Soccer Fans...

Welcome to another exciting season of Yellowjacket soccer at Rochester Community and Technical College! On behalf of the soccer team, coaches, students, faculty, and staff, thank you for your support. As the President of this great institution, I am excited for what the year holds for our student athletes, both on and off the field. I am also very excited for what our future holds as we mark 100 years of providing accessible, affordable, quality learning opportunities to serve a diverse and growing community. I hope you are able to return to the campus throughout the year to participate in the many celebrations scheduled for our Centennial. In addition to celebrating our history, we are also excited to provide to our student athletes a college experience typically found at four-year universities. Thanks to the support of our local community, the Rochester Regional Stadium is currently experiencing growth, including the expansion of our spectator seating to 5,000, added changing rooms, and the expansion of the press box and videotaping facilities. Once the upgrades are complete, the home of the Yellowjackets will be even bigger and better than before. In addition to the excellent athletic facilities, students on our campus may also choose from a variety of other student life programs to make life-long connections with other students, develop leadership and life skills, and of course, be part of the most extensive varsity sports program of any public two-year college in the state. So while on campus, feel free to tour the entire campus, study in our library, view our artwork, or just walk the grounds. You’ll be amazed at what you’ll find at RCTC. Again, thank you for your support, and GO YELLOWJACKETS!

2015 Soccer OFFICIAL SEASON PROGRAM

2015 Rochester Yellowjacket Soccer Staff Deb Hare – Head Coach for the Women’s Soccer Team, started the

program in 1998 and has posted a 192-78-12 record. She was awarded the honor of the Sixth Winningest Coach in NJCAA Women’s Soccer among the active coaches. The team has won the Region XIII Championship every season but three and has been ranked in the top ten nationally every year since 2002. The soccer program has produced numerous All-Americans. Prior to starting the program here at Rochester, Coach Hare was an assistant coach for the Winona State University’s women’s soccer program for two seasons. During her college career she played goalkeeper for three years at High Point University in North Carolina and her senior year at Winona State University. Deb earned Freshman of the Year, First Team All-Region, All District, and AllAmerican at High Point University. She made First Team All-Conference and All-Region honors at Winona State while also being ranked among the top ten goalkeepers in the nation all four years of her college career. She has also been inducted into the NCHSSA and Sanderson Hall of Fame for allowing the least amount of goals in a season. She still has the national record for lowest average for goals allowed in a high school season. Coach Hare is also on the coaching staff for the Minnesota Olympic Development Program for Women’s Soccer.

Rachel Tackmann – Assistant Coach for the women’s soccer team,

began her position in 2013. Prior to this experience, she worked hard to improve not only her own skills but those of others as well. Coach Tackmann’s soccer career took off in the small town of Lake City, MN. Starting varsity when she was only in seventh grade, she earned many awards including most valuable player, best offensive player, and all conference. After high school she attended RCTC, where she played soccer for Coach Hare. After playing two seasons at RCTC, she attended Saint Mary’s University of MN, where she played soccer for one year. After her semester at Saint Mary’s, Coach Tackmann began to travel and was given the opportunity to play in both a Costa Rican league as well as a Romanian League. During her time in Romania, she met and was trained by the head women’s soccer coach of Romania. Recently, Coach Tackmann has developed and run her own soccer camps. Her main focus was placed on creating soccer opportunities for children where programs were not being offered. She plans on continuing her work in order to help local towns build soccer programs that will help children improve their soccer skills. This is Coach Tackmann’s second year as assistant soccer coach; she hopes to help the team expand its talent with the anticipation of a great season. — Page 2 —
