Make It! Lunar New Year Shadow Puppets

Monday, January 16, 2023 2:00 – 3:00 pm In celebration of Lunar New Year, watch a shadow puppet show about the Great Animal Race and the naming of the years after animals of the zodiac. Then create your own rabbit puppet. Grades K-7.

Make It! Lunar New Year Calligraphy

Monday, January 23, 2023 3:30 – 4:30 pm In celebration of Lunar New Year and Family Literacy Week, learn to write Chinese characters and draw rabbits using acrylic paint to create festive Year of the Rabbit decorations. Grades K-7.

Afternoon at the Movies

Fridays, 3:30 – 5:00 pm Visit Renfrew library and enjoy free, kid-friendly movies. Suitable for families and children. Seating is limited. First come, first served.

February 3: Encanto (2021) – The Madrigals are an extraordinary family who live hidden in the mountains of Colombia, in a magical house, in a vibrant town, in a wondrous, charmed place called an Encanto. The magic of the Encanto has blessed every child in the family with a unique gift from super strength to the power to heal—every child except one, Mirabel.

February 10: Minions (2015) – Long before they worked for Gru, Minions Stuart, Kevin and Bob are recruited by Scarlet Overkill, a supervillain who, alongside her inventor husband Herb, hatches a plot to take over the world.
