STEPPING C A R V E D CLOISTER FALL 2018

SITE

The Met Cloisters, New York, NY

PROGRAM An extension of the Met Cloisters From the analysis of the Met Cloisters, there was an applied importance of views that were framed by the enfiladed pathways. Keeping that idea in mind, Stepping Carved Cloisters is part of the extension based on the use of different tetrahedral units. These units are connected, wrapped and carved from the existing ground condition to create a mini cloister. Different colors are used to give different spaces a specific mood to attract, frame different areas physically, and visually.

ART SHED FALL 2018

SITE

Brooklyn Bridge Brooklyn, NY

Park,

PROGRAM Art Shed Using tetrahedral prisms as a base unit, the art shed was created. The base unit is then modified based on different uses of space. The units are then placed in a repetitive pattern for continous circulation in relation to the view of the Brooklyn Bridge and the sidewalk for direct view into the art shed. The art shed is carefully orientated for the perfect view of the Brooklyn Bridge and to maximize the use of the sun during the day time, and for a direct access from the road for convenience and easier transportation.

PROGRAM Shared Interactive Space Using two formal systems and the study of bodies in different motions, a program is generated where two or more occupants can interact or be excuded from each other in the shared interactive space. This space is taken into consideration for a night person as well as for a day person, while each occupant do different actions, such as stepping, crawling, or dancing.

HOUSE IV ANALYSIS SPRING 2018

SITE

unbuilt

PROGRAM

housing complex

A series of drawings are produced based on the analysis of the unbuilt housing project, House IV by John Hejduk. These drawings include analysis of circulation, visual and physical thresholds, as well as the placement of furniture in relation to the floor tile, and the structural grid system. This led to the abstract reconfigured House IV, based on different analysis and discovery from these analysis.
