NEW SCHOLARSHIPS

SPOTLIGHT ON DONOR | DICK AND NEW SCHOLARSHIPS WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT SCHOLARSHIPS (WDS)

Minnesota employers are facing a critical shortage of workers with the skills needed for high-demand occupations. To address this shortage, the Minnesota Legislature has provided funding for 45 scholarships at RCTC valued at $2,500 in the fields of Advanced Manufacturing, Agriculture, Health Care Services, Information Technology, Early Childhood Education, and Transportation.

In addition, the Legislature offered to match NEW scholarships in these industry areas. Our community responded generously, raising $25,000 in new scholarship funds. Because of our donors and this WDS program, we are able to offer an additional $50,000 in new scholarships to RCTC students in these 6 high-demand areas.

HAKI SCHOLARSHIP

The word “Haki” means “justice” in Swahili. Donated in honor of former RCTC employee, Chao Mwatela, this scholarship is available to incoming or returning students with financial need, that have a commitment to supporting diversity, equity and inclusion.
