BIL 402 WORKSHOP 5.2 INDUCTIVE STUDY RELATING TO EZEKIEL

Download Assignment 3: Inductive Study relating to Ezekiel With Inductive Bible Study principles guiding you as you interact with the text of Ezekiel, invest approximately five hours to answering the following question: Based on the book of Ezekiel, how did Ezekiel [how did Ezekiel want his readers to] picture God? Justify and substantiate your answers. Since the instructor has provided his work on the observation stage of an IBS study of Ezekiel, you can, after reviewing that work, proceed directly to the interpretive question. This IBS work can be found in Supplemental Documents at the end of your Student Guide. In this study, you will want to break the major question into several smaller questions, such as: Who is God? What traits does he possess? What does God do? What kind of things does God say? How does God interact with faithful people? How does God interact with unfaithful people? How does God interact with Judah and its rulers? How does God interact with other nations and their rulers? For the sake of this assignment, place all you already know about God in some side compartment of your brain. Focus here on what you would learn about God if Ezekiel were your only source. When you have answered these questions, also include one paragraph about how you would apply this understanding of God to the life of a minister. Summarize verses from Ezekiel to document your responses. Do not merely cut and paste verses from Isaiah into your paper because for this assignment, your interaction with the text [your observations, meanings, implications, and application] is more important than your ability to quote the text. Similarly, there is little benefit in giving long lists of mere references [e.g., 1.14, 2.45, 4.32, etc.] unless you summarize what those verses contain. With rare exception, do NOT in this assignment use references from other biblical books than that of Ezekiel. Focus this study on material in the book of Ezekiel. Be sure to place all Bible quotations in quotation marks. After working with the assigned interpretive question, offer a paragraph or more of application. What differences does Ezekiel’s view of God make in your relationship with God and the world today? Use APA formatting and submit your work on this assignment to your instructor during workshop five
