2019 SOCCER SEASON PROGRAM
YELLOWJACKET SOCCER STAFF Bryan Weiss – Head Coach for the RCTC women’s soccer team, took over the program during the winter of 2017, and enters his second season this fall. Weiss has over 20 years of coaching experience, including stints with Judson College and Briar Cliff University. During his last season as the head coach of the Judson College women’s soccer team, the Eagles were ranked fourth in the national rankings and qualified for the national tournament. This team featured one All-American, two second-team All-Americans, and six national players of the week. Weiss has been serving the soccer communities of the Rochester, Minn., area since 2010. Most recently coaching and serving on the board for Southern Minnesota Select Soccer. To add to his Rochester connection, he has coached for Mayo High School, Century High School, Crossroads College, Rochester Youth Soccer Association, and currently serves on the boards of directors for Minnesota’s Rochester Sports and the Southern Minnesota Adult Soccer Association. Additionally, Weiss has held several college leadership positions: teaching sports management and physical education courses, and serving as a faculty sponsor for student organizations like Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Sports Management Society, and the Athletic Board. “My family and I enjoy being part of the Yellowjacket community,” Weiss said. “I am looking forward to a successful season on and off the field for the RCTC women’s soccer program.” Weiss graduated in 2002 from Briar Cliff University and earned his master’s degree from United States Sports Academy in 2008. He resides in Rochester with his wife Kim and their two children Kaitlyn (16) and Charlie (4).
Kristi Schurhammer – Assistant Coach comes to RCTC after a successful career as a goalkeeper for University of Wisconsin Stout, Plainview-Elgin-Millville High School, and Euro Football Club. Kristi has a bachelor’s degree in health, wellness, and fitness and dietetics from the University of Wisconsin Stout.
YELLOWJACKET SOCCER PLAYERS Fatima Sanchez Hernandez accumulated many team and conference awards during her high school career. She won Desert Valley League awards for Goalkeeper MVP (three times) and All-DVL. As a Captain at Banning High School she was named Best Goalkeeper (four times) and team MVP (three times). She’s a fan of The Beatles, Black Panther, and spicy food. MaKenzie Swanson-Larson started every match for RCTC in 2018 and earned her way onto the MCAC All-Conference Team and MCAC Fall All-Academic Team. She is a captain of the Yellowjackets soccer team, majoring in Automotive Technician. She’s a fan of Moana, Maroon V, and her great grandma’s sloppy joe sandwiches.

Micayla Biffert started every match for RCTC in 2018 and was selected for the MCAC AllConference Team. She is a captain of the Yellowjackets soccer team, majoring in Tourism Management. She’s a fan of The Karate Kid, kayaking, and snap peas.
Jaila Hill was captain of the Utah Surf SC team that won the Utah State Championship. For Bountiful High School she scored the winning goal in a rivalry match vs. Woods Cross High School. She’s a fan of sushi, How I Met Your Mother, and Chelsea FC.
ROCHESTER YELLOWJACKETS Tianna Iglesias is in her first season with the Yellowjackets. Her fondest soccer memories are the games she’s played with her brothers. She’s a fan of grape Frooties, grape Skittles, and grape soda.
Whitney Prengel had a successful soccer career at White Pine High School. The Ladycat captain and Defensive MVP also won first-team all-conference and second team all-state. She is a fan of giraffes, Tangled, and Run DMC.
Olivia Amos joins the Yellowjackets after a successful high school career with the PlainviewElgin-Millville High School Bulldogs. She enjoys playing Yu Gi Oh, Pokémon, and Dungeons and Dragons.
Mae Litschauer was Merrill High School Offensive Player of the Year in her senior year and was placed on the WIAA All-Conference Honorable Mention team. She is a fan of the English Premier League, Carrie Underwood, and winning.
Sydney Vrieze started nine games for RCTC in 2018 and earned her way onto the MCAC AllConference Team and MCAC Fall All-Academic Team. She holds the RCTC record for saves in a game (20). She’s a fan of Marvel movies, Riverdale, and Skittles.
Jisselle (Rae) Mayi played for Albion Hurricanes FC and George Ranch High School. When she wasn’t playing soccer she was winning graphic design awards and earning Academic All District and Academic All-State honors. She’s a fan of Alex Morgan, Billie Eilish, and Almond Joys.
Brooke Nystuen was selected MVP of her Red Wing High School soccer team in 2018. She is especially looking forward to RCTC’s matches vs. DCTC this season, since her sister Ashlyn plays for the Blue Knights. She’s a fan of The Waterboy, pizza, and FC Barcelona.
Kaela Cheak joins the Yellowjackets after a successful high school career as a forward for Rochester’s John Marshall High School Rockets and EURO FC. She’s a fan of Beyonce, Divergent, and Snapchat.
Ally Weaver won the Indian Award and Rookie of the Year Award for her Newton High School girls’ soccer team. She’s a fan of Lionel Messi, Footloose, Kelly Clarkson, and dad jokes.

Rachel Foster and her Chicago Empire FC team won the US Soccer Midwest Regionals (2019) to qualify for the National Tournament and won the Disney Presidents’ Day Soccer Festival (2018). While with Downers Grove South she also won two regional championships and three conference championships. She is a fan of Flaming Hot Cheetos, Aladdin, and Brett Young. Natalie Maher earned the Charger Spirit and Hardest Worker awards for her Central High Chargers girls’ soccer team. She was also a key member of Fort Worth FC. She’s a fan of Harry Potter, Texas Roadhouse, and Ed Sheeran.
Lizzy Peterson played soccer in the Rochester area for RYSA, EURO, and Dover-Eyota High School before playing her freshman season at the University of Minnesota Morris. She’s a fan of Marvel movies, USWNT, and NF.
