As babes in the world of wisdom, we, the new freshman class, entered the doors of the brand new Hilliard High School. With Tim White, president; Jim McCosky, vice -pre sident: Bob Shier, secretary; and Charles Alder, treasurer; we eagerly made plans for the exciting years to come. Our sophomore year we followed through with our prev ious ly made plans. Our officers for that year were Connie Conklin, president; Dennis Woodruff, vice-president; Patty Furrow, secretary; and Glen Lambert, treasurer. Our first project was that of Kinder Key Caroling. In the spring we set a precedent by holding a talent show in which the entire school was invited to participate. Because it was an overwhelming success it became an annual event. A class picnic along the Scioto River brought our second year to a close. Upperclassmen!! As Juniors our responsibilities were great; the greatest of which was financing money for the Junior -Seriior Prom. The officers responsible for this important year were Dennis Woodruff, president; Connie Conklin, vice -president; Carol Richardson, secretary, and Jim DeBerry, treasurer. The traditional magazme sale netted us a profit of $512 which was a very good beginning. The Junior Class Play held a few weeks later, was "Meet Me In Saint Louis. " Many who saw the play considered it to be the best play ever given in our high school. Now only the Prom was before us. Much planning and time was put into the preparation for it. The theme decided upon was "Hawaiian Paradise". The couples entered the doors into the Travel Agency and there received their passports to board the ship and sail into the world of Paradise. Beautiful hula girls greeted the couples with le'is as they descended from the ship. The stage was a moonlit garden. The ordinary gymnasium walls were transformed into the white cap waves of the Pacific which created the illusion of a warm tropical island. This was the colorful ending of our third year. Leaving the halls of treasured memories, we fondly recall the many adventures that marked our senior year. Class president, Dennis Woodruff was assisted by vice-president, Jerry Sherer; secretary, Jim DeBerry; and treasurer, Lanita Roose First of the gay events marking our coming graduation was the "Senior Blastoff". The many seniors who attended enjoyed all the facilities of the whole school. The presentation of "Arsenic and Old Lace", the senior class play, followed in April. Its intrigue and subtle humor contributed to the pleasure of the large audiences. The juniors honored us, May 19, with the unforgetable "Junior -Senior Prom". Its romantic setting was the snow-capped Swiss Alps. Traditionally, we ended the year with our class picnic. Our hopes are focused on the future but our memories of Hilliard High School remain to give us direction.

The team was very successful this year due to the hard work of head Coach Norman McElheny and his assistants: Don Shaw, Tom Lamb, and Pete Nonnemaker. The team won all their league games except the loss at Gahanna where the Wildcats were outscored by one point. The team added it's third straight trophy by tying London for the league crown.

Our Wildcats finished the season with 12 wins and 6 losses, capturing third place in the league with a 10-4 record. After losing 3 games in the first round, the Cats bounced back strong in the second round only losing one game to league champ Grove City. Under the tutorship of coach Perry Reali the Wildcats should be a potential threat to the league crown next season.
