UNDERSTANDING DIGITAL MARKETING Digital marketing describes the use of channels such as social media, mobile devices, search engines and the internet to reach an audience. It’s interactive, is aimed at reaching a specific segment of the audience, and incorporates feedback from the customer.

A business that engages in affiliate marketing promotes another company’s products and services in return for commission if there is a sale or lead. Global companies such as Amazon have affiliate programs that compensate websites for promoting their products.

A company’s website is a powerful marketing platform by itself, but it can also be the medium that aids other online marketing activities. It should be well-developed to showcase the brand, services and products in an easy and mobile-friendly manner.

Email Marketing

Content Marketing

This form of digital marketing uses email as the primary channel for getting in touch with potential customers. Through other channels, marketers build lists that they can reach out to with email content describing their products and services.

Content marketing involves the use of content to reach customers. Written content, for example, is published on a company’s website and then promoted through other channels such as email and social media. Online courses, e-books, podcasts and blogs are all forms of digital content.

GLOBAL COMPANIES SUCH AS AMAZON HAVE AFFILIATE PROGRAMS THAT COMPENSATE WEBSITES FOR PROMOTING THEIR PRODUCTS.
