Restoration and Protection of Truck and Car Rims LOCATION Serbia PRODUCT CorrVerter® Rust Converter Primer VpCI®-396 Aluminum VpCI®-368 D PROBLEM The customer has a workshop for restoring car rims. It was necessary to remove rust from corrosion-damaged wheels and protect them for a long time.

APPLICATION The process involved removing loose rust with a wire brush and applying CorrVerter® by brush at 40-60 microns (1.6-2.4 mils) DFT to passivate any remaining rust. The CorrVerter® was dried indoors at 25 °C (77 °F). VpCI®-396 Aluminum was applied as a topcoat at 100-120 microns (4.0-4.7 mils) DFT over the CorrVerter®. VpCI®-368 D was applied on top of this at 60 microns (2.4 mils) DFT for outdoor storage protection. CONCLUSION The customer is very satisfied with Cortec’s coating products and is using them in his daily business.
