June 3-5, 2022

Welcome to Team Titleist Ballyhack! It is a pleasure to welcome you to Ballyhack Golf Club and to connect with friends, old and new, from the Team Titleist community. Arrangements are fully inclusive (golf, meals, drinks (inc. alcohol), cottage rooms, and caddy fees). Caddy gratuity (suggested $40 cash per player per round, paid directly to caddy) is not included. Golf shop purchases are permitted using any major credit card. On arrival, please meet staff under the clubhouse portico. There, you will unload all luggage and gear, which will be transported to your cottage room. Locker rooms will be available for you to change and prepare for play. Cottage check-in will be available in the afternoon, and dinner on Friday will be served in the Executive Cottage. Saturday’s golf will feature some fun competition, including on-course prizes. Following golf, you are invited to demo and Oit for the full Titleist line, including golf balls, with Dormie Network Master Fitting Specialist Adam Lash and Titleist Sales Specialist Connor Mangelson. Additional golf (nine holes) will be offered at about 3:30 p.m., then we’ll enjoy a putting contest before having dinner together in the clubhouse. For those arriving on Saturday, cottage check-in will be available in the afternoon. On Sunday, we will regroup for breakfast, then golf and lunch before departures. Please plan to check out of your cottage before golf on Sunday morning. Gear and luggage will be stored in the clubhouse while we play that morning. Locker rooms will be available for you to shower and freshen up before departure. As for a few norms, please note that golf-appropriate attire is required at all times in and around the clubhouse, on the course, and on all practice grounds. Casual dress is welcome in cottages. Outside food and drinks are not permitted on premises. Preferred divot pattern on the practice tee is a straight line and intact oncourse divots should be replaced. Exploded divots may be Oilled with sand.

I am grateful to Allan Blocker and everyone at Team Titleist for supporting this event, which I hope to make an annual tradition. Thank you for making time to visit Ballyhack. Yours in golf,

The Golf Course Designed by Lester George, Ballyhack opened in July, 2009. Lester’s other work includes Kinloch and restorations of the Greenbrier Olde White (Raynor), Cavalier (Banks), and Country Club of Virginia (Flynn). Ballyhack has a Scottish highlands feel and features bent grass tees, fairways, and greens. The course sits in Windy Gap, between Mill and Windy Gap Mountains. In the late 1800s, the property was a horse farm and home to the Pitzer Transfer Company. Pitzer horses were ridden seven miles into town, where they were stabled and used to deliver goods from the train depot. After introduction of the motorcar, the property was converted into the Saul family dairy farm. When Interstate 73 was approved in the 1990s, it appeared that imminent domain would take the land, and the farm ceased operations. A series of unexpected events in 2004 led to acquisition of the land and plans for a golf course. For more, see “Lost In A Memory,” a Golfer’s Journal piece by Will Bardwell (https://www.golfersjournal.com/editorial/lost-in-amemory-ballyhack/). The golf course runs across giant features, including dunes, ravines, and creek beds, with only three trees in play. Playing surfaces are big, bold, bouncy, and fast. Fairways are generally enormous but proper angles yield best results. The 18th green is the largest in Virginia, at more than 22,000 square feet. Ballyhack has hosted the State Open of Virginia seven times. In 2016, the club became a part of the Dormie Network, which offers the most highly curated overnight experience in private destination golf.
