 hours. Taste the kefir water every six to twelve hours... you will be looking for a tart or tangy flavour, definitely not a very sweet taste. The kefir water is going to seem a bit opaque and no longer clear like when you began. Suggestion: It's recommended to avoid coconut water that has a tint of pinkish to it since it is understood to be rancid. If it's too challenging to tell, the normally white portion of the rancid coconut will be a grayish color rather than Coconut Kefir Recipe

a deep white. This "rotten" test is debatable though... many do report that the pink or purple colour is the sign of a juvenile healthy coconut. I actually discard it to be on the safe side, but it's up to you! Like with any other dietary change, please check with your doctor before making any drastic changes to your diet.
