OCTOBER 2014
Letter from the “A” Dear Brothers, Andrew Burt
Andrew Burt ‘15 Chapter President a@gsudeltachi.org (404)-680-9000
My name is Andrew Burt and I am the current President of the Georgia Southern Chapter. I was a part of the Sigma pledge class in Fall 2011 and have held the positions of Chaplain and “C” since being initiated. I would like to say thank you for
all of your support and advice over the years. This Fraternity would not be as strong as it is now if it were not for y’all. Your help is making a difference and showing us undergrads that being a Delta Chi is not a 4 year investment. It is a lifelong bond that brings us all together to make us better men. It is an exciting time
to be a Delta Chi at Georgia Southern. We are in the middle of our Associate Member program, and our newest additions have thoroughly enjoyed their experience thus far. We have even had two members from two other Delta Chi chapter re-affiliate with us! Some even more exciting news is that we are officially landowners and in the coming months will be breaking ground on our very own house as I am sure you all have heard. This house will put Delta Chi on the map like never before and I am excited to be a part of it. Thank you, and do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. ItB, Andrew Burt-“A”

Letter from the ABT President
"The Fraternity man never graduates. He receives his diploma
Peter Lane ‘07 ABT President
and leaves his Alma Mater for the larger affairs of the world, but as long as his chapter stands, he is as much a part and parcel of it as in his undergraduate days.”
-Peter Schermerhorn Johnson
On behalf of the ABT, please join me in congratulating the Chapter on winning a combined, 12 Programming and Individual Awards at Convention this summer! That is the most in our history, and another sign that we are doing good things at Georgia Southern. In addition to the Chapter’s success, we
are seeing more alumni involvement in the Chapter than ever before – over 25 men are active in advisory boards, and more are reconnecting through the excitement generated by the housing campaign. It’s almost time for another Homecoming, and we encourage you to make plans to attend again this year: October 10-12. Homecoming is always a weekend full of reminiscing, reconnecting, and celebrating the achievements over the past year. And this year, we share the excitement of not only a new Football Stadi-
um, but also the building of our very own, new Fraternity House! In closing, we invite you to help us #BuildtheFutureDX by making a donation today to the housing campaign. I challenge every alumnus to join The 1890 Guild, making a two-year commitment of $18.90/ month: http:// weblink.donorperfect.co m/ BuildtheFutureDX ItB, Peter Lane ABT President Georgia Southern ‘07

“BB”’s Report Jim Boring’10 Alumni Advisor “BB” Georgia Southern Chapter
As we are on the verge of building a new Delta Chi chapter house at Georgia Southern University the brotherhood is acting with a renewed sense of vigor and purpose. Much effort has been put forth on behalf of the undergrads and alumni to establish a cornerstone in Statesboro, GA from which we can build, and like yellow school buses and dirty creek water, become another lasting tradition on campus. As the chapter is getting older it is also becoming wiser and more mature in its actions. This can be seen by the many awards and recognitions brought back from the 2014 Delta Chi International Convention.
The undergrads are making big moves this semester, with influence from members on the IFC and the SGA boards, they are poised to help mould the college experiences of the entire student population. They are also working on new programming for the brothers and potential new members to take RUSH from being only four weeks a year, to being a year round event. I believe all these things make us stand out from the rest, and make Delta Chi the best fraternity on campus. ITB Jim Boring’10
