i-MotoThe i-Moto i-RideClinic has many things to offer from throttle control all the way to a knee down to relax and confidence riding, as a rider ourselves, we believe when it comes to rider training, you can never have enough when it comes to motorcycle riding. Every rider has one or to bad habits especially when it comes to a deeprooted fear of falling and crashing. We aim to address the fear by sharing essential riding skills with our fellow riders. Most of us fear the unknown and after all, we as motorcyclists don’t often get the opportunity for guided riding sessions at the limit; the limit here that is, our machines and our minds. Our 30 years of riding experience helps improve rider’s skills with the do’s and

don’ts which then used to make the riding experience safer and more enjoyable. But that’s just not all that, and i-RideClinic instructors provide plenty of feedback to help each student become a better, faster and most importantly a safer rider. Roger Chia started i-RideClinic courses back in Aug 2016, and have conducted over 30 riding clinics which have benefited over 400 riders. i-RideClinic modules are designed to be a bridge a trackday experience at a smaller Kart Track while improving open road riding skills and prepare for a trackday experience on a big circuit like Sepang International Circuit. We rarely get to see an entirely new and truly amazing addition to the lower supersport category, but recently in August, Yamaha launched the third generation Yamaha YZF-R15 and it’s been pretty stunning from the moment you start riding it to its full potential and I have no reasons to complain, except for the tyres in the wet. But in the dry the made in Indonesia IRC tyre performed with average grip.

The light and nimble liquid cooled, fourvalve single-cylinder engine, 6 gears, VVT 155cc engine gives out 19hp @ 11,000rpm. The racy looks does perform pretty well in corners too as attains the DNA of its other siblings the R6 and R1. This is the first locally assemble Yamaha under 200cc which come pre-installed as standard, “inverted front forks” (UpSideDown suspension).

Evolution instead of revolution this R15 has a racetrack-worthy Deltabox chassis and hi-tech engine packaged into a racylooking motorcycle that’s dished out at a price just within reach of college goers and to new riders.

Acceleration from lower gear was impressive even with full throttle all the way to the sixth gear with rpm limiter 11,500. We got top speed of 155km/h @

11,000 rpm, even with over revv light came out, just change gear the VVT engine doesn’t lag like other 200cc bikes we tested.

Compare to FZ150, Yamaha has upped the tyre size to 140/17 at the rear, combine with its 137kg weight make the R15 easy flickable around short back to back corners.

Braking comes with 282 mm disc brake at the front and a 240 mm disc at the rear. The brakes have enough bite, however, Yamaha does not offer ABS, but with Assisted- Slipper Clutch to prevent rear wheel hopping.

Riding position is sporty, racy and lower than any bikes in its category.

A great starter bike at RM11,988 excluding road tax and insurance.
